I completely understand how you feel. I felt that way exactly after I found out #3 was a girl. I was a wreck! But honestly, now that she is 2, she is really a funny, lovable kid. She has her moments (she is a little "spirited"), but overall, I really do adore her, and I can't imagine her not being here. :)Quote:

Tell me about this ...People didn't even say congratulations to me :( and shocked when they hear it's a boy. They're not happy for me at all :( I can cearly see that! Funny thing is, when I first got there we were talking about my pelvic problems and he said to me "No you can't have coils otherwise you wouldn't be pregnant" told him to look in my files and he did and his jaw dropped! "I've never seen this happen before" he says!!! lol
So kind of contradicting to tell me about contraception, don't you think? LOL
ZB I get this 1000%. I had to keep reminding myself that I wanted 3 kids regardless of gender, because once I found out it was girl #3 I really, really regretted getting pg again. And one of the things that helped me during my pg was knowing DH was OK with us going for a 4th. We even talked about it again this weekend; he's completely up for more kids. But here's the thing ... I don't know what I would change about my sway. Do you know what you'd do differently? I mean, I am SURE my sway "worked" because my body changed so much, but clearly even though I did it "right" it didn't work for me. So why try again? I honestly think for us to be able to have a 4th at this point I have GOT to get OK with a girl, and I don't think I'll sway again.Quote:

Flava FWIW when I got my BFP I wasn't happy at all. Even at the 1st u/s I left feeling in my gut that this was a bad idea. Finding out it was DD3 was just confirmation for me. It was such a hard pregnancy emotionally. I hope yours gets easier hun :hugs: If not vent here; you know there is no judging.

Hobber I find it interesting (and great!) that your GD with DD2 evaporated as she got older. I think part of the reason I am ok now is DD3 is a baby... just a sweet little one; babies are pretty gender neutral KWIM? I worry as she gets older and more girly, like 2, that I will have more GD.
I still can't believe I have 3 DD. All I ever wanted was boys and not a single one. Crazy how life works; I mean if 50% of people have 1 of each, and then 25% have boys, 25% have girls ... I had a 75% chance of being either PP or BB. And yet I fell in the 25% I least wanted. Oh well. They are healthy and I am 110% sure I wouldn't love a son more, or be more loved by my kids if they were boys, and I have to keep focusing on that.
Such a shame people aren't more kind re: more kids MFC! I know here it is completely acceptable to have 3 but 4 is pretty rare, so I am sure if we go for #4 we'll get oodles of comments too. Most I assume would focus on how we must be trying for a boy... and how can I really get too mad about what would be true.
In your shoes I would likely just answer that you feel blessed to welcome a 4th person into your family. Or not reply at all. After all, not saying anything usually makes people really uncomfortable and it's fun to watch them squirm when they realize their comment was rude.
ELP: He is sooo cute. Your pics just make me say, ahhhhh, to be able to sleep without leg cramps and a little fella playing in my belly. I am not ready to have him, but getting very sleep deprived.
MFC: I get more old ladies telling me how wonderful my children are than people with rude comments, but I don't handle them well. I always think of something sassy to say after the fact. Most of the time I just say, yep, we enjoy and love all of our children. I think alot of people think you must me opn goverment assists if you have a lot of children and that is just not true. I wish I had a good answer, but there will always be people that don't agree with things you do. I just love my children and teach them not to judge others as they sometimes do us.
I hope everyone had a great Easter. I have to catch up on laundry and dishes, I'll do more personals later :)
My friend just lost her baby boy, born 22 weeks gestation :(
Has really hit home for DH and I that our baby's health is way more important than gender...

Re: the comments about lots of kids, I read one mom say her comeback to "you must have your hands full" is "Not as full as my heart!" I thought that was sweet :) Though I don't get comments about the size of our crew, just the gender.
TTC5: I am so sorry. That is so sad. You are right sometimes we get too caught up in the gender. I am always so thankful for healthy children. I will keep your friend in my prayers.

im so sorry ttc5. thats when gender disappointed disappeared for me. we lost our daughter at 22 weeks. it was a kick in the face as i had been so upset she wasn't a boy. honestly after that gender isn't even importnant anymore.
im holding strong at 3cm still. i might be stupid but i think im ok. really i may remain a 3 for the rest of the pregnancy and maybe its just the fact this is my 10th pregnancy that has made me dialate so early. for some reason im not freaked out anymore and i can see myself remaining pregnant until 40 weeks.
Hey girlmom yep have heard those who have had babies before can be a few cm dialated anyway.

Girlmom, I am SO glad you are holding steady now. I hope all continues to go that way and think it's good that you feel in your heart that you can make it to 40 weeks. What you think about will come about!
TTC5, that is heartbreaking.....I am so sorry to hear that. You are completely right about health being more important than gender.
MFC, I would think of a couple of good comeback lines and have them in your back pocket. I have said this in a couple of threads before, but I feel much better about situations where I gave the commenter a good kick in the mouth with a comeback. Serves them right, and they deserve to be taught to keep their mouths shut with comments about other people they don't know (and even more so if they DO know you). I am so not a mean person, but I feel like that kind of confidence carries forward in all sorts of things....sticking up for your lovely family of 4 is something you should do. If someone said, "Oh my you will have your hands full!"....I would probably retort will "Oh will I? Thanks for letting me know since you know my children and me so well. You must have your hands full being the Grand Commentator of Society. It seems like you are doing a swell job of telling strangers how their lives are going to be. Keep up the good work."
Seems harsh, but it bugs me to read posts over and over about ladies here getting comments about having 4 kids or all boys or all girls or whatever. I say stick up for yourself and don't be afraid to tell that person to shove off. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake of saying idiotic things to another sweet mama and ruining her day too.

Thanks Hobbs :) My DD2 sounds much like yours ... total animal, but hilarious. LOVE her. I'm sure I'll adore this one too. I think I'm just always going to have this part of me that feels like I'm missing out a bit by not having a DS. I just have to get better about not letting that part of me rob the rest of me of the joy I have in my 3 precious daughters. And for the most part I don't but I definitely have my moments where I still get pouty about it... I had another person IRL announce she's having DS after 2DD and it just brought back way too many emotions, KWIM? But overall I am doing SO much better than I thought I would with all of this. I'd probably be doing even better if DD3 could sleep for more than an hour at a time :)Quote:

Girlmom - so glad you're home, everything feels so much better in your own space. I too love hugging a little one when times are tough, after my last m/c I cuddled dd3 and cried and cried. She made it all so much better.

We got a little grief about having 4 until people heard that we were having a boy, now they ant to know if we are going to try for another boy even though no one knows we swayed. Some times people just suck.

3P1B: "sometimes people just suck." So true :) Happy to see you here and thanks for the encouragement re: DD3! I gotta say she is a FUSSBUCKET lately! And won't sleep for more than 45 minutes straight ... and I confess I sometimes look at her and think "this would be SO much more worth it if you were a boy." :oops: It's weird because overall I'd say my GD has improved tremendously in that I am happy with my girls, I think if I'd had all boys I would have ended up wishing for a DD, but I definitely still have gender desire. I wish that would go away.
So are you going to find out 5 or wait?!?! FIND OUT. All those nub votes?!?! Sure seems like you're going to hear BOY :)
B - dd3 had severe reflux, she would cry nonstop for hours at a time. I thought the same thing though, better if she was a boy. Terrible what pops into your brain sometimes. This time I'm wishing he was one of my girls, they were great sleepers. He's still waking up 3-4 times a night even though we are co-sleeping and often will only nap on the boob. If he does fall asleep he's a pretty light sleeper so I usually wake him trying to move him. Ugh this little guy has made things difficult almost from the beginning.
I feel the same way, if I had 3 boys I would have swayed for a girl. Damn that GD, you just can't win lol
Thanks for empathizing re: the DD3 thoughts. I think our sways influenced more than gender because it sounds like your DS1 and my DD3 have the same sleep issues! Seriously, it is just like you described. She'll nap after nursing, if I hold her, for hours. But try to lay her down even after letting her get into a good, solid sleep??!? Scream fest. BAH.
I never coslept with the others but am with her because she won't sleep any other way. It's ridiculous. Crazy baby.
Begonia, not sure yet... funny enough I am still not convinced I will hear boy though!
