Well, many people believe that vegetable based fats are also healthy and safe and you won't be doing them during pregnancy.
If I thought any of this would cause birth defects or issues with a baby I would not be doing this.
I am fine with you guys leaving out the artificial sweeteners. I only ever use the amounts advised by the FDA as safe DURING pregnancy, let alone before, (and have never recommended nor endorsed the dangerous levels on some other sway sites and in fact emphatically argue against their use at that level for the past 7 years) but if you're not into it, I don't think they even do anything. Leave them out. I got my 4th boy using them (who is a genius BTW!) and my girl without.

Ok, thanks! I have seen the other site and I agree that the le diet just seems so much healthier. Like people were drinking gallons of crystal light on the other site and it just made me nervous about swaying.

Well, I personally think some oils are too unhealthy to consume ever (soy, canola, cottonseed) and avoid them entirely. Same with aspartame and saccharin. But I'm pretty extreme and also eat 90% organic. I don't think that those things cause birth defects, I just think they are less than optimal.
So what I do is just eat 'less healthy' but not outright unhealthy, in terms of what *I* consider healthy. For me that meant mostly eating sunflower oil with small amounts of olive oil & buttter/fat from dairy, in terms of my fat consumption. Much pinker than before but still healthy.

Yes there are tons of other options that are veg. based fats but not the ones with the bad rap, so go with one you feel comfy with instead. No one ever needs to ingest anything they don't like on LE Diet. REALLY. Pick a different option that you are comfy with.
