I am a good example of why timing/frequency doesn't sway that much:
Boy #1: Abstinance with one shot deal (DH was visiting his parents prior)...total accidental pg, I believe we had a cut-off
Boy #2: Lots and lots of BD, multiple attempts before +opk and during and after (just had m/c, wanted to be pg quickly)
Boy #3: Perfect boy frequency, every 2 days...::snooze:: and did a cut-off in a light attempt for a girl

Boy #5: One attempt about 2 days before +opk, 3 days before +opk then one attempt THREE days after my +opk (scratch my head how I got pg there)
SO for me to do something different than with my boys is nearly impossible. LOL. I thnk my point is...go with the logic and YOUR body...low sperm=DDs and if you are a highly fertile woman (like...my DH's sperm are practically airborne, they can do gymnastics too), I would comfortable doing one attempt. If your DH's sperm can't do leaps across the room, and your body doesn't seem to be the ideal sperm incubator, then do more than one attempt.
