OH YES! Great news! We were all praying for you dear. :cheer: Still praying...:HH:
It just seems like it is one thing after another with this pregnancy. I am terrified I will end up with a baby with health problems at this point. Between the 103 fever at the beginning of this month, right after I got my BFP, to the spotting and now I find out I have GBS, a yeast infection and BV!! Sorry TMI but HOW IN THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN ALL AT THE SAME TIME?? The doc says the latter two are b/c the pH was off but I just don't get it! So now I am on 2 different medications but can't be treated for the BV until I am past 12 weeks. I didn't even have any symptoms!
Oh no I'm so sorry!!! Yes the doctor is right, what happens is those little critters are all around us all the time, and then pH changes due to pregnancy can give them an opportunity to overgrow and put our body's "good" microorganisms at a disadvantage. What I would do is eat some garlic while doing the treatment, (don't go overboard) and when you are done treating the yeast, stop the garlic, take some good probiotics (don't just eat yogurt and kefir, most of the good stuff will get killed off by your stomach acid) and then get some plain yogurt with active cultures like Mountain High and use it as a cream on the OUTSIDE of your VJ only (while it is safe internally when you are not pg, when you are pg it is best to use it externally only) and this will repopulate the VJ area with the healthy microorganisms that are meant to be there.
