I just got home from l&d, was having contractions every 5 minutes. Dilated to 4 but no additional progress so I was sent home to wait. Contractions have mostly stopped now.
Winni I thought when u were a 4 you were considered in active labour?? Hopefully things pick up for you hun xx
I was 7 cm when I went into to hospital to be induced and I was not even in Labour...??
oh and I was 36 weeks 3 days preg!!
Wow Pinkin.. I remember reading it when I had DS1 and when I got to hospital with him I was 4cm and contracting so I was admitted as they said I was in active labour. Couldnt imagine walking around at 7cm! That would have been a very quick induction for you lol With DS2 I was 6cm when I got to hospital but I had been contracting every 3 mins for an hour or more beforehand.
Mummypink - I hope everything is ok with you and you are just busy holding your beautiful new baby :)
Winni - have those contrax stayed away still?
When i went in with DD i was 4cm and contracting every 5mins so they broke my waters and gave me potocin drip and 9 hours later DD was born. They probably should have sent me home too, they just seemed to want to rush things along! Im going to wait till im 3mins between contractions this time.
I had him in 3 hrs but had an epidural so I think If I had of not had the epi and been able to move around I would of had him alot quicker... First ds had him in 4.5 hrs and that was only with using the gas!
Cinss I couldnt agree more with waiting - I was lucky in that they didnt rush me with inducing drugs with DS1, my hind waters had already broken at home but with DS1 being posterior I was in need of pain relief as I was in agony so was very happy to be there lol
DS2 was a breeze in comparison, got to hospital at 2.30am and had him 3 hours later at 5.25am - you definitely know your body second time around :)
I believe active labor is 5 cm but a lot of docs will keep you and break your water at 4 if you are having good strong contractions.
I'm suppose to go in immediatley when I notice regular contractions since I am vbac. I don't like it because I don't want to have to lie in the bed right away like they make me. Last time I woke up middle of the night with contractions two minutes apart and strong right away. I was almost a 5 when I got there and it took 4 hours. Hoping it's similar or less this time. 2 hours would be nice.
