Hobber!!! How are you doing!!! It could be just days now until you know whos in there!!!! Sooo very excited for you xxx
Have any come a little early for you??
ELP, they have all been about a week or so early. I am hoping this one will be here soon, but not too soon! I have a lot to get done first!
Scan is tomorrow morning and my stomach is in knots. Beginning to regret scheduling an ultrasound! I'm terrified of what I may or may not see, even with asking the tech not to tel :(
I want so badly to be OK with whatever baby is but I am so scared.
Skrimpy, good luck tomorrow! You can do like I did, and not watch anything unless the tech says it is safe to do so. I had my eyes closed for probably half my scan! But I didn't see anything. :)
Will be thinking of you tomorrow! I hope you see blue...I told the tech not to say anything but to let me look if I wanted and see if I could figure out...my plan was if I didn't see obvious boy bits was going to say I didn't want her to say and I could tell myself I'd still have a chance at birth. Good luck and let us know! fx
Fingers x'ed for a lovely clear blue scan skrimpy!!!
Thinking of you today Skrimpy! Hope it all goes well!
Thank you so much ladies!!! DH and I went to lunch after the scan then went to the grocery store, hardware store, and Walmart (aren't we romantic, lol).
I appreciate your words so much because they were so helpful!! Hobber and Yahmama I was esp. thinking about what both of you guys did for your scans b/c both seemed good options. I was still super-nervous before the u/s... my hands were so cold and clammy from nerves.
We got in there and DH told her right away that I didn't really want to know, but that he wanted an envelope. So she started the scan on up and everything looks good with our little bub!! All fingers and toes, brain, heart, cord, kidneys, etc. look good. My hunch on the placenta was correct (figured posterior since I feel Riceball all the time).
It was amazing to watch - the first part of the scan baby was very active, all over, essentially turning flips! I saw a shot where toes were up by head, which I've never seen so that was very cool. I wish she'd gotten a still shot of that. We also got a great shot of the hand in front of the face and you can see the little hand so well, again, very amazing.
She told us when she was going to do leg measurements so we took a suggestion from Hobber and DH covered my eyes!
We think the baby fell asleep near the end of the scan - she tried getting a 3D shot but the baby was super-snuggly with the placenta and she just couldn't get a good shot to come up... and couldn't get baby to move!
As for gender - early in the scan I saw a couple of brief moments that could have been boy, then some where I saw legs but nothing in between. So I felt pretty good that I could still have some hope but not be sure.
So she sent us out to the lobby so she could prepare DH's envelope and get our pictures and picture CD. I felt tons better and of course kept flipping through my pictures when she brought them (she brought me hard copies and a CD). The CD has two short video clips but not the whole scan.
However, looking at one of the pictures, I am wondering if the tech messed up and got something in the photo she didn't mean to... do you think I should post up that pic in the u/s forum and see what everyone thinks??
YES:rofl:
So pleased baby is perfect xx
For sure post some pics :)
Glad everything went well and baby looks good
Post your picture!
So glad everything went well and Riceball is growing nicely. Hopefully your DH won't open the envelope, but if he does, I hope he can keep it to himself. :)
I still have the full CD of my scan. The tech told me not to watch it until the baby is born, so I have it tucked in my underwear drawer. Occasionally, I remember it is there, and have a smidgen of temptation to watch it, but I am not truly tempted. Staying team green has been a huge help to me this time!
Okay, here are the still shots we got! http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultr...scan-pics.html
Hobber that's too funny - I was planning on getting the second envelope and putting it in my underwear drawer!! At the scan I decided I didn't want to get my own envelope.
I did show DH the shot I was suspicious about (it's in the link above) and he said he felt it was convincing (this is the guy who claims he can't tell an ear from a leg on ultrasound...).
He's been picking at me about the envelope all afternoon, but then after we got home told me he was giving it to me! So I have it stuffed away (I didn't look at it). I think he wanted me to post the pics here, too, and he's hoping I'll look at the envelope! I don't know that I want to, and now I'm curious if he's going to ask for it back. I figured I'd post up the pics before I decided if I'd give it a look... Just still not sure I want to.
WHat a cute baby, Skrimpy! And I agree, that last shot is suspicious! That could be a weenie! But I don't know that I would open the envelope based on that alone, you know what I mean? That's just me, though--I would hate to be let down. P.S. I love the pic of the hand--too cool!
That is how I'm feeling right now too, Hobber. It's enough to make me hopeful but not convince me. DH says maybe it'll get my hopes up too much so I should look, but I really don't know that I want to.
And I love the hand shot, I've never gotten one quite like that. At one point we could tell Riceball's hands were both crossed across the face, a little shy baby <3 I am glad now I went for the scan, it was a lot of fun to watch the baby.
I am SO glad everything looks great with rice ball! If you're like me, I couldn't stop looking at them (still havent! They're sitting right here beside computer!). I think if you do decide to open the envelope maybe you should let DH do it and ask him to reveal it to you when he wants to. That way maybe he'll possible hold off if it is girl, but you won't know for sure!
Okay, updated in post 26 of the u/s thread :p
Hobber, Hobber, Hobber, where are you Hobber:bigsmile:
I had davys paed appointment yesterday due to his reflux, Doc was more than happy with him and said as an experienced mother he was sure I knew he was ok and if I had any worries then to contact him. DC2 was a sicky monkey too which he grew out of at about a year old, so I pretty much knew this was similar to Dave, I know the health Visitors have to keep an eye on these things just incase, but it is a pain having to go to out of town appointments isnt it:)
Jen hows your little fella!!
Oh and on a slightly different note, I put something in my eye last night which caused an allergic reaction and made my eye ball and eyelids all puffy, when I woke up this morning is was practically swollen shut, i took a picture but I look well ROUGH in it:rofl: Its gone down now but I may post the dodgey pic for a laugh later on, no time now DH due in!!!!
Skrimpy, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited for you!
Our scan is a week from Monday, the 24th. We want a boy so stinking bad that I haven't been able to even get on here in months. Can't stand the waiting game. Same when we were ttc. All the talk makes me looney! =)
So excited for all the boys coming!
Lol hopeful:) It can definately do your head in on here wh en your waiting being so gender based. Sometimes it is good to step back, enjoy the pregnancy and let gender reveal itself when it does. best of luck on the 24th!!
I've been a wreck all week as an old friend went to a routine check up and they couldn't find baby's heartbeat...turns out cord got wrapped around his neck :( so distraught for her and the thought that it could happen to me is so scary. And knowing there is nothing at all I can do to prevent something like that except praying that all stays well. Has anyone else known anybody that has happened to? This is the 3rd close friend in the past 6 years I've known that has had a stillborn due to a cord accident...that percentage seems to high to me.. :( trying not to worry and hoping I haven't also made anyone else worried...so sorry if I have, but just wanted to talk about it...
Hi guys just letting u know I'm back in hosputal :(
Thinking of you 5 :( xxxxxx
Uterine infection and retained placenta. Surgery was cancelled because my.previous section scar has thinned out too my h making it too dangerous to do.
Skrimpy - congrats again on the little blue bean, glad the boy joy is feeling a little more real :)
Hobber - if yours tend to come early it's officially any day now!!! Oh and you have nerves of steel, if I had the gender cd in my home I would have caved within the hour lol
ELP - Sorry about Davy's reflux. DD2 had is so sever we ended up at the children's hospital with failure to thrive. It wouldn't have gotten that bad if my stupid ex-pedi had listened to me. My current pedi fixed her up quick and now she's great, fx Davy grows out of his soon.
Charlie is pretty good, he's eating solids like a champ but he's having a hard time with those damn teeth so his sleeping sucks. He's got the cutest skootching crawl, I think he'll be up on his actual hands and knees in no time. omg this is happening so fast!
Oh your poor eye, yes post the pic so we can all giggle
Yahmama - awe, your poor friend, so devistating :broken: I've heard of it but happening but don't actually know anyone it happened to, I'm sure your little guy will be just fine :)
hope.ful - you found out yesterday right??
oh 5 my love, fx they get you healthy and back home soon :bighug:
Questing for you ladies with older boys, were they clingier and nursed more then your girls? He's such a momma's baby and I'm trying to figure out if this is a boy thing or a Charlie thing.
Has anyone heard an update on Hobber??? Thought she said last week on a timing thread that she was going to be induced early this week???
3p1b- my DS was DEFFO a champ nurser and would never take anything else...but once he was about 11 mon old he all of a sudden was "too busy" to nurse, so I put pumped milk in a sippy cup for him and did that till he was 12 mo...but my dd1 was even worse...she wouldn't even take pumped...had to have it straight from momma! Think it depends on each baby's personality!
