Burakoam, how did you know you were not ovulating? Was there anything doc did to prove ovulation was or was not happening? My doc just said she thinks I am ovulating but no real reason so that is why she said I don't need clomid.Quote:

Thanks purple, I had thought that about beautiful lrainbow and contacted her on the Facebook page. She was good enough to share her experience, she ran into the same problems as me with gp, she had to pay privately to get help with it. I will look into it but not sure I could afford it. Lissa- any chance you are off on your ovulation by a day or two? Maybe you aren't 12 DPO? More like 10-11?
No girliecat... They did my pre testing and said it was normal. The only reason they thought I wasn't ovulating is because I went to him and gave my symptoms. During the initial consult he noticed my cystic acne and commented on it. I also have very thin hair and balding in some spots. He said even with a normal hormone panel he wanted to say I had some mild form of PCOS. He said we would give me a year and see what happens. Well my cycles were perfect and like clockwork but AWFUl... I was crazy emotional and easily depressed. My boobs would hurt something fiery all through each cycle not just in the 2ww... When I went back to him all broken out with my hair falling out and bawling cause I couldn't take it anymore he put me on progesterone for a week to 'normalize' me then had me start clomid after the progesterone period was done (actually had two periods in December.. My normal one and the progesterone withdrawal bleed) and I had absolutely no symptoms of being on clomid it made me feel fantastic... And I was convinced I wouldn't be so lucky as to get pregnant the first clomid cycle as it was supposedly not that common but I did get pregnant and I attribute it all to my excellent RE and clomid... I wish you all lived in Iowa so I could introduce you to him lol
Cat- what cycle are you on TTC? What are your cycles like for you? Any physical signs you may not be ovulating other than the intense cramping?
Burakoam - - Have you had your ferritin levels (iron stores) checked? A level under 50 often leads to hair loss. After years of heavy periods and then my miscarriage, my ferritin was at 8. Ideal is 70-90 in women! Low ferritin can also cause poor egg quality and other symptoms similar to low thyroid - - feeling cold all the time, depression, fatigue, breathlessness, etc. Ferritin is not something they normally check, you have to ask for it specifically. After 18 months on high dose prescription iron 3 times a day, my level finally reached the normal level (72). If you have heavy periods or don't eat a lot of red meat, your levels are most likely low.Quote:

So I rang my gp, to get results from my blood draw taken at cd 21, the receptionist said two were normal, she did not say what they were maybe oestrogen? Progesterone was borderline, so she said the note said probably ovulating but need to get it checked next month to confirm, discuss with gp. Have appt with gp tomorrow morning, I will get the actual numbers tomorrow, so looks like he is going to wait an additional month before doing anything. Anyone have any idea what progesterone should be at cd21? What to go in full armed tomorrow. I am not getting pregnant and now borderline progesterone is that not enough to warrant some sort of action? X
Girlieplease, 6-7 DPO Progesterone should be over 10 with an unmedicated cycle and if medicated is should be over 15. Estrogen should be about 200 per ovulated egg at that point.
Thanks tfahn, I have no medication so will go with those figures. This is so frustrating x
Girlieplease did you have the blood taken 6-7 days past ovulation? I can't remember.
Yes it can be very frustrating, Its tough waiting for results when you just want a solution and a plan to focus on. Hopefully you are ovulating on your own.
It was cycle day 21, but I think I ovulated only 5 days before, I could not change the day as I was going away for a few days and did not return until Tuesday, so the earliest I could have got it done was this Wednesday, my period had already come and gone by then! My lp was only 7 days this month!
5 DPO is still fine, I have had it taken at that point in the past too.
Girlie remember that's what I said was going on with my progesterone! i don't know why you have to wait.. Just call the nurse back and tell her that you have other symptoms going on and you want to get pregnant as soon as possible so you would like to try clomid BECAUSE even if you are ovulating at this point it's a weak ovulation with those borderline numbers and you don't want to wait another month just to find out again you are ovulating weakly or not at all when you could be completing your first clomid cycle and possibly pregnant next month!
Just put your foot down with them and say this is what you want to do. They already have the lab work right in front of them saying you aren't ovulating like you could be.. They are gonna drag their feet until you tell them what you want I think

Ladies, can I ask if you are believers that moon phases sways? Do you skip a month if your O-time dosen't align with new moon (girl) or full moon (boy)? How much do you think it matters? Is it silly to worry about this?

atomic wrote a essay on lunaception - look for it in the index. No hard evidence at all. I personally wouldnt skip a month due to the moon phase - otherwise you would skip months forever! What a waste of precious fertility.

I was wrong. First two were conceived in girl sign and girl moon and last was conceived in girl sign. Boy moon..
This one was girl sign girl moon... Hoping it was a fluke chance it was right with the others... F***...

So the appointment with gp went like this. He said my progesterone was 27, he said anything 30 and above indicates ovulation, below 10 indicates no ovulation. So he said that it indicated that I ovulated. When I told him that my period started two days later, he said that made sense so we did not measure at peak progesterone and it was already coming down. He said he would be concerned about the short lp of 7 days but thinks, and I cannot really argue with this point, that maybe I o'ed earlier. Is it possible to ovulate and it not register with a change in temp, or not be picked up by the clear blue fertility monitor and the clear digital sticks and then a few days later get a temp spike, an egg symbol on the cb monitor and a static smilie on the digital sticks?
Anyway, because am 36 and have had no problems conceiving before and due to this borderline result, he is referring me to infertility Dr, he said it could take 2 months or 4 depending on waiting list. He said they will probably not do anything until I have been unsuccessful for longer but by the time am seen I could be nearly at a year and they might prescribe clomid! He said to keep trying to conceive until the appt. He hopes I get pregnant before the appt happens, he has seen this loads! Any thoughts? X
