It just kinda took the wind out of my sails a little.
Anyway, yeah hope is dangerous. I need to try move past hoping and embrace the blue.

When moms who have girls say an awkward comment, or a shameful one.. I always add that Im SO GLAD I have my boys. That I even swayed for the first two (which is true) and they end up giving a shocked face, its not as common to sway for blue as much with your first or second pregnancies. Most people sway for girls (in my area at least!) so people usually give me a startled look... like what?!?! You WANTED this??

What I plan to do , to prepare myself if I hear boy again, is print out newborn pics from my sons, and place them somewhere Visible.. whenever I see those pics my hearts melts with nostalgia and I think, how can I not want another one of these? [emoji170]

I am shocked because I accidentally just saw the results if genetic testing, and I am having a boy. Part of the shock is boy in part of the shock is accidentally finding out by seeing it on my computer chart. I wish I had been more careful. This morning I'm going in for a prenatal appointment and will hopefully hear a heartbeat (SCH condition greatly increases odds of missed miscarriage.) I was hoping to find out about having a healthy baby before finding out the sex. So my sway failed again and this means I will never have a daughter. I wasn't ready to hear that.
And now I have to go to work in one minute. I'm kind of in shock. I know this will be okay in the end but right now I just feel alarmed. Deep breath. I'll let you know how the appointment goes soon.

Oh Gafan, I'm so sorry you didn't get your girl. I'm also sorry for the shock that this caused. I completely understand the shock and having to put a game face on for work.

I found out with my first son on my lunch break and had to go back to work and struggle through GD while pretending everything was fine.

Please give yourself the time to wrap your head around and process as you need. We will all be here if and when you feel like talking.

But most of all, I'm sending good thoughts for a strong heartbeat and healthy baby for you.

How are we all feeling? I'm now 14 weeks, scan is in under a week yay!
I got a fetal doppler today! Have had a lovely cry hearing babas heart beating! It was around 157-165 consistently. I think my boys were around the same around this stage which further reinforces the idea I'm having another boy.

My boy/girl twins have had very similar heart rates this whole time. They both started in the 170s/180s, slowly dropped down and now they both seem to hover in the 150's. I truly think the heart rate thing is crap :)

Gafan - I'm so sorry that you both found out when you didn't want to and that you didn't see "girl". Huge hugs. I'm hoping that the sound of a healthy heartbeat today will give you a little bit of peace and lift your spirits a bit. It's so hard though to deal with GD. We are all here whenever you need to talk/vent!!

Oh yes, mine did the same thing with the heart rate. By 14 weeks she was definitely into the 150’s.

The heart rate thing is completely false. At my first scan (9wks) her heart rate was 175, at my last appointment via doppler her heart rate was 150. My two boys were always in the 150's.


gafan- I'm so sorry you had to find out before you were ready. Be kind to yourself today as you process everything. I hope your scan went well!
