Stephk - SMEP, just been reading up on that. DH thinks we should start dropping swap tactics after next attempt if no BFP. Need to start thinking what to change! I've lost track of how long you've been ttc this time round? If you have time it may still be worth sticking to one attempt at +opk. All depends on how long you can wait it out.
I came off BCP in Jan, and had a cycle of 95 days of pure and utter hell. I will give the one attempt a shot this time but as all I am doing is diet, exercise and one attempt, I think the candidate to be dropped for me is the one attempt because I think the diet and exercise are better. I just want to get PG and to be honest, i would rather hear 'boy' by getting PG now because I could still hear 'boy' in 6 months time. Maybe I will feel differently after my holiday but I have just lost patience with it all really.
what are you doing to sway and what are you considering dropping?
Totally get your frustration and it sounds like you're doing very well on the diet and exercise.
I'm doing vitex, fibre, diet, no exercise, one attempt, did try antihistamine this last attempt. J&D.

I have to be honest, my diet is pretty rubbish compared to a lot on here. I don't bother working out how much fat I've had. Protein is a rough calculation and I try to eat lower nutrient foods. I aim to have low fat but just lately I've been rebelling and then regretting and then rebelling!!!
Feel a bit of a sway failure really. I shouldn't have started so early. Christmas in the middle was very hard!!
Thinking about dropping LR and J&D, maybe antihistamine too. Need to give myself a kick up the bum with the diet. I'm missing granary bread and cereals!!! And blueberries, nuts and seeds!!
Not sure what else to drop.
Should also mention I've lost nearly 4 stone since doing the diet but seem to be stuck for the last few weeks.
I am right with you guys in the frustration department and I haven't been TTC nearly as long! This is only my second attempt but it feels like forever. Since it took me 3 years to convince DH to have another (and I'll be 36 in July) I just need to be preggo NOW :P
My OPK wasn't quite positive last night (almost, but not quite) and it was my last one, I went ahead and DTD. DH is away almost all weekend (I knew it would happen this way) and I won't have any alone time with him until Sunday night, I figured I'd just go for it. Unfortunately, DTD the night before positive OPK didn't work so well for me last month so not a lot of hope this month. I'm considering (as I previously mentioned) DTD again Sun (even though it's only a 3 day span).
I said it last month and I'm saying it again this month: I'm switching to my clearblue fertility montior if no BFP this month. Saves the stress of the OPK, IMO.

Your plan sounds good to me. It may have only been a couple of hours later for your positive. We just can't pin it down exactly which is hard! I think I will join you with the more expensive tests!

Looby - it sounds like you have the right attitude on the diet. You are eating less in general and you are losing weight. That is far better than someone obsessively analysing everything they eat. Definitely give yourself more credit for that. Yes I think if i was you i would consider dropping LR - that and J&D together is really lowering sperm numbers. Maybe drop LR and do a 2 min J&D? I would also continue your relaxed attitude to the diet. You can eat any bread you like and blueberries, in fact the only thing I dont eat on your list is cereal. Obviously I dont eat nuts every day for example but if I fancy some and its within totals i eat it.
Angie - I would have done the same in your position and would also BD on sunday if in your position. sometimes our BD works out to 3 days just because DH is going to be out or whatever I would rather that than miss the egg.

Steph- thanks for your advice. I need to start shifting a bit more weight but I think my alcohol consumption is stopping it!!! I did about a 5 min J&D last time. Could have been longer, didn't want to show I was considering the time after dtd!!!!

How bad is blowing your sodium out of the water for the pink sway in y'all's opinion? I'm doing great most days - but splurged today.
Also, if I have a major fall of the wagon meal (sushi with lots of soy and lots of fish) 4 weeks before our first TTC, what do you think is the impact? Am I better off to cheat with protein and sodium far in advance or closer to TTC in June?

sodium is the one to slurge on! I could not manage this diet if I actually tried to stick to the recommended sodium. I was informed that it is not believed it sways much (if at all). I don't think one "fall of the wagon meal" will have any impact on your overall sway. It's the overall that matters most.
Dreamingofawin -- are you really going to stay team green??? I say I will once I get my BFP, but don't know if I will be able to handle the suspence!
I had some lovely cheat food for lunch today :) Chicken pad thai (minus the chicken, haha) and 2 deep fried spring rolls...omg, so yummy. Guess it's going to be a whole cheat day since we are having pizza tonight .... oops :P But so yummy!

Yes 100%!! We never found out last time either, I just love the surprise. Luckily hubby thinks the same too x
Suzie - Atomic told me that sushi isn't really a cheat. I FRICKIN LOVE sushi! I used to have loads. Now I have it on occasion and yes eat a lot but less than before. Remember that less is still less. This will have no impact on your sway so enjoy!

Suzie - It seems a lot of ladies here don't count sodium. First week of LE I tried to limit sodium but then I realized that it is impossible for me to stay relaxed when having to monitor everything so I just stopped counting it. I am trying to think that I can't include every single sway factor in my sway without becoming crazy, so I just pick the ones that work for me.
About sushi - I LOVE IT! Used to have it at least 2-3 times a week but no I try to have it only occasionaly. Sometimes I have it veggie and then I don't even consider it a cheat. And even with fish and shellfish I wouldn't consider it a major cheat.

I started a pink sway this month (CD 21 today) but sorta halted the sway 5 days ago...I was having a back spasm and couldn't dtd anymore and I kind of chickened out.... :(
So if it was on schedule, I O'd yesterday. But I honestly can't tell this month. I usually have painful Oing. I have been taking supplements which I stopped since I think it was going to or has delayed O. No more supplements for me.
My last sway "worked", or I just got lucky so I plan to do the same. So basically I'm waiting for AF (due in 6 days) so I can ttc this month.
Can someone please tell me what the heck you're talking about with every 4 days?? Testing with opks? dtd?.....because that goes completely against all the info I've read over the years. And that's exactly how I got 3 boys! My girls were conceived with FR. so confused......
Anyways, just wanted to say Hi! Nice to "meet" you all! FX for a ton of BFPs this cycle!!!!

There's been most success at pink sways with the one attempt at +opk. An alternative method is to bd every 4 days so you get the one attempt in during your fertile window. It's just a different way if achieving the same thing but maybe with less pressure or confusion over whether you've got a positive opk.

Bethwade I was only on it for about a month and yes I do think it contributed to infertility but a bit too far. I had zero cm in fact it was like a dessert! The leaflet does say it shouldn't be taken if ttc or pg. I looked online and found it can contribute to people struggling so I stopped it asap x
Diclofenac, neurofen etc are anti inflammatories and they are not safe in pregnancy, that's why you shouldn't have when TTC. Also your body needs to be a bit inflamed to ovulate if that makes sense

Thanks loobylue for the explanation!....although I'm still so confused! I've always read that dtd every 3-4 days made a lot of boy sperm. Girl sperm were present with a 7 day abstinence OR frequent release.
kitkat18- I did frequent realease (dtd 2-3x a day) with a one day cutoff and lots of Crystal Light for both my girls. We normally dtd every 3-4 days and got all 3 boys that way. That's why I'm so confused! lol!
I think I'm going to stick to what has worked for me in the past. Best of luck to all of you!!! I can't wait to see many BFPs showing up soon!!!
