Fish I felt similar, chips (I don't normally eat) and avocado the first trimester, now salads with vinegary dressing and home made popcorn which is becoming my second dinner these days :-) I might make some now.

I'm obsessed with avocado!
Fish-avocado is sooooooo good for you!! Eat up!! Apparently you can survive on just eating avocado-it's full of sooooo many good things for your body! I personally cannot stand the stuff! Lol
Lately I've been craving wine! Lol a bad one-I don't drink a drop while pregnant, just a commitment I make to myself, as I usually love a glass or 2 over dinner. The other preg I haven't even thought about it, but I don't know if I'm just more tired and stressed with the other 3 munchkins I find myself really looking for some at the end of the night!! I have to settle for apple cider-which I actually am really loving too so it's not too bad!
I too have totally gone off red meat, I'll eat chicken and a bit of fish (not seafood just a piece of fish) but cannot stomach a steak - so trying to increase my spinach etc to keep my iron up!
Thanks queen bee, the sonographer said they were very convincing gender pics, I don't know why I still have a little doubt-I'm sure it's just coz I've wanted this for so long and worked so hard for it I don't actually believe its happening!!
Yes I was thinking the same about Thorz- but I know her mum is with her so maybe she is just a bit more busy?? I think her scan is thurs-I so hope she updates us all! Doesn't feel right without her on here the last few days. Also Diva hasn't been on in a whole but think she is still visiting home??
And who do we have on wed getting their scan?? Then is that it??
Now what are we going to obsess about lol.... Names-names is a good one!! We can obsess over that lol
Salsa I've been craving wine too! I don't drink at all when pregnant either and I can't remember missing it with the others but I do this time.
I have never really had any cravings except with DD2 when I was massively into drinking milk. I had an ARM with her and it was tricky and the midwife said it's common to get hard to rupture membranes in big milk drinkers.
Is anyone else so busy with family life they forget they're pregnant? Weekends are full on and I often forget about it until I bend over or sit down.
DLTAG- You have a lot of great name choices. My fave is Gabriella but not sure if you want her first and last name to be a G.
Salsa- Darcey Lyn is too darn cute!
Longing- Glad you are feeling better. I've been really run down lately too but also been sick ugh.
This pregnancy I craved anything spicey, the more the burn the better! My craving has mostly subsided now though.
It's me that has scan on Wednesday! I'm soooo excited, as you know sonographers said girl at 17.5 weeks, well there was 2 sonographers in the room and they both said girl. I just same as u can't believe it so I'm praying my 20 week scan confirms girl! So scared it won't!!!
Funny you've gone off meat too! It's hard at meal times as obviously living with hubby and my boys I have to make meat! When I really don't even wanna smell it!
If I hear pink Wednesday just wanted to get it off my chest that I'm going to stop in a baby shop and go wild!
Glad some of you like the names :) It really is such a tough descion and i'm still looking at baby name wesbites for more ideas. I will prob end up with a list as long as my arm.
I've had no cravings this time which is a bit boring but i've really been into chocolate, must be a girl :) With DS1 i wanted nothing more than a raw steak, i used to open them and just sniff it, yuck.
DLTAG, I also love Gabriella! Very very beautiful!
Mel, oh, I know how you're feeling, I was always anxious about the following scans as well. I always thought there might still be the possibility that a penis has grown, lol. Wishing you a great, girl-confirming scan on Wednesday!
Salsa, Darcey is such a cute name!!
I am craving Sushi, lol. Red meat is something I usually don't like anyway. Oh, avocado is sooo healthy!!! Unfortunately I don't like it, but I would be glad if I did, lol! Salad with vinegar... yummy... I am not craving too much sugar. I usually love sweets. I am glad I am eating healthier this pregnancy... I think I used the other pregnancies as an excuse to eat anything, lol!!
Longing pregnancy is a valid reason to eat anything ;-s with all the stress this time I can't seem to stop eating thinking of doing Le for weight loss after bubba lol
Oh yes, I am planning the same thing!! Lol. I feel like I am eating healthier than ever, but I am still gaining weight like crazy. This pregnancy is going out of hand :sigh:
Hi ladies
I don't know if any of you are still reading northerns blog but i contacted her and asked if she'd like flowers sent for Evelyn's funeral and they have a lovely simple family arrangement plan however her dh is running a really gruelling v long run and raising money for the a charity at their local hospital who support mums through difficult births like Evelyn's.
I'm going to donate in Evelyn's memory if any one would like details please pm me
Xx
Sorry ladies ive been MIA I've just been spending a lot of time with my mom and haven't been on the Internet at all! I have my scan on Thursday :) I'm super tired right now but will be on more often from now on. I hope all is well with everyone, I haven't had time to catch up yet.
Hi Thorz glad you're okay, only 4 days
How exciting mel and Thorz!
Spent 4 hours at emergency this morning with DS2 who helped himself to Miller Harris (perfume) this morning. I was with him when it happened but he was too quick. We were told he will be fine, he probably didn't drink too much of it. Now sitting in the hospital feeling guilty especially after DH comment that they will send social services on us, which I thought was a ridiculous comment. Surely these things must happen all the time.
Oh girlsway, I'm so sorry to hear that!! You poor things. Poor little guy! I hope he feels better soon. I doubt social services will be notified. I'm sure they see all sorts of things in hospital! Hope you get home soon. x x x
They prob will send social services! It's ridiculous! When ds3 had his accident with his eye the dr called.... And then he told me that it wasn't an accident and I punched my 5 month old in the face! I was livid... However my social service worker was quite awesome and she was literally in my house for 5 seconds to see where he fell and then left... She talked to me a lot at the hospital and she talked to ds1 as well asking questions about me and DH
Funny thing is my friend has taken her daughter to the hospital for crazy things and has never been called on...
I find it ridiculous that they phone every chance they get cause I think that it will scare a lot of parents into getting proper care! I remember when I took ds3 to the hospital and I called my mom and she yelled at me cause they are gonna cal them on me... I ask what should I have done kept him home?! I was so mad at her... I guess she didnt understand how serious the injury was... Funny cause she is a social worker....
Thanks girls, little one is totallly fine, they said he chose more natural perfume to drink, but I have a feeling he didnt drink too much. And thats the problem, did we panic too quickly? I'd rather have these things checked than be sorry later. They said a Health visitor will come round, but did they just try to cover up the social service referal? I am furious as these things happen to many of us and they just make me feel like I am not good enough mum despite the fact I always tried so hard to do everything properly. There is bound to be another incident with 3 children at some point in the future and what will happen then?
It prob is a social worker... After we have babies here we have to bring the baby to the hospital for a check up the day after they come home and your told its a health check up but it's a social worker that you meet with hmmmmmmm ;( it makes me so mad!
Oh girl sway poor you sure it'll be fine my friends son drank dishwasher liquid and there was no follow up at all which I kinda think is more preventable ;-? I'm sure it'll be fine hun just keep your cool and I'm sure they' ll see there's no issue hate to say it but if hospital picked up you worked full time they have made some super quick wrong assumptions ;-(
Thinking of you horrible stress xx
We will know tomorrow when I get the phone call, lets hope it is really a health visitor.
DH and I are still a bit jumpy and I will be checking regularly on the little one tonight. Can't imagine how will I feel tomorrow at work, I have a deadline and have to go in. It's crazy. Thanks girls for the support, its much appreciated. I will update again tomorrow.
Some paeds departments (in Aussie and nz anyway) have a policy that all ingestions have social worker follow up. They're aware that most of the time there's no issue, I wouldn't take it personally.
You won't have any issues so don't worry about it it will just be a check up and then ur file would be closed any ways so def don't stress about it
I can't believe that there is social work follow up for accidental ingestion. It was perfume and you were right there and knew how much he had. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that social services wouldn't show up for that here. I don't think I know anyone who has had social services visit them. I wouldn't stress about it much Girlsway especially since it is done for all ingestion. Just make sure your kids are clean, the house is clean, the laundry is done, etc. I am sure they will come and see there is nothing to worry about and move on.
Hey girls sway any news thinking of you xx
Sorry to drop by uninvited, but i saw your worries about tearing. Recently a collegue of mine gave birth to her first and the shoulders kept stuck and they tried a lot of things to get the baby out; legs besides the ears, they put her on hands and knees, and eventually broke the subclavian of the baby to pul him out.
I thought she would have had a tear at least or a episiotomy, but nothing! Her midwife recommended to use 'epi-no' because results were promising. And although it is anecdotical evidence, i think it is worth looking it up. Here's a link http://www.epino.nl/PDF/first_clinical1_2.pdf
bigwish thanks for the link, been having a look and it looks like something i might invest in. Anything is worth giving a go so i dont tear, Thank you :D
Girlsway hopeyour little one is doing ok today and i also hope the health visitor visit goes ok if they end up coming. I hate it when they come round, they always seem so intrusive and ask stupid questions.
health vistor home visit when ds1 was a week old those fireplaces could be dangerous.....yeah probably not to a one week old who can't move thou!
UGH surely there must be better things they could do with thier time!
You would think! I see real homes that they REALLY should be visiting! Omg my friend who lives 10 hours away from me has a friend and she got in a domestic dispute and he punched her in the face so she hit him and ran to call the cops... Well social services took the kids away from her and gave them to him! This happen like 3-4 months ago she gets to see her kids once a month ... She has a court date at the end of this month finally but how does this happen! The visits where she sees the kids there is a social worker watching and sitting in and the kids have both said during visits that their dad is hitting them and they come hungry and dirty! And they do nothing! This is the only horror story that I know of and it sickens me cause the kids should be with their mother cause she is a good mom and was only protecting herself!
How's everyone feeling here? Anybody got heartburn, mine is really kicking in the last few days. Only 1 whole day till my scan!!
No heartburn for me, just really bad hips, sprained foot, and an occasional Charlie horse in my leg. Truthfully I still don't have a proper baby bump, I just look fat!!! Oh I am moody and get an occasional headache too. Oh wait I forgot, I almost passed out at the store yesterday from low blood sugar, I get that way occasionally.
Little one had a good night, he is happy and no phone call so all good.
Mel good luck tomorrow.
Bigwish I tried epino with DS2 and still ended up with stitches. I will use it this time round too but it doesn't do miracles.
I always get heartburn from hell! I have to sleep sitting up... I take Zantac almost everyday...
He he what's a Charlie horse?
Great scan today all okay (well aside from the known) and he showed me our lill twin Miriam she's nestled under my anterior placenta cuddled by her big sister really been grieving for her last few days so angry with god for taking her and been praying for a miracle for her, slowly accepting that wont happen which is hard but today really helped which probably sounds odd!
Just wish now I'd asked for a pic - do they save them do you think I could call tomorrow and ask?
You should call and ask! I know herr they print pics and they get sent to the dr
Charlie horse = really nasty leg cramp!
Ah thanks wag yes keep getting those too ;-)
Yes I'm gonna call them x
Cramps started here as well, they woke me up couple of times last night. It could be due less salty diet I was eating recently. And heartburn is a constant nuisance. 3.5 months to go!
I find that I only get the leg cramps at night when I stretch my legs in my sleep
