Hi Indigo!
Yay swish, I'm so glad you're in the 2ww! It's entirely up to you whether you do it again - do you remember I had the same question after our attempt?! DH wanted to do it again but I felt that we should leave it so that's what we did. I didn't want to 'send in the boys' and increase the number of sperm in there and sway boy BUT your circumstances are different and, based on your last cycle, your fertility is likely in a different place. If you want to seal the deal and increase your chances of getting pregnant then go for it!
I get the feeling we won't have many people left to tell that we're pregnant by the time we get to 12 weeks - this morning I blurted to a mum of one of DS1's school friends! We're quite friendly and I know she won't say anything to anyone but she asked me whether we were going to try for number 4 and I couldn't resist!
-
I've been known to blurt my pregnancy secret out to strangers too!
-
Not quite in the 2ww yet! Real dilemma about dtd as i don't know when I'll actually ov as haven't used cbfm before, guess I'll see what temps do tomorrow. Z, i do that too, things just pop out and then you wonder why you said it! I'm weaning myself off telling people I have no preference for gender, I've told a couple of strangers who've asked that i'd love a girl, it's a start!!
-
I have a couple of baby sites I've belonged to for years (since DS1) and I just popped back on (I'm not a regular any more) to say hello and maybe break my news but there was a thread on there where somebody had asked how to ttc a girl and it went on and on about Shettles and that pissed me off so much I couldn't even post because I'd want to set that thread straight and it would give me away ... and I don't want to give myself away because then I'll feel like a fool when I have a boy!
swish - if you're unsure about DTD again tonight, could you get DH to release first (now!) and DTD later? That might be a good compromise.
-
One more question for everyone...
Does low blood sugar in 2ww make a difference for gender of baby following release of egg or was it the 2ww the cycle before that makes the difference, I still don't get it!! Hope that makes sense!
-
It's the 2ww after conception - girl sperm suck up more glucose and if there's lots there they might suck up too much. Boy sperm don't suck up so much so likely prefer to have more in the environment. It's about creating the ideal environment for the sex you've hopefully conceived!
-
Thanks z! you are a fountain of knowledge these days!! X
-
I'm quite lost without having my girl sway to plan. I need to take up knitting or something - I've started looking at pushchairs and carseats online but it seems rather early to be planning those details! I was going to do some gardening today but the weather put a stop to that.
-
I know, I wondered what I would do post 6 pm when the boys watch cbeebies, I'm so used to tapping away on my iPad on this site! You however are definitely still needed and useful here, I'm not as well researched ad you, I just do what I'm told!!! Just saw other post, I was wondering whether to dtd again tomorrow as that might be ov day? I wanted to dtd through ov day but wasn't sure whether 2 days in row ( and nothing else as far as my body knows!) would sway blue?
I've never been on any of these sites before this sway, I've surprised myself how much I like it and how you all friends now and I feel like I know you, I have to confess I didn't get it at all before this, I might have looked but I'd never post/share anything about myself.
-
Knitting is a hilarious choice, you could make a million baby clothes. I bet it's really relaxing but I would be useless!
-
DH and I dtd for real 6 days in row. I didn't know that swayed boy! I get so confused with all this information.
I freely tell anyone who'll listen that I'm planning to try one more time for a girl. They can judge me if they want - anyone who knows me knows my 3 boys are my world and I'll love a 4th boy just as much.
-
I know that's how I should feel, mocha, and I always think good for you when people are like that but I do worry what people think of me, it's ingrained in me and I can't really change it!
As for dtd, I didn't mean lots of days in a row as that's frequent bding but I wasn'ypt sure if just 2 days in a row 'for real' counts as frequent bding to my body. Am I not making sense?!?!
-
No - that makes sense. I just noticed that very few of you dtd lots of times, and started to worry we shouldn't have been doing that after all. I suppose it doesn't matter because even with all that BD (I think one month we dtd 7 days in a row after he'd released for 7 more before that!), we still haven't gotten pregnant. I don't think at this point I'd want to leave it all down to one attempt anyway. I think I'm just feeling so unconfident about my sway that I'm looking for excuses to pick it apart.
-
I actually planned to dtd several days again but ov surprised me by being the earliest it's been since I charted, now I just don't know what to do, I don't feel at all stressed just confused! Funny enough I don't even feel desperate to get pregnant this cycle! I suppose I feel I barely swayed compared to my other attempts and my body seems to have returned to normal ( and we know normal means boys!) um, who knows!!
-
swish - it doesn't matter whether you DTD every day or DH releases every day or a combination of the 2! DTD every day, preferably 7-10 days prior to you DTD at your fertile time, will still sway pink because it lowers DH's sperm count. DTD 'for real' more than once increases your chances of pregnancy because it increases 'your' sperm count BUT some people swaying pink may need to do it that much because of the negative effect that the others things they're dong (diet/antihistimines/gels etc.) have on fertility. It's a fine balance and it's different for everybody! If I were you and I'd had a few attempts and a cycle where I didn't ovulate at all, I think I'd go for it again :D
-
Thank you, I appreciate that :)
At this point it's hard to say whether not getting pregnant was anything to do with dh, I think probably not, I think it was my messed up cycles and my body reacting to supplements and diet but we don't know!! I'm going to dtd tomorrow morning if temp has not risen - I'm not going to think about it again!!!! X
-
-
Sounds like a good decision, swish!
-
-
Thanks for the welcome ladies :)
Mocha- I ended up having 2 m/c and so gave up all swaying and did everything fertility friendly which is obviously boy friendly. I was just desperate to get pg in the end and am thrilled with ds2 but still wish wish wish for a girl. This is my last chance so am starting with as much as I can and drop stuff if it takes too long to get pg. What are you doing this time?
-
I started out pretty hardcore - I've been on the Low Everything diet since May 1st and have lost over 20 lbs. I'm now down to a size 00, which kind of freaks me out. I was using Rephresh, Sylk, frequent BD, Saw Palmetto, Vitex and Baby Aspirin, but after 3 unsuccessful attempts I've now dropped the Rephresh, Sylk, reduced the Baby ASpirin (I was bruising too much on it), and we didn't quite manage frequent BD this month, though I made dh release twice on one day then again the next morning before we dtd that night, then we dtd 6 days in a row after that. I'm now 5dpo.
-
Wow Mocha, that's a really impressive amount to loose! Since the diet is the most important, dropping a few bits still gives you an amazing sway. Good luck! what dpo will you start testing?
I o'd yesterday and did an o+12 ish so am praying for a quick BFP, don't want to wait as long as I did last time and cope with the heartbreak.
:HH:
-
I'm going to try to hold out until 9dpo, but I usually give in at 8dpo.
-
Well I think if I get a bfn this Monday I am just gonna except the fact I am not pregnant lol and I am going to back off for a month or 2, I am going to kind of keep the le diet, I have lost about 6lbs and I need about 35lbs to go to completely lose this baby fat I have been hanging on to for too long lol and I need to excercise to help lose that faster and that will mess up my sway, and dh thinks I am ridiculous and basically laughing at me for having so much confidence on being pregnant this month lol so after af arrives I will be going mia and just taking a couple month break and be back :) I probably pop in and evry once and while to see how y'all ladies are doing, but I won't leave until af shows which should be here Tuesday :)
-
Good luck with testing tomorrow XXdreaming:luck:
Mocha- sounds like me, try to hold off for as long as I can but will probably only make it to 8dpo as well....FXFX
-
Sorry about bfn, xx!
Can anyone help me with this...
I didn't ov last month but thus cycle was soooo happy to get a peak day on my cbfm - however, after the second day of peak I expected my temps to be up this morning but it was not. My cm has changed to sticky today. Do you think my body tried and failed to ov or is it possible I ov early today, the day after the second peak cbfm reading? Am I just being hopeful?? I know temps tomorrow will tell me more but i'd appreciate it f anyone can help! X
-
I'm sorry you're getting confusing signs again, swish! I really don't know enough about ovulation to answer your question, but to me it seems possible that you ovulated very early this morning and your temps will go up tomorrow. I really hope thing become clearer for you soon! :HH:
-
Thank you, mocha, I hope your right, I feel I am now past being disappointed about all this!! I'm starting to think I may have pcos, I don't know enough about it yet but I'm being tested for it mid oct. I'm trying to find out if it could have been underlying and now aggravated by diet.
-
Swish, I think you did ovulate. It might just take a little more time for your temp to rise.
I have a hard time pinpointing O every month for this because my temp never goes up that clearly but it takes a couple of days (ofcourse my cycle is hardly an example of a normal, fertile cycle lol) so the thought of not having O-ed is always on my mind until there is a clear rise days later.
-
Thank you, indira, that is really useful, our cycles definitely seem to have similarities!!! I hope you're right about this one, x
-
Hi ladies!
My temperature went up a tiny bit so hopefully I'm having a gradual rise and have therefore ovulated!!! How is everyone else? Who is waiting to test?
-
Yay for the temp rise Swish. I'm waiting to test but won't til next week, seems like forever away. I forgot how time drags when you are ttc. I keep thinking about it 'am I still only on 3dpo?!!'
-
Yay, swish! I'm glad your temp was up!
I'm 8dpo today, and I admit I tested . BFN - no big surprise.
-
Mocha, sorry for BFn, I'm sure I will cave as early this month too, but still really early days, lots of hope hun :HH:
-
Thanks, I am feeling hopeful that I at least ovulated, it's a start...
Sorry for the BFNs but it's still early, x
-
That's great news swish :D
-
Big temp jump today, yay!!
Mocha, are you ok, you're very quiet? X
-
Just want to say "eek" - will say more when I get on the laptop..

right... can add a bit more now. I had a high temp this morning. The odd high temp is fairly common when BF (or seems to be) as I get hot flushes overnight now and again, but this one was taken spot on at the right time, after the 3hr block of sleep, and no hot flush... it should be very accurate, and it's higher than my normal hot-flush temps are too: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/296ced
I did have a darker 2nd line on my IC OPK yesterday, although it was still negative, but the last 2 cycles I've had a slow buildup lasting about 2-3 days before a positive OPK so wasn't expecting a temp rise just yet and this one wasn't as dark as the peak of those have been.
we're not TTC this month and BDed on CD11 following a day with only creamy CM thinking that was safe as I didn't OV until CD28/31 for the last 2 cycles. I guess it's unlikely we'll conceive from that? especially as my LP was only 6 days last cycle?
-
Morning ladies, how are you all doing today :HH:
Mocha- have you tested again? FXFX
