Thanks PrayforPrincess.... I soooo hope you are right...
POP, really? how come? I'll give you all my blue dust if you want! pass over some pink, please!
thanks, ladies.. I was pretty bummed but I hope April is our month!! April is such a lovely month, maybe it will bring lots of good luck too :)
I like the sound of that nks..... good luck!!
I am very biased to April! It's my birthday on the 8th (also Easter this year) I'll be 34.
DS2 turns 1 on April 29th. When i was pregnant with him, before I knew he was a boy, I was dreaming about how I'd be so lucky to share a birth month with a daughter--that both our birthstones would be same, and she'd love being born in the Spring like I always did. Now my dream is that sharing a birth month will be special for me and my chunky monkey :)
Of course my mind wandered to September, and i think sapphire is a gorgeous, and a great birth stone. It's only made my desire for a daughter a little stronger, because when I was a pre-teen I got ears pierced with the faux sapphire instead of the faux diamond because I loved the color better, lol. But anyway....
I hope everyone gets very, very blessed in April with a BFP or at least getting knocked up! Nothing like the Spring!
auroara, April 12th, my DH and I will have been married for 4 years :) it's just a beautiful month and everything here is turning green.. the flowers are blooming and the weather is so nice. would be a lovely belated anniversary present if I got a BFP! here's to hoping and praying :D
I really like reading that because that's the part about my upcoming cycle I'm still questioning. We did one attempt for cycle one (BFN) and four attempts right around +opk for cycle two (BFN); for cycle three, we're planning to switch to FR instead of abstain. But I'm wondering how many BD sessions I ought to plan on. It confuses me: We do things to lower sperm (tighty-whites, FR or abstain, etc.) ... but aren't we overriding all that if we put lots of sperm on the scene through frequent BD?
How many attempts are those of you who are TTC planning for this month? Or for those of you who are expecting, how many attempts did you use during your successful month?
I'll still be using RepHresh, so I'm not as concerned about the pH of frequent BD ... but the sperm count issue does niggle at me. Ack -- what to do?
auroara.. I was thinking the same about BD'ing.. and kind of wanted to try that this month instead of abstain.
It's just from real life experience that I've heard too many stories from RL friends about non stop baby dancing and then having girls. Some of the women went from after AF to O with 1-2 attempts + a day! (a little nuts!) but they all ended up with girls, I'm not saying that's the only reason why but I think it has to do with the idea that the sperm cannot "recover" as fast as the demand is, and even though you are still BD'ing a lot, the sperm cannot compete and therefore it is not as much sperm as you'd think completely making it up there.
I am skeptical about one time only being good for girl, because in theory, how we concieved our two boys was very "girl" friendly way of doing them: they were pull out opps that my husband swears he didn't ejecuate fully. So if he is right, then that means that whever sperm did make it in there wasn't in high quantity number, which *should* have made us girls, right?
Yet my diet was so boy-friendly and I had alot of CM back in those days, so I definitely think in our case frequency of sex and low amount of sperm DID NOT help at all because of our lifestyle--I was lifting weights and working out moderately with DS1, and taking fish oil supps, eating plenty of meat and veggies, chocolate, etc.
So it is hard for me to say if I really buy into the frequent BD = boys, because I don't. I strongly believe extremes play a role here, as in lots and lots of BD'ing helps concieve girls or still very few. I think moderate BD'ing (every other day or every two days) DEFINITELY sways boy, but again, diet and maternal health play a huge role in this equation. I also know couples who "followed" doctor's orders about BD'ing every other day to max. sperm count, and have a perfect pigeon pair.
