I got a peak this morning and we are going to DTD this afternoon instead of tonight..

Oh, I don't mind talking about it. I didn't want to bore anybody with my story.:p
For those who don't know how the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor works: you test once a day by peeing on a little wand and inserting it into the monitor. It gives you a low, high or peak fertility reading by testing LH and estrogen. So on your peak day, you are predicted to ovulate within 12 to 48 hours.
I usually test around 9:00a.m. This cycle DoulaMama sent me some opks, so I was using those too. I tested Tuesday morning with the CBEFM and it gave me a high reading (basically saying my body did NOT have the surge yet). I used the opks throughout the day and they detected a surge around 4:00p.m. I continued to test through the evening with the opks and I kept getting positives.
Wednesday morning I tested with my CBEFM and it gave me my peak reading (it detected the surge). Now with the monitor when you get your peak it automatically reads you as a peak for two days, in my case that would be Wednesday and Thursday. I took opks Wednesday morning and the surge stopped around 10:00a.m.
So if I had just been using the monitor I would have thought I O'd on maybe Wednesday but probably Thursday. In truth, I probably O'd Wednesday morning or Tuesday night. So if that's been happening the past few cycles, I've been missing my O by as much as 2 days. Weird, huh?
Ohhh I am confused :(
So I got my peak today and we DTD this afternoon. Hope I caught the egg :S
Now I'm worried, have I risked an O+12????
I'm not sure how those ones work.
Does Peak mean you are going to O or you are Oing ?
TTC5--I'm sorry I confused you! It was confusing going through it!
Love being a mummy--According to the pamphlet, when you get your peak on the monitor you should O within 12-48 hours. But it may be much sooner. That's what happened to me; I actually O'd the day before my peak reading.
I was under the impression it meant you are about to O... usually we would DTD of the evening on the peak but we did it this afternoon instead. FX for us.
