Nah, hunni, not rude at all! No, I don't think we can. I had a phone consultation with a clinic here, and we'd need to essentially pay $700 a month for 7 years...that is, if it works. I just can't see that being a good idea for us. If we didn't have any kids at all, I think I would consider it. We may change our minds in a couple of years and say, hey, this is important enough to us to make huge sacrifices to afford this, but not now. I want to continue to try naturally for a while longer. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to do IVF and throw a boy in there while I'm at it, but not for a while if ever. Honestly, the longer this goes on, the more I think I would be just fine if we never had one and I'm done....I really am ready to get out of this fat ttc suit I have on permanently now, lol. Thanks for asking though, ELP!
This has been proven to not be true after all....Shettles came up with this theory, which swaying has been based on for ever, but it turns out he was looking at capacitated and uncapacitated sperm, so that was the difference, not the X or Y. This is why we don't care about the timing as much....and why you see boys come from all sorts of timing, really. So, one less thing to worry about! But if you want to try the once and done approach, I say go for it, just try to dtd about 12-18 hours after your first positive opk, and take at least 2 opks a day so you really pinpoint when you think you get your surge.
I would MOST DEFINITELY take a regular prenatal with calcium. The no calcium is old IG stuff.....this site is kind of, um, evolved, and we believe more nutrients, including calcium, are best for ttc a boy. There were a lot of failed pink sways on IG back in the day, I remember, and a lot of them took tons of calcium, which is very curious. There are a bunch of threads about the "calcium conundrum" as we call it here, because that theory has also been pretty debunked. There is really no proof that the potassium/sodium thing really matters for boy/girl swaying, it was just hypothesized, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong here, though!
ELP, when is your big scan? Couple of weeks now, yea?
