Pink swayers' December thread

So...I was out all morning doing Christmas shopping, and I kept getting a sharp pain in my left groin. I think usually my O pains are a little higher, more on my side - maybe this was something else? Anyway, when I got home I felt a little (sorry for the TMI) 'wet' down there, so I went to check my cm. EWCM!! Not a ton of it, but definitely stretchy. Hopefully this is a sign that O will come in a couple of days. I've been holding my pee all morning for an OPK and I think I'm going to try to wait another hour at least to make sure I get a really good sample. I want to see either a + or at least a nice, dark line that's starting to look close to +! I'll let you all know what happens!

The OPK was negative, but darker than yesterday, so there's still hope.

So now I face the question: should we dtd tonight or not. DH has released every day for 6 days. We had been planning to have him release for 7 days before making our attempts, but now that I have ewcm, I'm eager to get started. My biggest fear is that I'll miss the egg entirely, though in the past I usually get several days of ewcm before I actually O.

What would you all do in my situation? If we dtd tonight, I'd have dh release once first. If I don't end up Oing until CD16, it will mean 4-5 attempts, which is more than I'd planned for, but if I O on CD13, which isn't unprecedented for me, it would mean 3 attempts, which is about what I was aiming for.

Should I be patient and wait and trust in those OPKs and my history that I still have at least 2-3 days until O? Is it just wishful thinking that I might O early? Just as a reminder, I'm not planning to use rephresh, though if we ended up having 5 attempts I might use a bit to try to keep the sperm levels down a bit....

Tough call, Mocha, I feel ya on this...where you want to get started but....

this is going aganist much of my advice (which has been DO IT!!) but I'd think maybe better to let him just release tonight on his own and start DTDing tomorrow night?? I do think it would be OK too to DTD once he dropped the first batch.

It's so tempting! I know I am going to break the girl rules and DTD lots if I can get my husband up! haha!

You're probably right, auroara - I severely doubt O is going to surprise me and come tomorrow since that's never happened before (I usually get days of ewcm first), but since this is my first cycle after my m/c, I just don't know what's going to happen... I'm also concerned because I don't really know when CD1 was - this could be CD11 today, and having O arrive at CD12 would be a little early but not crazy early. FWIW, I'm getting cramps and pains like crazy right now and my cervix is very soft and open.

Hmm, well now I may change my mind on this :) if you're getting O pains and your cervix is even changing, it may very well come early since it is after m/c.....

I was looking back at my previous charts, and I've never gotten O within a day of getting ewcm. When I go back and read my notes for my summer cycles, almost every day from CD10 on I think O must be happening right now (comments like 'my cervix is so open I could stick my whole finger in there'...3 days before O), but it never came earlier than 13 dpo, and by the time I conceived in September it was 16dpo.

I dunno...maybe I should use a fingerful of rephresh now, ask dh to release as soon as the kids are in bed (8ish) then dtd around 10-11? Or maybe I should stick to my original plan and hold off using rephresh this cycle and just have 2-3 attempts after I get a +OPK. I just lost all my trust in OPKs when I didn't get my + last cycle but FF still told me I ovulated. I was using digis and everything!

For what it is worth...I always say I have to trust my body!
I knew last week that my body was gearing up and I had the pains and everything. But, then I got sick.
Yesterday my o pains were harsh and I felt it was gearing up and fast...the opk was still negative and the cbfm was low still.
Then today....bam!
So, I assume I am ovulating now even though I often wonder if it is after the pain subsides or the next day or what!
(I cannot use temp bc sometimes it takes two days to rise and I am clearly without any EW or CM at all at that point).

Do you know girls? Do you o the day of peak on cbfm?

Is 5 attempts bad for some reason? I know it raises ph...but you will get more of a chance to get pg!
And so many women have girls after mc's.

Mocha - because you're stressing about it I think you should go for it. Use some Rephresh if you like, get DH to release and then start your daily DTD. I think it's better if you can stop trying to second guess your body and worrying about missing O - if O comes early you're ok and if it doesn't you're still ok! GL!
