Ds 1--- 16.9
Ds2-----17.8
Ds3----21.8
Mine are:
Ds1 = 18.3
Ds2 = 19.1
NOT athletic, sporty or muscly.
Great idea by the way :)
My current pregnancy started at 22.1and is a girl. My other two are already on the list.
Sorry to be a pain just notice you have me wrong on list
Girl 26
Boy 34
I was pretty much the same weight for both my sons which would make me have a bmi of 24.3 (a lot more muscle than fat).
My BMIs
Ds1: 25,3
Ds2: 25,8
At the moment my bmi is 22,5, hope it sways pink in the future :-)
My BMI's
DS1.... 17.8
DS2... 18.6
DS3... 18.3
Now I am at 16.6 but I am having a hard time conceiving, so I need to get my BMI up but that will sway boy....So when I do get a BFP it will probably be another boy!
My height is 6ft. I have a thin build but the whole weight loss/gain, diet etc really does prove right for me
I weighed 10st 6 or 7 (149lbs) BMI 20.3 when we conceived DS - not heavy but my heaviest. We were eating badly, not much fruit veg etc at the time. Loads of big stress in my life then too.
I weighed 10st 0 or less (140) BM1 19.1 when we conceived DD. We were eating very well. much less stress, and DH was running 30+ miles per week.
Not much of a weight difference I suppose but at my height I cant go much below.
I can lose 2-3 pounds in a few days if I so much as have a cold and am a little off food. I have a very active job and family life plus high metabolism I think..
Anyway just to say for me anyway the theories proved right :-)
With my DS1 I was only 15 and my BMI 19.2, I was not athletic but I suppose I was energetic since I was only a teen :(
With DS2 I was 20 but it was my first time going out and I had been going dancing before conception. My BMI was 19.8
Now my BMI is 22.11, but I'm not as healthy or active. I weeze very easy from working out or doing anything active. But I'm still in a healthy weight.
I want a girl this time! (first planned pregnancy!)
I love this thread! It's so interesting.
DS1 - BMI 20 - had been on a two month honeymoon and ate my way through the whole vacation. Had lost lots of weight for the wedding and had gained a bit over the honeymoon.
DS2n- BMI 22.5 - had been running alot, so quite muscular and fit
I am 5'7".
DS1: 125
DS2: 132
19.3 both times boys
With all 3 boys, 19.5.
firt Boy my bmi was 19.
second Boy 19.8
I am 170cm tall and was 70kg when I conceived my boy - I have an athletic/muscular shape and was doing weights 3/4 times a week, yoga once and pilates once a week.
I'm 5'5"
DS1: About 140lbs, BMI about 23
DS2: 126lbs, BMI 21 (lowest adult weight)
Both DS1 and DS2 my BMI was 22, for DS3 (due in 6weeks) my BMI was 18
First boy (lost @20wks) BMI = 22
DD1 = BMI 22
DS1 = BMI 27
DS2 = BMI 29
DS3 = BMI 32
DS4 = BMI 30
TTC DD2 = BMI (so far) 27 and lowering :)
Since it can only help to have more data, here is some off the top of my head:
my older half sister has 2 girls, both conceived in late 30s, her BMI is 18.5 (she's very fit & muscular, a personal trainer)
one of my best friends has 3 boys, conceived in later twenties/early 30s, her BMI is 17 (vegetarian runner, Martha type, very competitive professionally)
Personally I doubt BMI has much to do with it, as individual health probably matters most and that isn't based on very specific BMIs.
I am 5 ft. Have had 5 kids.
1) Girl- weight was 95 pounds (yes I was underweight at this time).
2) Boy- weight was 110 pounds
3) Boy- weight was 115 pounds
4) Boy- weight was 120 pounds
5) Girl- weight was 120 pounds. (BUT this is a healthy weight, I was even fitting into cloths from before I was pregnant with baby 1!! We were working out and I had visible abs...lol) (should mention that, this pregnancy was the first since number 1 that we had truly been working out regularly).
ds 1--118 lbs (I am 5'5)
dd--108 lbs
ds2--120 lbs
ds 3--125 lbs, but working out and super muscly, bodya fat was where I am at 112-115 lbs.
HTH!
i agree BMI probably doesn't indicate much on an individual level, but if Trivers Willard does work for swaying we should see a trend across the entire population where lower BMI = more girls conceived even if it's only by a couple of percentage points. :) This isn't a matter of "what magic BMI will sway", it's a matter of what this data indicates overall for swaying.
Not sure what my BMI was with the boys but I was about 5-7 lbs heavier. So maybe I was 18.5+. The past 3 months I have lost some weight, I am now underweight and my BMI is low too about 17.4
DD1/2 around 18.. I have been on HE diet and now 20. For me, this is partly muscular, since my clothes fit similarly, just visible muscular changes and a bit of healthy weight.
2 boys, one at 20.5 and the other at 18.5 not muscular at all
Don't know bmi. .but I was at my heaviest when I conceived my son. .around 135 to 140 #
