Pink swayers' December thread

I'm sorry Hope, I had high hopes for you this month. I'm still hopeful it ain't over for you this month yet!

lemon - how many times to DTD is a tricky one because it really is a fine balance between lowering sperm count enough and getting pregnant. For me and DH, I felt it was super important to only have one attempt - because we've always got pregnant first attempt (3rd with DS2 but I was BFing) with boys and with him frequent releasing. He also has super high pH. We were extremely lucky to get pregnant with just one attempt with lowered sperm count from the extreme frequent releasing and a Jump and Dump and I'm not sure what our plan would have been if we hadn't got pregnant. I suspect I would have dropped the Jump and Dump and then reduced the amount of releasing before adding in more attempts but we're all different - we all have different levels of fertility, some of us are more concerned about getting pregnant quickly etc. so you have to do what feels right for you.

My temp was way down today almost to my coverline and I'm still bleeding, so I think I'm officially out for the month. I'm hoping I can consider yesterday CD1 since I had a light flow almost all day, but I'm thinking since my temp didn't go down until today this should be CD1. What do you all think?

We leave for Nova Scotia on the 22nd and I normally ovulate between CD13 and 16. If today's CD1 then I should O between the 22nd and the 25th - If I O on the 22nd or earlier I'll be done our attempts before we leave, but if it comes later I don't know what I'll do. I suppose at least I should be happy that I'll only have a few bad days on the diet around O now instead of a whole week. I thought maybe af wouldn't come until mid-week next week, which would have meant I'd be away for the entire week leading up to O eating MIL's meat-filled meals.

Ok, I decided to call today's bleeding 'light', so now FF gave me a new chart with today as CD1. I hope that's right! It feels good to have a fresh start - hopefully once af is done the spotting will stop as well. I almost wish the flow was heavier, though - I would feel like I have a better chance of getting everything out of there.

I did cave and take an HPT this morning, and all it did is make me more confused. There was no line, but if I held it up to JUST the right light, I could see a shadow where the second line should be. I took the test (a FRER) right apart to check and noticed that on the actual testing part there's an indent where the second line should go - I opened another old test and saw the same thing. Do you think I was just seeing the shadow from that indent? I want to start taking Vitex again, but I'm afraid to if there's even the slightest chance I might be preggo.

Hi Lemon, I am by no means an expert but I will of course fill you in on my plan for this month!!! Usually DH releases from CD1 through to +OPK (about day 14) then we DTD but I was finding I wasn't getting pregnant so decided to change things a bit....

DH was actually away with work in the States for a few days during AF, so did not start to release daily until CD6. He then released daily until CD 13 when he released himself then we DTD. Day 14 (+OPK), he released once, then we DTD again then Day 15 (+OPK), we DTD again (without a release first as he said it might fall off...... :) ) I am now 8DPO and hoping to hold off till Monday to test but may cave tomorrow evening.. Will let you know! I definately feel more tired at the moment and have sensitive boobs, so who knows! Good luck with your attempt. xx

So basically DH did release cd 6 to 13,...released and DTD 13, release and DTD 14 and then DTD 15???
How long after release did you DTD?
Did you o on cd 15? I gather since it was the second day of pos OPK right? Did you get a temp dip?

It sounds like my attempt last month...compressed fr from cd 8 to 10, release and DTD, release and dtd, then dtd on o day...I think, my temp dipped that day. BFN:( but I think it was the fact that it was shallow and I used rephresh a bit and one day actually used rephresh douche before so I made it very hard to succeed...???? Or, I am not that fertile and this will take a lot longer even on o day!

Mocha - sounds sensible, I've had tests that I've done that have been negative but I can also see the shadow where the line would be and I think it was the indent too. If it had colour, it's a genuine VFP, if it's colourless it's more than likely an evap or the indent




My little boy is one year old now! We've had a lovely birthday for him today, I can't believe it's gone so quickly... and I can't believe love can feel like this. I think I'm addicted!

My bleeding's continued all day today without a break, so I think it's safe to assume that HPT really was negative and this is af. I certainly hope so, because I bought some wine to have with dh tonight! I'm feeling a little better now that I'm at CD1 - it's a fresh start, and hopefully a less confusing cycle. Only 2 weeks or less (hopefully) until I O!

A question for the ladies who've had losses - did your O after your first af come at the regular time?

There's no mistaking now that this is my period - the flow's quite heavy now. Phew! I'm so relieved to finally know what's going on. I guess that means I should start back on the Vitex and peppermint tea....

yes, I OV'ed on CD10 after my first AF - unusual for me as I normally used to OV late

Woohoo! That gives me hope, rainbowflower! An early O would be fantastic because it means we could do our attempt while we're still at home!

I didn't use Rephresh as didn't really like it and ran out so didn't buy any more!

I don't temp as find it a bit stressful and never really got on with it so I just rely on OPKs. I only usually get one day of +OPK, then ovulate the next day, so in getting 2 days, I am not sure when I ovulated but it may have been day 15 (which only makes me 8DPO today).

We DTD a couple of hours after the releases to give DH time to recharge (his words...)

We are on month 3 of TTC and if not pregnant this month will take a break till after Christmas, then do a hardcore 6 weeks on the diet and attempt again!

Well, we've been doing a great job keeping up w/the BD...so much so that on Sat we ended up doing it 2x. Things got a bit hot and I sort of got into it too much. :oops: I ended up w/a big O but at least it was before DH had his. I guess that makes it better (?)...oh, well. My temp went up a bit today but not the spike I was hoping for so I may O today or tomorrow (???) or I may end up not even Oing this cycle at all. If I don't get a BFP this time, it wasn't for a lack of trying, lol!
We'll probably give it a go tonight as well although maybe we shouldn't since I've been enjoying it too much lately...:flowerz:

On Sat afternoon, as DS2 napped and DS1 was totally engrossed in a movie, my husband lured me to the bedroom under false pretenses for some sex. So we had sex. It was OK, wasn't in the mood (was two days from AF, not at feeling anything and still upset about BFN again).

So we finish, we get up, I make him coffee, etc etc I'm lazying around on the couch trying to read a book while DS1 still watching a movie on the computer and I tell DH that I'm really "tired" today, and he says "maybe its because your egg is being fertilized" I tell him, "Ummm, I'm not ovulating, but thanks for the thought." LOL

Then yesterday, I tell him that I'm frustrated over the BFNs (I confess and tell him about the 3 negative pregnancy tests), and he says "but you're ovulating? I saw the test lying around, and I knew you'd need the big guns ready."

Hmmm? A negative pregnancy test makes an ovulation test? LOL, seriously, sometimes men crack me up. I guess he didn't read the box that says for a pos ovulation test it needs two lines, not one line???

LOL, at least he tried. I guess he thought he was being brave by having sex with me (and starting it) when he thought I was ovulating!!! Haha, how romantic!!

I think I've decided that I'm going to use Rephresh I'll do more than one attempt, since my one attempt + full applicator of Rephresh = BFN, though our attempt had been on a Sunday and the full applicator of Rephresh had gone in late Friday night....still trying decide on a sway plan for our Christmas attempt, since I should be O'ing on Christmas Day!

So far my thoughts for my sway in Dec. include:

peppermint tea, lower calories, working out, IF I use rephresh (2-3 attempts before O), if no represh, ONE attempt, lots of negative ions, will be new moon, in a girl sign (I figure the moon stuff can't hurt since it's all working out for me in favor of a 'girl')

and if I do concieve, how cool will it be that the baby would be created on Christmas Day! And Sept. is such a beautiful month to have a birthday in! (I'm trying to get my gears switched to thinking more 'positively' now)

auroara - I like the thought of that! I'm expecting to OV some time between Christmas and New Year and September is my IDEAL month to have a baby too so it would be just perfect.... PMA!

I'm hoping the RepHresh works for you this time. O'ing on Christmas sounds very auspicious!!! I think your plan sounds great! I really wish I was working out for this sway but I know it would be a real struggle to keep it up enough to sway pink. GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Rainbow, I'm really excited for your 1st attempt! BTW, belated Happy B-Day to your son. The 1st B-Day is really a big one, especially when it's your 1st LO turning 1 year. Such a wonderful and bittersweet thing. :HH:

Oh, Mocha, wouldn't that be awesome!! I keep thinking about getting like a mother's ring or necklace when I'm thru having kids, and the sapphire would look so cool in it :P I'd have the diamond/cubia Z for April (DS2) and I guess rose quartz or opal? (October for DS1) and then sapphire would look so neat with it...hehe I'm getting ahead of myself but it'd be sooooo cool if all of us got preggers at end of month / early next month and ended up with gorgeous september bundles of *pink* hopefully!

Also, I really want to hurry up and get a BFP becuz if our late Dec Christmas attempt is a NO, I will be skipping Jan, as I don't want my two kids to share a birth month if possible!

Mocha you can check out my O charts. The very first one was the first AF after loss. It's august. Had O regularly since. Check it out if you like.

Thanks Z. I'm definitely out though. Had a blood test to confirm. Really disappointed bc noe I'm in a crohns flare which makes me not even able to ttc for December. Feeling a little better will start fresh for January. Our sways where so similar. Glad you heard pink!!!

Thanks, HopeandDream - I did check them out. One question - I notice that for the two cycles after your loss you O'd around day 16-17, but in your Nov cycle you O'd on day 12. Which one of those is 'normal' for you? Did you find you O'd later than usual on the first couple of cycles after your loss? I'm reeeeeaaallly praying for an early O because our attempts are going to become logistically difficult once we leave for our trip on the 22nd.

I also notice you had a short af in August - just 3 days of heavy bleeding? Today is my third day of real flow, and it's definitely tapering off. I think it will just be light tomorrow and hopefully disappear shortly after that.

Today I went to the dr for a check up and I told him I am ttc again , He is our family dr and a very good one... He laughed and said well I can already tell you the gender it will be a boy he said coming from your husbands family there are only boys and he laughed.. My 3 yr old son then went on to say I want a baby sister which he always says and my dr laughed at him and said yes maybe oneday. I always read so much into what everyone says now i feel like giving up as my MIL believes I will never get a girl and tells me not to even mention anything about having a baby girl because its just not going to happen.. Really upset my day it has! So I had a cheese and bacon roll for lunch and now I feel worse!!!! I just feel like whats the point putting myself thru this not just the diet but the stress of everything else that goes with it when I will get another boy anyway. Sorry but I am just down about it all now..

pinkin - sorry you had a rough day. That's very insensitive of your doctor and MIL to say that. My brother's like that - he always jokes that I'm going to end up with a troop of boys if I keep trying to have a girl. Try not to feel down. Lots of boy moms get their girl against supposedly unsurmountable odds. :HH:

I think it probably depends on how quickly you want to get pregnant. Personally, I'm older (37) and after this m/c particularly want to be pregnant again ASAP, so I'm not going to leave it to one attempt. It took us 4 months to get pregnant last summer, and that was with sometimes up to 7 attempts in one month, so I don't like my odds of getting pregnant with one attempt.

I think I remember you saying you're young? Maybe one attempt would be enough for you.

For me, my big question is whether to do fr or rephresh or both. Last summer we didn't get pregnant until we dropped the rephresh. I wonder if frequent release in combo with rephresh and all the other stuff we do to lower sperm count was just too much for dh's aging sperm. I think we'll either do frequent release with no rephresh, or not do fr but use rephresh. So many decisions....

I have been doing so well on this sdiet I am also finding around my nails the skin is peeling and I heard that is from a diet lacking in vitamins. wounder how true that is. should be true anyway because i pretty much eat the same thing everyday!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you going anyway Mocha when are you due for your next attempt?

we'll be doing more than one attempt too. We have never conceived first month before, and want to get pregnant fast.
I'll be using RepHresh which will lower the pH between attempts so shouldn't cancel out the lower sperm count

Yeah - this diet really does a number on our diets, pinkin. I'm on CD4 now and hoping to have my attempt in about a week.

We actually have conceived the 1st month with both our other children but I also would like to conceive fast this time as well if at all possible. So I'm thinking we might do FR and rephresh along with a few attempts. Although I don't think I'm going to do extra rephresh the day of BD. I'm just not sure there are so many options.

Mocha, I love how you and Jen are both in the camp of having multiple attempts! Wishing for a fairy on IG BD'ed like I think 6 days in a row and got a girl, I do think its possible, definitely with rephresh helping to keep the Ph down, since I think raising ph is one of the reasons frequent BD'ing is a no no. I also realize more sperm is supposedly bad for a girl sway, but since my boys were one shot pull out wonders (what does that say about that LOWERED sperm count?? According to sperm count theory alone, they should have been GIRLS!) I am considering doing the opposite hoping for an opposite effect...essentially BD'ing as much as can (poor DH, can he handle it? LOL) and using Rephresh to keep PH in check.

We'll see. I'm sure if I dropped rephresh totally we'd get pregnant easily, but I feel that using rephresh is going to require more BD'ing to get pregnant. I really want to get pregnant in late Dec as like I said I need to avoid Jan, and I really don't want to spend months on this diet TTC'ing.

It's so hard not obessing about swaying, LOL.

Jen, have you O'ed yet? You guys done BDing? How many attempts did you get in?

Lemon, are you O'ing soon? What's going on with you, babe?

I am waiting for AF to show up today, and so far there is like NO sign which is pissng me off, LOL. I do NOT want a late AF, that's just gonna throw off my ovulation and make me annoyed, lol. I really want to O on Christmas Day, so she better show up today or else :P

Regarding your strategy, I say go w/your gut and do what feels right. IMHO, as long as you don't get into it too much :p BD a bunch is good if you're using something like RepHresh. Also, trust in the diet. I think it's one of the biggest factors by FAR. :HH:

Check out my chart (in my siggie)...No O yet. It feels like my body is still trying to decide whether or not to do it this cycle. HUGS, HUGS and more HUGS for you, Mama! Yesterday was a bad day for me too. I’m so sorry. Try not to punish yourself about lunch. Just move on b/c one meal isn’t going to break things for you. It's the overall trend that matters! Your MIL sounds like my Mom unfortunately. Although I lost my girl, it felt good to let my Mom know she was indeed a girl b/c it felt like maybe it’s possible again. I think your Dr. probably thinks he knows more than he understands about how we get the genders we do. He may be really good but they don’t teach that stuff in Med school, lol…honestly, I think we know much more than they do (thanks to this site and Atomic :Flower: ), especially since we’re immersed in this every day. He means well but try not to let his words effect you. We’ll help you keep your dream alive here, Pink!!! :cheer:

I’m of the “DTD like rabbits” camp myself :p …Check out my chart below... We’re using RepHresh & lots attempts. Ultimately, do what feels right for you!!!
