I would not take those kind of test seriously. I have heard of them and was tempted to try - but did not want to spend the money when I read about so many wrong reviews. Let's face it -- they are right at least 50% of the time.
EVERYONE keeps asking me when I will find out! A few people know I have a scan this week but I am not telling anyone the day. I don't want a million phone calls. When I'm ready to say something I will.
My gf called last night to wish my son a happy birthday and was asking "what day?" - I told her I'm just not saying and I'll call you when I'm ready. She was so pushy..."just tell me what day!". No ---leave me alone! I feel like can't people just respect the time you need for yourself? Part of me truly thinks she wants to hear "its another boy" and she'll be smirking behind the scenes. She's one of those friends where underneath it all they are just never happy for you. I can't explain it.
Double post
My SIL is like that!! I have 3 boys and she has twin boys. She DESPERATELY wanted a girl because she thought our in-laws favor my kids and if she had a girl then they would like her child more. So when I got pg this time, she was just dying to know the gender. She wanted to be there when we cut our gender reveal cake and I told her no because I knew she wanted to be there because she was hoping it was another boy. I told her 3 weeks ago it's a girl and she hasn't said not one word to me since. Pathetic.
In a way it makes me feel a bit relieved that mine wasn't `self-tested', it was done with blood samples in vials as it is also a screening test, not only gender, thanks for that info, it makes me feel more confident in my Harmony results. Harmony claims an accuracy of 99%, not 95%.
I would be shocked if you had a boy after seeing that ultrasound picture, seriously, there's nothing there that suggests you are carrying a boy. Are you doing another scan later on the pregnancy?
It amazes me how rude people can be! You obviously didn't want to share that information with her! I do know what you mean about 'friends' that will be happier to find out that you didn't get you hoped for than the opposite. I have one of those, and honestly, I told everyone I care about and she only found out second hand! She wasn't pushy, but even before I fell pregnant she gave me this vibe that she found all this swaying thing wrong and secretly wished I was pregnant with a boy just to prove a point! It's your pregnancy, your timing should be respected, tell them to back off! :)
Mumto3boys, I was reading about the test you did online. Are you aware you can get a refund for false result? I'm sure you would have checked in advance, but I would definitely get my money back!
WTH????? Now that I spent the whole weekend stressed out of my head about that damn antibody they found in my blood the Doctor just called to say that the test he asked to see what antibody it was came back totally negative! Whatever antibody the test detected at first is gone! Now, that's very good news but makes you wonder what the hell happened? He said some testing devices are extremely sensitive and subject to error. So I guess it's all back to good news! Happy to be :pregnant: but oh, the rollercoaster! :)
Aidansmum I wouldn't be worried at all about your results as it was done professionally and not a DIY job at home. Yours will be correct. I wish my hospital would give me an idea about gender today at my 12 week scan but they won't even tell me at my 20 weeks. (silly hospital rules) that's why I have to wait for a private scan at 16 weeks . Will post my scan today and maybe you can all guess.
