Good luck Mocha! Keep us posted on your progress!
Good Luck Mocha!!!
Just lost my mucus plug!
SO EXCITING Mocha!! I can't wait for updates!~
And Hobbermittens, I know what you mean by not getting what you want in life. I didn't expect to get the family make-up I got in a million years, but I've grown love what I have. I know it's hard - sometimes I still wish dd had come with a twin, just so I could get *some of what I originally dreamed of having.
But instead of dwelling on the fact that I have only 1 girl, I try to appreciate the fact that I can have her to myself. If your baby is a girl, your boy will be your only sweet mama's boy and you two will share an unbreakable bond. Just as dd will look to me for a female companion, your boy will see you as the first woman he loved. I think he's lucky! And so are you :o
Besides, I still think you're having a boy. I felt the same way about Skrimpy and she's having a boy so who knows? Fingers crossed for you, but if it's a girl you'll be a great mum to her - just like you already are to your other three kids. :awe:
C'mon Sadie!!!!!! Goodluck Mocha.....So excited for you to finally hold your precious daughter :)
Hoorah for mucus plugs! Can't wait to see your darling daughter MJ!
Best of luck Mocha!! I looove the name Sadie btw:HH::)
Well, the contractions calmed overnight, which I guess is a good thing because it meant I slept. I had maybe 1-2 contractions an hour in the night, and this morning I lost more mucus plug.
I've been up for half an hour or so now and I've only had one contraction - though it was a really strong one. I'm hoping moving around a bit will kickstart them again. Sadie's really restless this morning, moving around a lot. I have to get the older boys off to school, and I'm debating whether or not to send ds3 to preschool this morning.
Anyway, I'm happy I made it to today because now my favourite midwife is back on call. I'm really hoping today's the day! It's been over 24 hours of regular contractions now, and I'm getting tired!
Fingers crossed for you Mocha - I'm stalking your updates lol!
I hope you have a very easy labour after all this waiting! :D
Thank you Myloves. This brought tears to my eyes. I love my little boy so much, and he already is a mama's boy.... I know we will always have that bond. I was just hoping to give him the brother he wants so much, and to be able to have that bond with another little gentleman in my life as well.
Mocha, thanks for updating! I have my fingers crossed that today is the day! COME ON SADIE!
My contractions are starting to get really intense (often I can't talk while having one), but they're still 10-15 minutes apart. I'm not supposed to call my midwife until they're 5 minutes apart for an hour. I'm hoping things speed up soon!
Wow 5 mins apart for an hour! I would have thought that was quite a while to wait, both of mine were pretty much born by that point! How long were your previous labours? x
My twins were induced at 37w5d and after 27 hours I was only at 8cm so they gave me a c-section.
With ds3 (a VBAC) I had my first contraction at 1am and they were quick and painful right from the start. I went to the hospital at 5am, and he was born at 10:30am.
Go in when you feel ready mocha, things might pick up all of a sudden being a 3rd pregnancy, best of luck xxx
Thanks, ladies. The contractions are still pretty irregular (anywhere from 5-15 minutes apart) so I don't think I'm there yet. I managed to bring ds3 to preschool today amidst it all, and just came back from a walk around the neighborhood. I may give my midwife a call in a couple of hours if nothing has changed to at least give her a heads-up that she may be attending a birth today.
Thinking of you Mocha <3 <3 <3 Good birthing vibes coming your way :D
Oh yay Mocha, this is so exciting! I agree with the others, call when you feel you should. My conx only got regular and really close together about an hour before E arrived!
so exciting Mocha!!! I hope today is the day!! whoo hooo!!
Lillian is two weeks old today :)
myloves, what your wrote for Hobbers was so beautiful...and I agree, I think mama's boys are the best! I really think and hope you will be holding a boy in your arms in October :)
Good luck MJ! Sending loads of love your way and hoping you are holding sadie very soon!! Can't wait to see her xxxxxx
I'm feeling the love, ladies (and I always love hearing from you, swish!).
Still pretty much the same here - contractions anywhere from 6 to 20 minutes apart. Starting to get really impatient for this show to get on the road. My body's starting to get really tired dealing with all these contractions and I feel like I'm going to feel like this forever.
Can you go in to be checked Mocha?
Mocha can you go to bed? I know it's probably the last thing on your mind but if you can relax and regroup, stop timing conx etc then that may help. Have a chat with Sadie and tell her that you're ready, have a cry if you feel like it! Remind yourself whenever you get a conx that each one brings you closer to your baby :-) Hugs xx
I can call my midwife - but she doesn't work at the hospital, so I wouldn't just go in to get checked. We just use the hospital as a place to birth the baby - if all goes well I'll be in and out of there without seeing a single OB or nurse.
I'm planning to call her this afternoon to tell her what's up.
I paged my mw just to tell her what's up. I'll let you know what she says when she calls back.
Z - I'm not a napper at the best of times. I don't think there's any way I could make myself sleep right now. Luckily for me I slept ok last night - the contractions calmed down enough that I was only up 1-2 times and hour and got back to sleep quickly afterwards.
That's good advice about stepping away from the stopwatch (or, in my case, the iPhone app) and stop obsessing over timing the contractions. I'm toying with the idea of even taking ds3 and going out shopping with my Mom as a distraction.
I talked to my midwife. She thinks things sound like they're progressing normally for a third pregnancy. She thinks I'll probably go into active labour sometime in the night. She's going to call me in the morning if she hasn't heard from me and she'll have me go in for a non-stress test to make sure Sadie's ok.
I'm to call her back right away, though, of my water breaks. This may sound silly, but how do I know for sure when that happens? Just now I was getting out of my car and I felt a little gush. I was wearing a pad, though, because I've been having tons of discharge after losing my plug, so I don't know if the gush was discharge, water or pee  I took the pad off so at least maybe I'll notice if I start getting wet.
sorry just to stick my nose in your thread but i've had my waters go twice. WARNING very much a tmi description (but hope it helps)
Firstly i know its gross but smell it (your pad) it won't smell like wee does. The amount depends on which part of your waters go. With mine i woke up feeling like i really needed a wee got half way across the landing and put my hand between my legs and felt it, there was a lot both times but my hind waters went. It should be yellow and straw like in colour and will often have a bit of your plug in it. You also can't control it, if you try to stop your wee it stops (even if harder when pg) your waters will just go like a flood gate.
Also if it is your waters it will happen again, every time baby moves or they fill up it will keep going every hour or so (pretty gross i know). I hope she shows up soon can't wait to see the baby pics x
That's great advice - thanks! I'll wait and see if it happens again. It was definitely yellow, but so is my discharge so it still could have been a gush of that. This is also TMI, but I stuck my finger in my vj - just into the opening - and it came out looking very wet and watery.
Hmm maybe it was your waters! Two times my waters went really obviously. I felt and heard them go pop and then a massive gush! With E they never went obviously. Right after I had her I asked the midwife when my waters broke and she didn't know but it must have been not long after I arrived when I felt a very small gush and hadn't thought it enough to be my waters! I know you won't nap Mocha but try and relax or you'll be exhausted once things really get going. Do you like baths? Sounds like things are heading in the right direction though. Sending super smooth labour vibes!
I'm sitting in the sun in the backyard right now reading a magazine, so don't worry, Z - I'm relaxing :).
The contractions have gotten a little more frequent and intense since my water may or may not have broken, so I'm hoping things will get started before the middle of the night (it's only 4pm here).
Hi Mocha, sounds like it could be your waters. I would let your midwife know as she may want to check you, they don't like you to go too long after your waters have broken due to risk of infection.
My waters broke with my second pregnancy, I was in bed trying to sleep and just as I started drifting off I woke up to a gush of water. I jumped up (well waddled up lol!) and went to the bathroom leaving a trail of my waters behind me! Mine kept going for probably about 30 minutes on and off until they eased off but I lost most of it in the first gush I think.
Worst bit was when I got home from hospital 3 days after having the baby I realised dh hadn't changed the sheets on the bed!!!!!!!!!!!! How gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice!!! these dh's are soo charming aren't they - men eh
The only time my water broke on its own it was not a flood. I bent over to pick something up and as I came up I felt a warm trickle. I had no idea if my water broke or if I peed myself (never had done either before!) I just knew it didn't feel normal. But found that extreme movements made it trickle more. The gush came when the baby came out. lol.
Good luck! I hope this is it for you!
I am totally stalking you Mocha!!!! sounds like your water to me...I hope you have a quick and easy delivery....:)
Good Luck Mocha!!!! I cant wait to hear your news!!!
I went in yesterday to have a CTG done on bubs ( which was all good) I decided to get my blood pressure checked while I was there because Yesterday I felt just unwell and headache and funny vision. I was seeing a lot of floaters in my eyes and bright flashers. Anyway blood pressure was 160/100 which is a big jump from 125/85 so off I went up to the hospital was stuck there for hrs!!!! Anyway wee sample was clear BP came down to 145/95 I was able to come home but they are still worried about Pre Eclampsia so I must go back if my eyes play up again. Waiting on my blood work which does worry me because My Liver function is not normal anyway so just woundering what signs would be different in my liver between the ICP and Pre Eclampsia!? Just have to rest I guess and wait and see. Gee talk about a horrid pregnancy!! I hope I get a good settled Healthy baby out of this!! PLEASE that is all I want!!!!
Pinkin, I am sorry this pregnancy has been so hard on you! One thing after another for you/ :( Hope all your tests come back okay.
I have migraines only in pregnancy, and I don't actually get the headaches--just visual disturbances (I think they call it auras or halos or something?) Anyway I get bright flashes and weird sparlky lights in my vision. Is it possible that you are having that happen? Mine go away a few weeks post partum.
