Peony, what a doll you have there! She's so sweet and looks so content!! :)
Ah Pinkin, so sorry to hear that! My DS2 had reflux to and it made him very unsettled/unhappy and it was a nightmare. Have you seen his doctor hun to try to get some medicine? the stuff really helps and I was at first reluctant to medicate a 8 week old baby but it gave him relief and then helped me be less stressed out. Big hugs hun :hugs:
Aww Pinkin, I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time babe! How is the mastitis? Is it gone?
Sorry the little man is suffering, but if there's some medicine, that's good! You should get some!
I didn't know babies got reflux.. do you mean acid reflux aka heartburn!?
I knew they got gas but I guess there's something I didn't realize!
Pinkin, I hope you can get Oliver some help so you can get some sleep! That sounds rough.
I just took Sawyer in to get checked for reflux too, but his isn't that severe. He gags and chokes a lot, though. I am wondering if it isn't reflux, but some sort of sensory disorder instead. He also doesn't like being held very much, but prefers to sit in his bouncy chair (I made a whole post about it). It is really upsetting me!
Congrats Peony!!!! She is beautiful!!!!
Baby Makalee also arrived....She was born Nov 14 @ 8:04am weighing 7lbs 4oz.......I went into labor on my own for the first time ever and it moved quickly....By the time I got to the hospital I was contracting every 2 min with each contraction lasting over a min....I was rushed for a c section and got there just as my uterus ruptured....It was scary for a few min but all is well with baby and me...we both came home today....I am so in love with her my heart could burst :)
What a wonderful ending to a scary labor, Ladybug! I hope you are okay! Congrats on your baby--she is precious!
Big baby for being that early!! I love her chubby cheeks! She's beautiful Gina!!! :)
Ladybug, how frightening. Thank goodness you are both ok. Welcome little Makalee! My phone won't let me open her picture so I'll have to look when I get home tomorrow. Were they able to repair your uterus? Did they have to do a hysterectomy? It sounds scary but you have obviously recovered really well to be sent home already.
Pinkin, no doubt you are trying to do everything on your own as well. Oliver might need to see a paediatrician to get checked properly and make sure he is given the right treatment. It sounds so tiring for you. They are hard enough work when everything is going smoothly. Hang in there and ask for help.
Congrats ladybug she is beautiful, I'm glad you and baby are ok.
Wow - scary, ladybug! I can't see the picture on my phone either but I'll check it out next time I'm at my computer. Congrats on your little girl!!

congrats ladybug!!!! she is sooo beauitful! how is your uterus doing now...is it still there?
I just saw Makalee's photo, she is lovely! I always think photos of newborns make them look so much bigger than they really are. Enjoy all the pink! My MIL is visiting us in 2 weeks and seems to be shopping up a storm of pink. She has 4 grandsons (2 from me and 2 from her daughter) and she thought we were all done having children so she is just a little excited!
Congrats Gina!!!
Congrats Peony too she is a cutie!
Thanks TTC5. She is just wonderful. 1 week old today and I am keeping the boys home from school and having some professional photos done (of them, not me...can't face the camera just yet!)
Peony, you will haveto post some of those pictures when you get them back!
I hate photos of myself too!
Photos were exhausting! Photographer wanted Sasha asleep which is easy when she is wrapped up but as soon as you strip her off she wakes right up! Poor girl was over it by the end and has virtually slept ever since! I'm sure there are some lovely photos but it was bloody hard work. And to top the day off I hurt my back and it kept going into spasms so I could barely walk around. Great first day on my own- lol.
Newborn photos are tough. For ours we went to the photographer's studio (luckily for us she lives 2 houses away and it is in her basement). She had a heater going full blast and a sound machine playing white noise - that, combined with a big nursing session - did the trick to keep Sadie asleep.

Sadie had her two month checkup today. She now weighs 11 lbs. 10 oz., which puts her in the 90th percentile. My twins were always at the 50th percentile for growth and ds3 between the 50th and 75th, so this is new territory for me.
She's still such an amazing baby. Almost always happy and very cuddly. She rolled over from her tummy to her back last week, and she's already outgrown her 0-3 month clothes...this little girl is growing up too darn fast!!!

Peony, I bet the pictures were great! I really wanted to do newborn pictures, but couldn't find anyone to do them locally, so I did my own. I had my husband crank up the fire in the woodstove until it was super hot in here, and I got Sawyer to sleep and then took the pictures. It was a lot of work!
Mocha, Sadie is getting big! SHe sounds like a really sweet baby. :)
Good on you doing the photos yourself Hobber! It is just so worth capturing them when they are small. Mocha, Sadie must be wanting to keep up with her big brothers and join in the fun! Clever girl to be rolling already. I just saw a sneak peak on Facebook of my little Sasha. It is under Little Cherub photography, not sure if you can have a look at the page? Sounds like the rest of the photos will be ready for me to view tomorrow. Can't wait to see how they turned out.
And Mocha, when you have always said that Sadie feeds once at night I've thought wow, how nice to have a baby that does that. My boys were pretty hungry little things day and night. Anyway, I keep waiting for it to change, but so far since my milk came in Sasha only wakes me once at night as well! She usually has a feed around 3am after a 6 hour stretch, but last night she went from 8pm to 4am! 8 hours! I couldn't believe it, and as soon as she made a peep I grabbed her out of the bassinet and fed her as my boobs were so sore!!!
Peony, I looked at Sasha's picture on Facebook--ADORBLE! I bet the others are stunning as well. :)
Sawyer eats every 2-3 hours during the day, but he has been sleeping for a good 6 hour stretch at night, which is amazing. I think it is because he is so big!
I have a question..... I had PP bleeding for 3 weeks after the baby was born, and then it finally tapered off, but never went away completely. I had spotting every since, some days lighter than others. Then, 2 days ago, it started back up, but the blood looks old (brownish), or pinkish. What is going on?
Peony - Sadie's sleeping for 8 hours stretches at night now too. Isn't it wonderful? None of my boys slept that well. In fact, the twins are 6 and ds3 is 3 and they STILL each wake up at least once a night wanting something from me!
Hobber - my pp bleeding was very strange too. I only bled for about 5 days then it seemed to stop completely. Then, at about 4-5 weeks it started up again quite heavily. Remember I thought it might be my period coming back? Luckily that seems not to be the case since I haven't had any more bleeding since and that was 5 weeks ago. I think pp bleeding can just be really wonky, starting and stopping.
Speaking of pp bleeding, I am back in hospital as I started bleeding pretty heavily at 6 o'clock this morning. Have lost over 1 litre and am waiting to see the OB. Apparently I am white like the sheets. Is a bit scary as I think I may well need a D&C. It has all been so easy up until now. I've not had this happen before.
Hobber, your bleeding sounds fine as it is not bright red fresh blood. It is normal for it to stop and start a bit for a while.
How awful, peony! I hope they get you well soon so you can go home.

Sure enough I needed a D&C to clean out a small piece of retained placenta. I lost over 2 litres of blood so feeling pretty crap. Will be in hospital for a couple of days as I need antibiotics to prevent an infection and likely a blood transfusion. Glad it happened today at least and not when DH was back on the mine 3 hours away. Poor guy was completely picturing raising 3 kids on his own. And as usual Sasha has been perfect throughout. I fed her before theatre and she has been asleep since.
Peony, how scary!! I am glad you are okay. I had hemorrhaging with both my sons' deliveries, and lost a lot of blood. It is a frightening experience! I hope you recover quickly!
I am so glad to hear you are doing ok Peony!!! How scary!! I wish you a quick recovery!
Eeek, how scary!! I have a friend who had the same thing happen. At least Sasha was super good for you. Picture on FB looks beautiful, btw.
Ivy is still growing slow, but she's up to 9lbs 2oz now. We had to go to a dietitian that was basically just trying to scare me. And she kept talking about Ivy "losing" weight which was driving me nuts because the only time she lost was right after she was born, duh. She's still on the charts AND that's just counting it as normal newborn, not preemie status. Ugh. Just frustrated with the docs right now. She eats fine, her output is fine, and she is meeting milestones at a normal pace. Why isn't that good enough? Everyone is pushing formula on me and I really want to succeed at breastfeeding since I had to stop at 4 months with my DS.
Lynxie, you need to do what is right for your baby! It sounds like Ivy is doing well--she just may be a petite little girl! My DD2 is like that. At 2 1/2 years, she still fits into some 18-24 month stuff. Anyway, don't do formula if you don't want to. I bet Ivy is just fine!
Peony - glad you're ok!
Lynxie - don't let them bully you. Ivy sounds like she's doing great. Those growth charts piss me off anyway because they were created to describe the typical growth of a formula fed baby not a BF one. Ivy is a preemie and will likely be a little peanut for a while. Stay strong - you're doing an awesome job!

Yeah Lynxie, you know your little girl best. Just smile and nod your head to those people who like the sound of their own voices and do what works for you. It is great that Ivy is doing so well. They should be giving you a pat on the back for persisting when things have been difficult.
