This is old but I thought I would comment. This bub I'm currently pregnant with came from my left ovary (confirmed twice by u/s). I had pains on my right side for days so I just assumed (before I knew), that I ovulated from my right ovary. Nope- this bub is a lefty! Also just to add, my DS1 came from my left ovary- he's ALL boy! So far for me it's: Left Ovary: Ds1, Right Ovary: Ds2, Left Ovary: Unknown

I'm so worried about this theory!
Last cycle I had a scan just checking if I'm clear of any cysts and the mature egg was on the right ovary!
This cycle I feel pain on my left, hopefully I will O from my right !!

O pain does not tell you anything about what side you will ovulate from. You make eggs in both ovaries every month, it's just that the biggest one is released. Some people find they actually have worse O pain on the side that does not release the egg, because the ovary gets very big and swollen and the pressure is not released on that side
