Question for those on clomid: how long were you TTC before getting on clomid? Do you have to be a certain age or go a certain amount of time before a doctor will consider it for you? I'm only 30 but I got pregnant on my first cycle TTC with my two kids so going on month 5 without a BFP is starting to concern me.

We have made our attempt for april/may! We did it last night even though I didn't get an opk+ cause I panicked and thought we missed O. Saturday I got a little EWCM and cramping and I thought it was close. The cervix felt a little bit softer (sorry TMI!) but still no opk+ even though line was pretty strong. Then yesterday line got fainter, I was superdry, no ewcm at all (but that could be the effect of a vaginal stuff I took with pH 4,5), cervix felt a lot more closed and hard and I started googling those cheap opk:s I have. Seemed a lot of ppl got strong lines, but not fully positive even though they hav O, so I got so scared we missed our chance. Then I figured why not just bd in case I would have O:ed just recently and would still be fertile, otherwise it would be an early attempt.
But today I got the opk+ (of course). Since one attempt is getting such good results we will stick to yesterdays attempt and hopefully it's not too early. Cervix is super soft (sorry TMI again!) but no EWCM so I am skipping antihistamines.
I am so hoping to get pg now, just wanna get off the diet and swaying!

Hey ladies! Looks like I'm in for May as well, started spotting today :( April was a crazy hard month for me physically but I hope May is lucky for all of us! I'm still deciding what to add/change. I did mucinex every day last month and upped my fluids but my body hates me! Had to switch my diet up to deal with Sjogrens crap so I really hope things work out pink if/when we ever get pregnant! Our boys took 3 cycles and this will be 6 for us 👎 hubs was asking about adoption tonight, which I'm not opposed to at all (I'm adopted)...but I really want a newborn and I'm afraid that's not in the cards if we try to adopt :-/

I am getting scared we did the attempt too early after all. Opk was still positive this morning, about the same strength of line as last night. Wondering when the egg will actually release? And when cervix is getting soft, is that when the little swimmers go inside waiting for egg, or do they start their journey even before (but how, guess the cervix is closed)?
Oh, maybe we should add an attempt on thursday morning, 3,5 days after last attempt? Just in case I O late? (But by then I would probably have o:ed already.) I don't know, feeling a bit stressed and wanted to up my chances of pg this month...
Ok, had to write down possible scenarios for this ovaluation. Unfortunately I am not temping so I can't rely on that (seem like a good way to know when O has occured!)
Sunday 11 pm - BD (opk neg)
Monday 8 am - opk strong but neg
Monday 6 pm - opk+
Tuesday 8 am opk+
Instructions on my opk says that O occurs within 24-48 hours after +, that would be from tonight until thursday morning? Or should I only count from first +opk? That would be on wed night at the latest. One attempt with three day cut off - not great chances of getting pg right?:worry:
hi Marika - I am pretty sure that atomic counts from first positive OPK - if you are this worried i would definitely start a new thread or ask her. Monday night may have been the surge going up and tuesday morning may have been the surge coming back down if that makes sense? Not that I am an expert at all, I really think atomic or someone with more OPK experience is best placed to advise. If you want to up your chances of PG and are worried that you havent ovulated yet, then maybe BD tonight if you are OK with 2 attempts? I am just thinking of what I would do because like you I just want to be PG now. Good luck with deciding x

Yeah, I might start a thread to ask about it. Two attempts feels really risky - I think I saw stats going down a lot with more than one. Oh, why did I have to get so stressed over missing it and bd so early?
I am sure that atomic or someone will put your mind at ease - pretty certain that you only count from the first positive which means your timing is perfect. However given the luck I have had with OPKs and my lack of expertise its best to get other opinions.
Hey marika if you BD at first pos opk , which it sounds like you did that was the right one I have asked atomic myself as I always get two pos opks, that said I would not stress as long as you BD on one OR the other you are still in with a good chance! Good luck honey third time lucky xxxx
Arimethia maybe start a new thread about clomid? It has great results for pink but I thought you could only get it if you are losing ovulation? Again atomic will know!! Honey I hear you on cycle attempts!! I'm on my 4th and its hard. What have you dropped?

Thanks kitkat! Well, we BD 24 hours before first positive so thats why I am afraid there will be a too long cut off, depending on when egg actually releases.
Started a new thread about it so hopefully atomic can give me some advice.
Three days should be the longest, but hopefully I'll o sooner, like tonight, and then it'll only be 48 hours.

Marika - if you want to increase your chances of pregnancy, then I would go ahead with the second attempt. I DTD a day before my positive last month and here I am....I'm sure that isn't true for everyone, but this month I'm taking a different approach. I'm on a mission! I plan to DTD Thursday and again on Sunday. I don't know if that counts as 4 days or 3 days between attempts, but I want a baby and I want it NOW :P So I'm fiddling around.
I forget, how many cycles is this for you? It's only my second and I'm dang impatient!!!

Angie - I just took a new opk, it was negative. I have had really intense cramping on right side and a bit nausea today so I am hoping egg is releasing now. I'll stick to this one attempt; if I o now it'll be around 40-48 hours from attempt. Stats are just so much better for one attempt so I don't wanna risk anything by having 2 attempts so close (not even two days). This is our third attempt, but I felt impatient even before staring to ttc!
As for every 4 days I am a bit uncertain, but I would probably BD thursday and then monday again if aiming on 4 days gap. But not sure though, I am sure someone else knows better! Good luck to you!
Well I took 3 opks today, 1230, 230 and 430, definite lines but all negative. The test was blank on Sunday and very very faint line yesterday. Praying that this is an actual fade in pattern and I get a positive tomorrow. Hardly drank any water all day, I've only had about 1.5 litres and usually I have 2-2.5 by now! Will have to BD tomorrow night now at any rate because overseas friends have now invited themselves tomorrow night, will arrive at 11pm and I think they are staying for a few days so we will leave for holiday before they leave...
Opk's Aaaarrrgggh. I'm now thinking I may have missed my window. Took two yesterday. Nearly positive but not. This morning I wasn't quite sure so thought by tonight it would be positive but I've just taken it and its more faint. Any ideas what this means? Feeling annoyed with myself for not instigating bd this morning but was trying to be 'cool' about it. Something I'm really not, naturally! Do you think the window of opportunity has passed? Thoughts welcome. Thanks :)
Hi looby - I don't think you have had your positive yet hon. Sometimes we will get faint lines sometimes we will get blanks, they are the same result. Some ladies get a fade in pattern but not all. When I had that awful 95 day cycle I had some days with faint lines of varying degree and some days with blanks.
These blinkin opks are such pains!!!
Also - I am definitely not an expert or experienced user of opks! So definitely listen to the other ladies.
Do you normally O at the same cycle day every month?
Thanks for you thoughts Stephk. I normally would get positive opk tomorrow but this cycle has been odd as started a week before AF with horrid spotting. The nearly positives were pretty dark but not completely the same colour as the control and one side of the test line was darker than the rest. Atomic suggested we bd day before +opk due to me having a wobbly 3 weeks on the diet.
I'm really trying to not get too detailed about this but it's hard.

Marika - yes I am praying it is coming!!! Having whole milk tonight and avocado tomorrow (staying within totals) in the hope that some good fat will encourage things along! I have acupuncture again tomorrow too. Hope it's positive tomorrow so we can BD - my DH is out on thurs.
Sounds like a great plan! Have heard quite a few success stories about acupuncture, fx that yours will be one of them this month!

OPKs are def a stress factor for me too! I think the cheap ones are really difficult to interpret especially when is nearly +. It's like :"is it? Or isn't it? " wait or don't wait???? Argh!
On our first month TTC, I thought it wasn't quite a + so decided to wait for our attempt and next day it was a lot fainter. (Wtf?) I was in a real panic and we bded asap to get at least one attempt. I never thought we would caught the egg but we did. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be a viable pg....just thought I would share my experience. Anything is possible with these OPKs ;-)
I'm still waiting for AF too, but we have started to bd every 4 days now just in case and at least it feels like we r doing something. :-)
Argh DH has REALLY peed me off tonight I am glad it wasn't positive today!!!!!!
Lavie, yes it is so annoying and add the factor that you want it to be positive so your eye plays tricks on you on top of that!!
Steph you should take another test, the day DH made me super mad I got a positive that night! The anger brought on my ovulation I think! haha

About ewcm - I had just a little of it on saturday (when test was neg) and then almost nothing during these positive days. And about opk:s - i think they are best to take in evening or afternoon, in opposite to preg tests.
So if you have a lot of sticks, why not have another test. That anger might have some magic power :bigsmile:
Well I couldn't resist taking one - and phew it was negative - exceedingly faint line, I could only see it because the lights in my bathroom are so bright! Hoping for a pos tomorrow now that tomorrow is our only BD opportunity until Sunday now...
Steph, mine wasn't positive until 10:30 at night. I had taken one at 7pm and it was super light negative.
