Finally got round to getting stuff sorted to make my secret Santa. Had already bought something but decided I did have time to make something,.... Plus I love to get the sewing machine out when I need to get my mind off things!
Spent some time with one of my best mates today who is exoecting her first dd after three ds's. It's so lovely for her but I have to admit, I do find it hard. Silly really.
Am thinking of you Charlie and zanacal.... Won't be long til your scans! They are so nerve racking aren't they?!
Charlie, love the sound of your holiday, thats just the sort of thing I love. And lavender, I have heard great things about that company in Devon. Perhaps that's what we will book next summer.
Maybe, glad dh agreed to relate if things don't improve. At least he is listening now.
Sunset, Brave boys today...deserved their lollies! My two watched my bloods be taken the other week and after their own jabs a few months ago looked horrified that the nurse was about to attack mummy.... Ds2 started crying.

Deaks, ur so lucky u can use a sewing machine!! My dad can and always meant to ask hime to show me, or my MIL she's a seamstress. I understand about ur friend, regardless if a friend gets her pp, or even a boy after 2 girls, I'm envious, just me and human nature I suppose. To want what we don't have. It's tough tho....really tough.
Inglewood - I couldn't trust dh to make a outfit. He said today he wore a bin bag and y fronts to his school play? Wt*? What the he'll was he supposed to be???!!! That's just plain neglect lol! I hope it was a un used bin bag, never did like mil rofl!

Morning ladies! I'm experiencing a very nasty pregnancy symptom i've never had before. I wake up in the mornings with numb fingers.. how terrible is that! :( It says in all my pregnancy books that it's normal, but it certainly doesn't feel that way. Ds1 has been poorly all night with a fever, obviously from his injections yesterday. He was fever free this morning and asking to go to nursery so hopefully i shouldn't get a phone call.
Hope you're all well! Dh's sister is coming over tonight to babysit so we can go and do our christmas shopping for the boys :) can't wait to know it's all done! :)
Sunset, I get it too, Carpal Tunnel syndrome.... it's weird because ur fingers are numb, but it aches!! I have hand splints from the physio to wear in bed at night which helps tons and cold water. It's the swelling over ur carpal nerve in ur wrist. I have it for almost a year after birth to....just horrible.Quote:

Well Im still waiting to ovulate! Had a week of fertile ish signs and then its all stopped, now cervix has gone back to hard and closed, cd17 - I ovulated on cd17 last month, but usually as late as cd 19/20. Ideally I wanted to ovulate Thursday at the latest to beat the full moon that is coming saturday or sunday but never mind. Off to Butlins so will do lots of walks by the beach, no computer and take my rock salt lamp to have on at night.
Does anyone know if its a full moon with positive ions, does that now mean to avoid being outside or will it still be beneficial for fresh air,will there be any negative ions still?

Ohh Charliespy I'm soooooo happy for you! what a relief! :) not long now until your scan either! have you had anymore spotting? funny that, it's the same for me if I sleep on my arm. This morning when i woke up I couldn't feel my left hand at all.. it was like touching someone elses hand :/ but as soon as i got up and started my day the feeling returned. it's only when i wake up that my fingers are numb. i've never had carpal tunnel syndrome before! didn't even know that's what it's called. I'm seeing my midwife next week so i'm gonna ask her about it then, but according to the NHS website it's common in pregnancy because of fluid retention which sounds about right since i'm storing the entire pacific ocean in my hands and feet alone at the moment :rofl:
Inglewood ~ i don't get any pains with it luckily, but it's a bit scary when i wake up and my fingers are numb. Luckily it goes away quite quickly when i start moving my hands about. Glad you got the beanbag sorted, what a nightmare!

I hope you ov soon!! i don't know about the full moon thing to be honest but i would assume even though it's full moon and all it's still better to be outdoors than indoors. it just means there will be more +ions in the air, but you can definitely not escape +ions in the house either and at least outdoors you have the benefit of fresh air/wind.

Thanks all for your good lucks - it is what it is now so I'll just have to deal with it either way but I'm definitely looking forward to getting this scan out of the way! My tummy is full of butterflies because I have no idea which way it will go - one minute I'm quite hopeful for a girl and the next I'm certain it couldn't possibly be and I'm constantly playing out both scenarios in my mind. I'm well and truly loopy :D Sunset - I keep thinking what it'll be like if the baby doesn't co-operate and I have to go back like you did. It must have been torture!!

I havent been sick now for a few days :) Still feel sick all the time but hoping I will be able to eat a few more things now other than shortbread and cheese sandwiches!!
It's at 11am Inglewood - don't worry if I don't get on here until around 2pm though. It's quite a long way home and DH and I will eat some lunch somewhere first. I'm considering going to Mothercare or Mamas and Papas and buying an outfit either way but I've never bought anything for a baby this early and it feels like jinxing things. Will see how the mood takes me!

Sunset thankyou I rang twice but was put on hold for so long I gave up. I'm really hoping that i've read it wrong. It say's £383.01 to pay. But not sure if I need to pay or they owe me? I really hope it's a rebate. From what I cobbled from the recorded message if it's a rebate I should get a payment through the post in around 4 weeks time. If I owe them I should get a new tax code. But I don't pay tax at the moment as I don't earn enough only working part time. It made my stomach sink when I first read it and thought I'd need to pay up straight away and my overdraft has already taken a bashing this month with Christmas and my car tax needing renewing but that's not the case so that's got rid of that intial worry!
Does anyone have their tree up yet? I think we're going to wait until saturday otherwise all the needles tend to dry out by Christmas day from the fire and central heating. So excited I love the smell of Christmas trees.
I got some yankee candle tea lights yesterday in 'kitchen spice' and the house smells so festive! Cherries on snow also smelt yummy so might get that when these run out.:)

sunset sorry to hear you have numb fingers I had the same thing with ds2 like you it was only in the mornings and thankfully wore of with movement. Us ladies have to go through so much to get our bambino's. I'm so glad that men weren't designed to carry babies or the world would be a mess!! :D

lavender, i do hope you read that letter wrong, and it is them paying you! Otherwise awful timing before christmas. We havent got our tree up yet for the same reason. Charlie~ So happy you heard the heartbeat..thats fantastic..what a relief! My attempt was as good as it could be. O completely changed this month- my first month ttc, of course. My plan was to DTD at first OPK because I usually O 2 days later. This cycle I got a + OPK in the am, had DH release in the am, did rephresh, and then DTD that night. Turns out FF and Ovacue said I O'd that same day. I would have freaked several months ago, but the more I read the more I don't think timing has anything to do with it. The most recent study actually found more girls conceived an O day! Dh did frequent from AF to O and the day before O and the day of he released twice. I did a little replens sometime after too.
I have been taking HPT's and getting negatives, but I am beyond tired, and my temps are way up... Will see FF says AF is due tomorrow- will do a FRER with FMU tomorrow.
Lavender~ Did you attempt yet? I think you were right behind me...then I O'd 4-5 days earler then normal! I put up a tree, but we have a fake one. Most people think it looks real, I love looking at it at night. Just took the kids to seee Santa and they each picked out ornaments..each year I get them personalized with their names and have the date on there too. Got their Christmas pic and felt really down seeing all the adorable baby girls at the photo place. I think these holidays are really a downer this year because I was due on January with a DD :( . All I can hope (and all I want) is a baby girl to join my beautiful boys in next years photo card!

Babymad, glad ur sickness is easing, shame u had CTS too, it was so so sore for me, once it starts for me it gets worse and worse till I have it 24/7. Can feel it niggling in tune with the start of SPD....lovely!! You can tell I'm not sick anymore, managed to put on 8lbs now, eek, better watch. Think it's been mths of girl diet, then sickness, I've got food crazy! so better start being good.

Your all so good having real trees, I couldn't be fussed with the mess! terrible I know!! Dh would love one and I've promised next yr, hopefully in a new house he can go get one. So our lovely B&Q artificial one will go up on sat!! It's actually a good one, was super expensive and I like it, looks like the real thing, but Dh grew up with real trees and hates it!!! We never had a real tree, my folks still use the same tree from when I was a kid!! lol

wow so many of you ladies have real christmas trees? :) we've had our christmas tree up now since the 3rd of december when ds1 really wanted to put it up, but i have to admit we don't have a real christmas tree this year. I will definitely get a real christmas tree when the boys get a bit older, but this year i'm a bit too lazy :p

deaks is it because of the antibitiocs you can't attempt this cycle? i think it says it takes 6 weeks for it to leave your system :( i'm sorry you're feeling so down about it, but i definitely understand! i wish there was anything at all that i could do to help.. you will get your baby though! it might not seem like it at the moment, but it's only a matter of time i'm sure until you get your bfp!!
I think tamara says it takes 4 weeks according to an old post. Am considering not taking them as i wasnt even sure whether to go to the doctors today. Basically i got Folliculitis from shaving my legs before taking ds1 swimming last week. It spread over my body within a day or so but actually hasnt got worse the last day or so. I only went to docs as i wandered if it was my old psoriosis rearing its ugly head. Might see how the rash is over a couple of days as it wont make any difference to this ov...whenever i take them beforehand it likely i will have to miss this cycle. Will stick with the piriton and diprobase cream til the weekend and then decide. am i stupid?Quote:
