That's odd that they r so concerned. Are you fairly thin in general? I am 25 weeks & up 9 pounds from my pregnancy low but still down about 6 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. My doc hasn't really expressed any concern so far.... BUT I am far from thin.

This dr mentions my weight every time I go in, I've never had that happen before. I've found this kind of odd. Usually the comments are, "your gaining weight nice and slow," but I guess after 7 weeks of no weight gain she's kind of surprised.
Yes, I'm usually a size 0 or 2 but muscular. I do triathlons and am a fitness instructor so it would be safe for me to gain more weight but not excessive of course. I think since baby is fine, and I had a reason why I hadn't gained in the past 3 weeks (stomach virus) she was ok with. Not sure why I had only gained 1/2 pound between the 4 weeks before that. I think they have to make sure there I am not doing it on purpose - anorexia, bulimia, drugs, etc. you never know what some people will do.

dpike do you work out a lot while pregnant too? I'm normally very thin to other people's standards but normal on the charts but for whatever reason I gain gain when pregnant- still normal ish 35 lbs or so but it definitely feels faster this time around.
Well, I know they may be concerned that baby is getting enough and may lead to growth restriction as if you are thin there aren't a lot of fat stores for the body to burn if needed like there would be in my case.
Although, my high risk specialist's office may end up crapping bricks when I see them on Wen. I am having to test my blood sugar and keep a journal of what I eat and how much. I eat very little per sitting and lately been eating 2x a day as I follow my hunger and only eat when hungry. For example, I am supposed to test 4x a day (fasting and after breakfast, lunch and dinner) but only been testing 3x (fasting and after my 2 meals). They said they didn't want me to change my eating habits so I see no need to force feed myself a 3rd meal. But in addition to that, as I said, I don't eat much per sitting. .. esp now that everything feels so crowded in there. Like for lunch today (didn't eat breakfast) I had an egg (well done :( I like over easy) with cheese and mayo on an english muffin. I didn't even finish it. I ate about 2/3rds and handed it to DH because I was full. *I* am not concerned because I am not losing weight, she has been plenty active and I have a good amount of fat my body could easily burn for extra if necessary, but I don't think it is as the body would send out a hunger signal if more calories were needed before burning fat stores and I eat according to hunger which has been pretty minimal lately. Doc is still gonna flip, I think, though.

I bet they will too. I'm expected to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I don't have the time, the stomach room, nor the appetite for that! I'm managing to eat 3 tiny meals most days, but am miserable afterward and lately have been throwing up after eating again. I've started packing on 2-4 lb a week since 28 weeks though, so I'm assuming it has to be from fluid retention as I'm getting super puffy.
That's what happens to me if I try to force feed myself so I see no point. I end up sick and miserable and all for nothing.

I am having none of these eating issues you ladies speak of. Lol. Though I definitely have to eat less per sitting because otherwise I end up really uncomfortable but I still like to eat...a lot.
After my appointment Monday the doctor I saw seemed to think I'd go into labor in the next 1-2 weeks because of my cervix shortening so quickly. Well, now today I started losing globs of my mucus plug and I can't stop pooping, which always happens before I go into labor. Based on past pregnancies that could be anywhere from 2-7 days from now. With my luck it'll be on Monday because we're having a Fourth of July party for my mom's birthday and then we'd have to cancel it. LOL
If u go to ER would they give you the steriod shot? Or do u think your docs office might reconsider if u tell them?

You only get a steroid shot if you're dilated over a certain amount and/or having regular contractions per guidelines. L&D won't give them unless I meet that criteria. Neither will the stupid lady covering for my doctor. I already called and was told I could get the shot when I meet criteria for it. They are also onky given up to 32 weeks. Some places will give them up until 37 weeks, but evidence shows limited or no benefit after 32 weeks. That means I have a week left to try to get the shot.
I wonder, if u go in, if you might now since your body seems to be in a hurry.

Not dilated, maybe only fingertip at most.
Darn, no shot. Hopefully it means the twins will get extra time though.

Boy on top, girl on bottom. They are so crowded in there it was hard to get any pics of their faces.
Oh, so cute, Bunnygirl!! Hope those adorable faces stay put for you a little longer.
I'm just back from four days visiting my sister and her newborn baby boy. Ohmigosh, I forgot they start out so little! You'd think I would know that, but I was shocked how tiny he was. He started out about 6lbs8oz—two weeks early—but still bigger than my smallest! Wow. I've got to buy some small baby clothes just in case mine is that small. He was so stink cute though. I'm in love. SO hard to leave him.
Ditto here. I have to eat really small meals or I feel sick. I'm usually a big eater—probably why I'm a *tad* overweight to begin with—but not at all this pregnancy. I can do 3 meals and a snack, but they're all pretty little. About half the size of a regular meal. I'm up about 7 lbs from where I started total...but I did lose a bit during the first trimester, and I did start out at my heaviest adult weight.
I know with my first child, I was at my lowest adult weight—not underweight, but certainly on the slimmer side—and I gained almost 40 lbs. So the range of normal can be huge, right?
Yup. With my first I gained 60 (70 if u count what I lost to begin with. With my second I only gained 20.

Wow those are huge ranges ladies. I am happy to report that in the last 4 weeks I've only gained about 1.5 lbs! My midwife actually laughed at herself and apologized for being overly concerned last time. I'm still going to try to be decent with my eating and will definitely continue to work out but I don't feel so worried now.
I am thinking my real gaining is yet to come (I always gain most of my weight during the 3rd tri). I am nervous to see how much I will gain by the time it's all over because it's always extremely difficult for me to lose preg weight. My weight gain thus far has had no pattern. One week I'll gain 2 pounds, nothings the next, lose a pound the next, a few ounces the next. I think my hope of staying at or below starting weight is out the window though. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow and will deliver at the end of week 38 so I have just over 12 weeks until she is here. If I only gain a pound a week (which is like dreamland thinking) I'll gain 12 pounds putting me 5 pounds above starting weight... which isn't bad but I highly doubt that will be the case. Guess time will tell.

I'm up 40 lb, but it fluctuates a lot. I think part of that is fluid retention issues.
Yes I'm still working out but not much. I don't know why I didn't gain the 1 st 4 weeks btwn dr apts but I know why I didn't gain the btwn the 3 weeks after that-stomach bug. Pretty sure my appetite is back and will be gaining again.
I too don't have room to eat too much at a meal. Trying to eat smaller meals these days.
Bunnygirl- sounds like those babies are coming soon. Their sonogram pics are adorable! A friend of mine just had her twins at 31 weeks and they are in the hospital for a month but doing good. Baby b wasn't getting good blood flow so they took them out. You won't have those problems thankfully. 40 pounds sounds good for twins-they'll work that right off you too!

At least I'm not huge from behind. DH says I don't even look pregnant from the rear. LOL
You look fab BG. Good luck with everything. Doesn't sound like it will be very far away now.
I've been on a major organizing/nesting bender. I've organized every single item of children's clothing we own from 7-0000 in boys, girls and into gender neutral piles. I just had to get it all done. Feels good too! I also organized my MCN's and my change table since we are still using that. I haven't washed the gender neutral newborn stuff yet, but it is ready for me to do one week when I am ready. I have heaps of time left given I am only 25 weeks, but I feel better for having a big job out of the way, and now I can do the little fun stuff and get myself a pamper pack made for after the birth.

Well, I'm admitted now, 2.5 cm dilated and getting magnesium to slow labor so I can get in the two doses of steroid shots. I'm so miserable!! I'm hooked to so many lines and monitors I can't really move much at all. :(
Bella I LOVE organizing, purging and cleaning...it's my thing. Lol

Lala, I haven't done much purging just yet. But it is organised so I can do that bit at a time once we know gender.
Speaking of gender, I am in a much better place about this baby possibly being a girl. Going thru all of my girls clothes again, I see how adorable some of them are and I'm reminded of how sweet little girls are. I can honestly say if we get another little girl I don't think I will grieve, but will just enjoy the time with another little sweetie. And that's really a relief. I don't want to be worried about GD. I can honestly say now that apart from the desire to give my little boy a brother, I am sure I will be just fine with whatever gender we find ourselves holding in the end.

It's funny with one of each I thought I didn't care. Then I thought I really wanted a girl which is interesting because my girl is a terror . Once I found out it was a girl suddenly I was grieving the boy I wouldn't have and now I feel mostly ok again...gender and gd is a bizarre thing.
Being taken back for my c-section in a few minutes. 5.5 cm dilated and bulging waters.
No pics yet since I haven't seen them, but Dalton is 4 lb and Ophelia is 2 lb 15 oz.
Congratulations! (I have been following the thread for the past few days meaning to post as well as I am also due in September...)
