Omg the picture of them together- how cute! How is having twins? Twice as hard?
Not at all. It's not really much different from having one baby except for outings like grocery shopping. In that case I have a cart and a double stroller I push/pull through the store and people give me dirty looks or make rude comments.
I love having twins. Right now they don't do much of anything besides lie around in different places. I don't think they care for each other though, because I have noticed they fight when I put them together to interact. They'll start kicking and slapping each other.
Lol bunnygirl that's pretty funny- maybe they're just glad to have their own space finally.
The twins sound so cute!
6 days old here. Jules and I had a bumpy start but things are getting better I think. She lost a full pound and I was ungodly sore so I talked to a LC and found out Jules had a pretty major lip and tounge tie. We took her to a ped dentist that works with infants and got the ties cut. I felt so bad but I know it was necessary. We have to wait until Tuesday to see if she has started gaining weight yet, but she is eating pretty heartily. Other than that, she is such a good baby. So content. If I had to come up with a complaint at all it'd be that she is too content lol. She sleeps ALL the time. Only wakes up to eat and even then is half asleep lol. We get about 10-15 minutes a day cumulative of eyes open, alert and looking around. But whatever, I enjoy holding her and loving on her whether she is awake or not. I am enjoying every single second because I know she will grow up way too fast.
Oh, here is a giggle I forgot to share before. As u all know I had too much fluid. I was measuring 45 weeks 3 days before cesarean. During my c/s I heard the OB say (in reference to the size of my uterus) "wow... big!" Nurse asked "twins?" and OB said "nope... just 1..." LMBO.

Lol Two- god you must have lost a ton of weight right afterwards then.
My son was a really sleepy baby too- I actually had to wake him to eat otherwise I was miserable. What do they have to clip for tongue tie exactly? Both of my kiddos lost a full pound too but since my son started out big it wasn't so big a deal, my daughter was smaller and they were on me with her. My milk also takes awhile to come in so there's that too. Glad you both are doing well now!
34 pounds so far. I am currently below my pre-preg weight by about 13 pounds which I think is pretty cool.
As far as the surgery, they used a laser to clip the piece of skin holding the lip and the frenulum. It took like 60 seconds, max. Now we have to stretch the two spots daily, several times a day, to keep them from healing back the way they were. I feel awful doing it because she acts like it hurts her but it has to be done. Had to bump up her follow-up with the dentist. Under her tongue is partially orange.... I know we both are dealing with thrush so I suspect that has something to do with it but don't wanna take any chances. So we will see him tomorrow afternoon and hopefully sort it all out.

Everyone I know who had ties lasered had them grow back together despite doing all the stretching exercises, including me when I was 11. I had to have it redone and got it clipped with scissors and it healed without growing back together and no stretching needed.
The twins are 3 months old tomorrow and we tried out the Bumbo today.

Lol cute pic!
Two, despite all of that it sounds like you two are holding up well. I'm not sure I would feel so positive- good for you!
Congratulations two! Congratulations girlie! Well done both of you!

Bunny--they are SO freakin cute!! I can't believe it's been 3 months already. They look so big!
Two--Being tongue tied runs in our family--about half the kids my brothers, sister, and I have had have needed clipped. You are spot-on to get it done as soon as possible like this. With my oldest, the doc said we should wait to see how it developed. Bad advise. Nursing was SO painful! But he gained weight and ended up speaking fine, so we didn't get it done. By the time he was six, his oral hygiene was terrible because he was so severely tongue tied that his tongue couldn't clean his teeth like normal and his jaw was growing oddly. But by then he was old enough to be freaked out a the idea of surgery. So, we waited until he was nine to have it done. Such an easy procedure and he recovered in a couple of days. But even now at 16, he's still feeling the effects of not having it done early. He's looking at major jaw surgery to correct the way his bones grew. :/ Anyway, a little sad to do on a baby, but so much better in the long run. We had scissor clipping, but I know my niece had the laser when she was a baby, and it worked out fine.
So I went to the midwife today and my Bp was high (for me) - started at 134/74 and I got it down to 122/74. I know they aren't worried until 140/90 but given I'm usually 100/60 I found this odd. Anyone else ever experience this? They also ended up doing a non-stress test because baby's heart rate was a little low and she wasn't as active as they would have liked...never had these issues last time. My midwife said I'm 1.5 cm dilated and doesn't expect me to last much longer which is a relief because now I'm stressed and worried (probably unnecessarily) .
you got more blood volume. And BP is quite good. The under pressure is more important then the higher one (don't know the medical terms in english.) you'll be fine!

Congrats girldreamz and two on the birth of your babies!!!
Bunny girl- the twins are adorable!!! Getting big.
My baby is 1 month old this week. Last weekend I had an emergency appendectomy. I had to sleep in a lawn chair the first couple nights home, wear diapers because I can't make it to the bathroom fast enough for this instant diarrhea, so much pain and pressure when I poop or have gas. It's horrific!!!! My appendix was super infected so I had to poop the infection out for a couple days ( borrowed a baby's butt cream!!!). Seriously, this has been completely ridiculous!!! I only lost 5 pound from my delivery (gained 30) and now have had this surgery and have hardly eaten in a week and pooped my intestines out and haven't lost anything. Plus the gas they blew my stomach up with has made me so bloated-my stomach was looking really good, you could start seeing some of my an muscles. Also I feel like my pelvic floor was doing ok after delivery but not now. Ugh!!!!
Sorry, I needed to rant!!!!!
Good luck to everyone who hasn't delivered yet!

Omg dpike that sounds horrendous and right after birth?!
Oh, dpike, that sounds awful! I am so sorry! Ugh. Come rant anytime.
lala-- my bp always gets a little high at the end, too. I wouldn't worry with those numbers though. They still look very safe. Good luck--I hope little one comes soon!
STILL pregnant! I really really thought it would happen by the weekend- have been feeling so off and yet nothing. This wait is killing me.
So sorry, lala!

Wow :( Poor kid. Prayers that everything goes smoothly for his surgery and recovery.
I was told she was pretty severe tie-wise. Her lip was so tight she could not move it and her tongue was double tied or something (?)... something about being tied in front AND back. .. I don't pretend to understand it but after hearing your story and finding out worst case scenario was worse than nursing pain, speech problems, etc. I am glad we dealt with it asap.
If it makes you feel better my bp was over 140/90 & my OB didn't get nervous until I got dangerously close to the 160/110 mark (159/90 something). He said before that point it's more of a discomfort issue (from swelling, etc) but that is the point where they start seeing problems.
Speaking of BP.... does anyone know how long b4 bp returns to normal?? Mine is still high. It bounces up and down and one time it could be 130's/90's and the next time 159/101 (highest one since she was born so far. Gonna talk to OB at appt this week but wondered if maybe one of u might know. My swelling is about 95+% gone but high bp worries me esp since my norm is usually something around 110/60.
Ugh. That sucks. Hope u get back to 100% quickly.
Honestly, I would sooooo trade u for your potty problem. I have the extreme opposite going on. So badly that I take multiple stool softeners, doses of miralax and other things I won't mention on a regular basis (pills and miralax daily).... not much help though :( I can't even take the iron I am supposed to be taking (anemic) because I can't risk making it worse. Been to the ER twice this week over it.
Well, some of my update is in other posts so I won't go over again.
My hope to stay below pre-preg weight during preg got blown away since I regained the 20'ish pounds I lost plus an additional 16'ish pounds. BUT the goal behind the first goal (thought it'd be cool to weigh less after I had her than when I got preg) was reached :D I lost everything I gained/regained which preg except 3 pounds. Very cool lol.
Jules on the other hand is finally gaining weight :) She lost a full pound and as of last weigh in was up 7 oz from low.
I love this little girl. She is 13 days old and is such a good baby. Still our little diva, and kinda high maintenance because she is very clingy/comfort craving but such a good little baby. We have family visiting from out of town and they said they couldn't believe how quiet she is. She only cries for food and to be changed. After my boys who had blood curdling screams just to be held or something similar, I feel like we won the lottery. She has this little wimper that is her go-to. It takes a lot to get her to actually cry. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...dba52b9482.jpg
She is really cute two!
I'm still plodding along. 39 weeks today. Ho hum. Trying to enjoy the end of my last pregnancy. :)

So cute two!

Awww she is so sweet !
Congratulations
Love that little face, Two! You deserve all the happiness she has to bring![emoji177]
That face! Ohmigod, she's so cute, two!
Just hit my pre-pregnancy weight, too! Not getting too excited yet, though, as I've got weight still hanging on from the two failed pregnancies and breaking my foot (twice!)... so really about 30 lbs to go before I'm at a comfortable weight for my size. But glad it's coming off at least! I was worried about that at my age. All Charlotte likes to do is eat all day long, so I think that's helping. ha!
Good luck, bella and lala! I keep checking in to see if your babies are here yet. :)
I've got nada. Lol
Glad you two are not so uncomfortable. I really wanted to enjoy every moment of my preg but I was so miserable that I really couldn't. I am savoring every second on this side of things though :) She is spoiled already. We hold her 90% of the day. I miss having my bed space at night but I LOVE being able to have my arm around her waist and waking up to her face :) We are still having pain issues during nursing but even that is worth it :) I look forward to getting to see your LOs :) Enjoy those precious kicks and rolls while they last :)
I'm really uncomfortable. Baby is all on my left side so my left sacrum and left groin as well as hip now are shot. I would be a terrible overweight person. I'm trying SO SO hard not to be inpatient and to relish it all but it's not easy. At nearly 4 days past due I know it really could be any minute so I'm trying not to stress but I'm extra irritable and home life is suffering and work is crazy and it would all be a bit easier if I had my body back. Lol. Here's to hoping for a quick , fairly painless and healthy labor and delivery!
Thanks two...still no baby:(
Twointow - can you please delete some pm's in here as mine wont go through lol 😂 will try and resend tomorrow morning :) (no messenger)
Sorry for the thread crash ladies :)

Still no baby:-( I'm 1.5 cm and having bouts of contractions but nothing sticks. I wish I wasn't so grumpy but I am. I'm allowed to induce at 41 weeks if I want but I'm going to hold out until I at least pass the 8 days past due I was last time. I figure that's fair- lol. Then I'll trying getting membranes stripped and if all else fails then we'll move onto other options. This is one stubborn comfy girl.
My Mw asked me what we will do if I get to 42 this time. I'm not really sure. If I am baby are still in really good health we will plod on. My grandma had her first at 43 weeks and I had my first at 42+2, but we will probably do some monitoring to make sure everything is all good. I've been getting some nice intense BH's so who knows when this baby might decide to make an appearance.

Hugs to you both! Hopefully babies decide to make their debut soon!
