Part 7: Due December 2017, Jan Feb & Mar 2018

Hi!

Gosh you ladies are smaaaall – your bumps are too cute! I have so much more weight this time around, and with my constant eating I have gotten “thick”, I have fat everywhere – sigh – I am worried about how I will look in some weeks’ time at this rate haha
And to think I am supposed to be “small” ( I was 1.68m and 51kg ish before starting the HE diet – put on 3 kg at least since starting the diet – and god knows how much since the pregnancy haha).
I am so starting exercise - I just need to find something that doesn’t irritate my very irritable uterus – I already get some of these electric sharp stabs in my cervix so my BH are probably going to start soon again (double sigh). Any recommendations for an easy method to trim off excess fat and be fit and fab? :D

4blue2pink – did you freebirth all of your kids? Wow!

Kat – oh the wait is agonising isn’t it?? Bub will be so cute at 20 weeks though - I know I sound like a broken record, but the chubby cheeks that are starting to form then :awe:
Since my scan at the doctor’s on Thursday put me at 9+1, I will do the bloods on Wednesday when I am bang on 10 weeks – could not have done it any sooner – impatient, me? Haha
That way should have results by the 8th (so end of next week) hopefully – eeeeek!

Momma – I think I didn’t get a chance to say hello and welcome! And congrats on your little girl ;)

Ash – loooove your vintage floral theme and that dresser is uber cute! She is going to be one lucky girl ^^

DD – has the pink eye gotten better?? It sucks so hope it clears fast!!

Max – I really think you are sitting in the best possible position – you already have the desired gender times two, a third would be the icing on the cake but a boy would be such a blessing too so am sure you will be over the moon either way! ;)

PBN – thanks for the update from Sky – we miss her but happy all is well!!

Laurelw – yippee for your darling to be confirmed as a girl – understand your concern though – I guess bubs have growth spurts so she may be due for one – as long as everything is normal and she is thriving, albeit small, probably isn’t a problem. Are you petite? Your girl could be like you and as you had boys before, she may have a different morphology too ;)
I guess they just want to monitor to see if she continues growing to rule out IUGR – am sure she hasn’t stalled her growth if all is well otherwise so breathe and trust yourself and your darling girl! ;) :hugs:

Laurel both of my girls were tiny peanuts (and still are!). I would ask your doctor if he is concerned, but I've heard that from a few people so not sure how to interpret.

Kat, at your 12 week they didn't do gender? I was just assuming that would at mine! [emoji51] I'm 35, going to be 36 in September. And the girls don't know yet...I've always had a bad back and have hurt it several times in the last year, so I told them that we were going to visit the doctor for that. My oldest is on to me, but I'm not sure that she puts together that it's a baby. My little one is oblivious. She's such a free spirit and I love that about her!

Laurel - are you going back in 2 weeks to check growth? Sorry for the worries!
LSMS - that is so soon! Let us know asap.
Max - they did confirm gender at my blood work, no worries, I just told them I didn't want to know. And I just turned 36 this month, we have too much in common [emoji175] I'm impressed your oldest hasn't figured it out! I was surprised my oldest did either though really bc I had a couple weeks on the couch not feeling good!
I broke out the Doppler today and heard a great heartbeat - my kiddos love it. My oldest is so excited which makes me excited. My sweet husband even set up the baby bed while I was running an errand this weekend [emoji175] And I'm feeling flutters every once in a while which makes my heart skip a beat. And makes me sad I'm never doing this again [emoji24]
Oh and LSMS - don't stress about weight and exercise!! Aren't you a walker?? That and swimming is the best for you. I'm running, but at a slow pace which kills me. Last pregnancy I had to stop at 20 weeks bc it got uncomfortable so if that happens this time I'll take spin classes (which is high intensity bicycling for y'all Aussie folks). I normally exercise pretty intense so I keep it up as long as I can. I can already tell my abs are getting weaker which upsets me but we are growing humans!!!

Kat – yipee for the flutters!! I admit feeling babe move is the absolute best part of pregnancy – I always feel so “empty” once my babes are born because of that ;) I remember my DD1 loving hearing her sister via the Doppler too – such special moment! :awe: have you decided whether you will want to find out gender or are you sticking to team green till the end then?
You’re a sweetheart – walker?... well I walk when I can but I am by no means fit, not anymore lol we have a pool, so once it warms up enough will most definitely be making the most of it and swim every day! ;) my bloody BH start so early in pregnancy that it hinders me heaps too exercise wise as well – so that sucks but am determined to not put on as much weight (that’s not off to a good start lol) I’m embarrassed to share my bump as feel so fat though lol
I’m impressed – running and spinning classes? Man, they’d kill me even if not preggers haha


Max – do they automatically do the NIPT test as part of your general pregnancy blood work in the US? Here it is an elective thing, which you pay for fully, so most people probably still don’t do it… but you can therefore do it whenever you want so am doing it at bang on 10 weeks on Wednesday haha

Being behind by 2 weeks isnt good at any gestation as far as i know ( sorry for saying that don't mean to scare u) I hope baby catches up and i am glad they r bringing u in in 2 weeks for follow up

Yes, meant to be 19 today, but baby was measuring 17+2. Haven't seen doctor yet as sonographer didn't do a report, just said to come back in a fortnight. I did call OB office though to ask what to do about appointments and they said they will see me after the scan in 2 weeks.

My boys were always measuring 2-3 weeks ahead so this is very new for me. Praying she catches up quick. An early blood test did indicate something that would mean small growth apparently (sonographer and doctor said) so perhaps that's why?

LMSM if your over 35 here in the us they do the test and it's covered by insurance any younger and you have to pay for it. I have bh also and almost posted the other day how early can they start? I'm 20w now and could feel them around 17w

Being small for gestational just means that most of the time and otherwise baby is healthy but still its important for ur doc to keep a very close follow up on baby which it appears they r so try not to worry. And yes some babies are late bloomers.

LMSM have you ever taken red raspberry leaf tea? im still on the fence about it :-/ any kind of supplements/meds make me a bit nervous and there do seem to be professionals out there who say 100% do not touch it!! which bothers me slightly..

i havent freebirthed all my babies (though looking back i wish i had) i have had them all at home though, the first 4 were homebirths with a midwife and then my youngest 2 were both freebirthed with our midwife coming out to us shortly after they were born, so this will be homebirth number 7 and freebirth number 3 for me.

**just to add freebirth is legal here and mine were done with full informed support from my midwife, her supervisor and the legal team that cover their practice, both baby's still received all post-natal midwife and GP checks etc**

is anyone else on here planning a homebirth?

Ash, I had BH from about 14 weeks with DD1, which was freaky because I'd never experienced anything like it before! With DD2 it started at about 11-13 weeks..and both times they just got more stingy as the pregnancy progressed. Last time my colleagues were scared I might give birth whenever I was breathing through them lol I used to time them when bad, and was basically considered latent labour ..I.e. Frequent but not regular enough. Fortunately my cervix stays shut until it's go time! But then it's darn fast lol

4blue2pink, I never have taken RRL whilst pregnant because of the BHs was too worried it might "tickle" my very sensitive uterus. But once I see the middie I will ask the question as anything to make labour go as well as possible ;)
I wish I could homebirth (and considering how fast DD2 shot out, the midwife at hospital advised for it) but hubby is too scientific, and scared of "what ifs" , not being right next to the neonatal unit etc...
Having said that, here a homebirth with a midwife (in Queensland where I am there are no publicly funded homebirth programs alas) can cost upward of $5000 so it's just a thing we can't justify.
I am not sure I am game enough for a planned free birth, but would be very keen to hear how you managed yours since they were planned..I want to be prepared in case things go uber fast again :D

Ash - Love the dresser! So exciting that you're up to the fun stage. So wonderful that your scan gave you more confirmation!

Maxim - You're lucky to have never had thrush...it's no fun! I have a doppler too and started having success from around week 9.

DancingDiva - Sorry to hear about pink eye....hope it clears fast! We call in conjunctivitis and I've had so many children with it lately at school

Lola - Yay for a baby sprinkle....go for it and enjoy being pampered. Never heard of boiled peanuts! Your photo is gorgeous and makes me look like a hephalump!

Laurel - Congrats on a baby girl! I only have experience with big boy babies...if they said all looks good try to focus on that x

LMSM - I love car shpopping....hope you find something you all like. I'm loving the carnival! I've put on heaps too, but at 10 weeks it slowed right down....phew! I was eating non stop too....just can't help it and I think we have to listen to our bodies....if you have hunger pains it means your body needs it.

AFM: My genetic results are in!!!! Rang my Ob, but he has been in surgery all day and hasn't reviewed them. I should get a call tomorrow or if not, I'll call them. My 12 week scan is next Tuesday 5th Sept! Super excited and nervous. I asked them to email me the sex rather than tell me on the phone. I'm totally expecting boy, as I feel like I did with my boys and especially as my miscarriage was a boy too after swaying. Will let you know as soon as I know xo
