Max - my DH doesn't know. When they (DR office) called me with results, I was at work and wanted us to find out together. Also my husband was leaving on a trip that day to climb Mt.Rainer ([emoji51]) so my anxiety was a little high and I just couldn't handle both those things on the same day [emoji23] I am going to be a tad disappointed if this is girl #3 not bc of her being a girl, but because I won't ever have a son. BUT, just a tad. I've honestly never really even longed for a son until lately so it's not a huge deal to me. I've always wanted a girl and now I have 2, maybe 3 [emoji175] My youngest (3) is saying she wants a baby brother AND sister and lately I agree with her, but my husband was sweet enough to go for #3, but #4 he would not. I think your probably thinking the same [emoji5] His concern is his age. And honestly 3 might be hard for us, we won't know until February!

LMSM my belly is way larger than it should be at 20 weeks but this is my last pregnancy, I've lost all the baby weight 4 other times so I know with a little dedication I can again, so I say own that belly! I did on the other hand order a nice jogging stroller so I can start walking again! I sold my other decent one and just kept the small double umbrella for Disney but the wheels have been walked off it [emoji4]. Hoping to only gain 3lbs in the next 10 weeks could be a challenge but so far I'm at 15 gained [emoji53].

Ash - we might call next week and ask!! September is my last slow month before February honestly so I'd like to nest a little. And I think it will be good for our oldest to know since she's really hoping for a girl. So you may get your wish soon!! We just talked about that this weekend. I don't want to know this week because we have plans this weekend and I just want to enjoy the weekend without any boy/girl comments. So far the worst we've heard is the usual 3 weddings comment which doesn't bother me in the least. I'll be so happy if I have 3 girls that get happily married. And I totally believe you can have a fabulous wedding at a reasonable cost.

Maximbella- my girls are currently 9 and 5 but will be 10 and 6 by the time this one arrives. My first 2 were pretty easy as babies so I'm not sure if i'll get lucky again. One can only hope. I also have a doppler that I use at least once a week. I had a miscarriage last year so it eases my mind especially when shes quiet in there for a while. I got mine from ebay for $30 but didn't find the hb until 14 weeks.

Ash- What a beautiful dresser. I cant wait to see the finished result with it in the nursery with all the décor up.

Lola-I asked if anyone was going to throw me a shower since my kids are older and I'm starting from nothing (my youngest was born in 2011) but since I'm having "yet another girl" I probably wont get one. My family all had their hearts set on a boy. But I have heard of a smaller shower called a sprinkle so get excited with them and let them throw one.

What is the raspberry tea leaf for? Is it safe for pregnancy? And I'm super jealous of those who get to water birth, I live in the states and have never gone into labor on my own before. I was induced twice because my body has trouble dilating without lots of intervention (delivered LO #2 at 41 weeks and started from 0 dilated and 0 effaced) she was over 8 lbs. I also made jokes about going into labor in a snow storm and we're over an hour from the hospital but I'm not holding my breath that I'll go on my own. I had a dream last night I had a 9lb boy though.

Kat im surprised to hear the US is behind on this, its usually the other way round with the UK trailing behind!! i do feel very lucky to live somewhere where we have, as standard, so many birth options available. im also incredibly lucky to live in a part of the UK that commissions a midwife service that is a private model of care but funded fully by the NHS, all antenatal appointments done at home, one midwife who looks after you and does the birth (if homebirth) so you get to know her very well and all appointments can be up to an hour long if you need to discuss any concerns etc you can also call/text your named midwife anytime, i really hope they roll it out over the rest of the UK as its a million miles better than the standard NHS maternity package (appointments in a clinic, only 10mins long, different midwife every time etc..)

LMSM its funny to think now that she was the only person at her sisters birth :) it is nice though.

strange that your state refuse to fund something that works out cheaper, also very unfair of them to restrict your choices like that :(
i loved my waterbirths, ive had 2 out-of-water births and 4 in water, id always plan to have a waterbirth thats for sure but as your experience shows sometimes babies have other idea's!! are they still doing waterbirths at your hospital now? i really hope they are i honestly think the water makes a big difference :heart:

Mommaxo3 my first two I had to be induced ds2 didn't even get a chance he had IUGR (so laurelw I guess I lied I did have experience with a small baby) but I don't know if he would have came on his own anyway. With ds3 and 4 they came spontaneously at 35 and 36 weeks so you never know you may go on your own. I'm hoping I go on my own this time and make it to the hospital and I have a fear of having a big baby lol I've never had one above 6lb 13oz!
4b2p sounds wonderful we def. don't have anything like that in the us I've not had experience with a midwife but I do believe you'd have to pay out of pocket to have such a personalized experience here.
Kat YAY! I do have a huge respect for someone to be team green but I'm to much of a planner (hints 4 boys) to not find out I want everything settled and perfect! If I had held onto my baby things maybe I could do it but starting from scratch no way. Because if it were a girl coming out or in your case boy I'd want to be 100% pink or blue no green or yellow [emoji23]

Ash im shocked to hear this about the US i honestly thought you guys would be very very ahead with maternity care, i know alot of US births are hospital and doctor lead rather then midwife but i assumed that was because it was what women were choosing not because it was all they could have, can you have a midwife led delivery in a hospital? or are midwives only used by those who are willing to pay for it? which is sad if thats the case :(

its almost the opposite over here, you only see a consultant during pregnancy if you are high risk or there is a problem, when you turn up to hospital to deliver the delivery ward is staffed by midwives and again you would only see the doctor who is on call that day/night if you have a complication. the vast majority of women will go through pregnancy and delivery never even meeting with a consultant, its all midwives.

4b2p I've never looked into it but I do think you can in certain hospitals that allow it. And my insurance will cover a midwife but I don't think it'd be anything at home you'd have to go to their office. But yes the majority of women are seen and delivered in hospitals by obgyn doctors.
