There is a theory that says higher prog. levels = more girls conceived. Another website turned that into higher temps = more prog = more girls.
However, I am not convinced AT ALL that a) that theory is true to begin with and b) that theory really means what the other site seemed to think it meant and c) that even if it is true, that the temps have anything at all to tell us. I have seen too many people with temps all over the map and who had to have prog supplements, who went onto conceive girls or boys when they weren't "supposed" to according to these theories.
My temps pre-o are VERY low (95's to very low 96's) only get up to mid 97's post o.
I was JUST reading on IG that had a just a few women chime in that had really low BBT's and had all boys--those with Higher BBT had girls.
They said that they were drinking peppermint tea and it was raising their bbt. I plan on adding that to my sway. VERY INTERESTING!!!
KYOB - I suspect that very few of those women were testing their BBT when they conceived all their children. It may be true, may not be true - I just don't want anyone to despair or think they are doomed to boys because they have lower temps.
Update: been taking Saw Palmetto this cycle and compared to the previosu 2 cycles, my PRE-O temps are 1 degree hight! Up from 96.1ish to 97.2 ish!!
I'll post again after I O to see what they do...
Thanks for updating, very helpful!!
my temps pre O are in the low 97s and after are around 97.7-97.8 range. I have two boys and was charting with both of them. I don't think the theory is true for me. I was nursing when conceived DS 2, so that would naturally lower progesterone but i had the same BBTs for both sons.
Thank you!!! I don't think it's true either but I don't have enough data to disprove it!
I see this is a few months old, but just thought I'd add my input :) This time TTC my pre O temps haven't gotten up past 96.9. This cycle starting out, I've been 96.5 both days. Very interesting post!!
Oh I also meant to add that my thyroid is apparently normal as well!
