Praying!!!! GOOD LUCK! So so so excited for you, will definitely be stalking the boards now hehe. Wishing you an easy delivery!!! Hoping baby Joelle nurses well for you too as I know you mentioned you were nervous about that! Update when you can :)
Oh wow P4P just got to the end of the thread and Joelle is coming - how exciting!!!!!!!!
Really hope all goes well for you hunny, safe delivery, can't believe you will get to meet your daughter so soon (if you haven't already).
Bama good luck for friday.......... how exciting we have been waiting for weeks for a baby now all of a sudden here come the girls all together!
Hopefully my little lady won't be too far behind, i went to the midwife today and she has finally engaged - hurrah!
Hi ladies! Thanks for all the well wishes. Joelle Lilliana was born at 7:06pm and she weighs 7lbs 10 oz. She is 19.5 inches long. Labor was good until the pitocin was administered but I made it through all 13 hours med free! She is feeding well and doing well. Attachment 11876
She's beautiful P4P!!!
She's just fabulous praying! Huge congratulations....you must be over the moon she is here safe and sound!
What lovely news to wake up to, huge congratulations hunny and welcome to the world Joelle. I hope she brings you and your family much happiness, well done you (especially on the drug free labor part!)
Congratulations to everyone who has had their baby or is due to soon. I am board crashing to remind you about flathead before everything gets manic and covered in baby poo for you:)
Check that your baby can can turn its head both directions. If not (s)he may have torticullus which restricts movement and can be easily treated with physio.
For all babies - Make sure your baby sleeps on different sides of his / her head, don't leave them in car seats or bouncy chairs too long and make sure they get plenty if tummy time.
Nobody told me the above and my poor DS1 had torticullus that lead to severe flathead on one side, distorted ears, eyes and jaw on one side. Luckily we were able to solve the problem with physio, cranial sacral therapy, osteopaths and a cranial helmet but it was a long and upsetting 9 months that I would love to help you avoid.
I am not trying to bum you out at an exciting time I just really want you all to have the info to give your babies the best start you can. Different countries give different amounts if advice so forgive me if you all know this already.
Enjoy your lovely babies:)
Congrats P4P! I am so happy for you.
Congratulations P4P and family. Enjoy your little girl
Congratulations P4P, she is beautiful :)
Ah, P4P! She's beautiful!! Congrats to you, enjoy those freshy snuggles!
congrats on your lil princess!
and go rock star i have heard pit contrx are the worse and not many go w/o drugs. why the pit?
well just as i was beginning to get excited that my little lady is on her way, my middle son has come from school with chicken pox - grrrr!!!!!
Ds1 has caught it before, ds3 has never had it - like most things whilst its fine for little people generally and quite mild, its dangerous for newly pregnant women and new born babies! Looks like i'll be trying to keep my legs crossed for as long as possible although no idea what we will do as ds3 is bound to catch and its a 2-3 week incubation period - there is no way i'll be that late and a newborn with chicken pox sounds really scary - why is nothing ever straight forward
My ds2 got the chicken pox when he was just a couple of months old. He ended up doing just fine. It actually ended up being pretty mild because he was too young to actually scratch.
i've been looking on line most of the night, some people are saying its mild providing the mom is immune and breast feeding, some are saying it can be fatal if its caught properly and really dangerous for a newborn keep them well apart, so i have no idea what to think -
hoping ds3 comes out in spots over the next couple of days (first and only time i reckon i have/will ever hoped one of them catches something) so both boys are through the worst before she arrives - at least that way i can keep the apart if its only for a short time
Congrats P4P that's brilliant news!!!
Oh no Mrs P. That's worrying. I had shingles when DS1 was a few months old and you can catch chicken pox from shingles but he never got it and the dr said that the immunity can be passed through the breast milk. It can't be easy though for you having ill kids and then a baby. Hope it goes away quickly for you and the baby doesn't get it.
P4P Congratulations!! Joelle is adorable. What a little sweety.
Oh mrs P what a bugger !!! Fingers crossed its all over with before little lady comes. xx
P4P congratulations! So happy for you!
You did such a great job, be proud of that!! XXX
Thanks for the congrats ladies! I tell you it has surely been a whirlwind. I was waiting and waiting and then...boom! I actually just had mild cramps and some pink spotting so I called my mom who has had 3 kids (lol) and she said yep your body is going into labor. I didn't know because my water broke with my son but I was induced with him.
So went in to the doc for a NST and midwife says "we'll u are smiling through the contractions so you probably aren't in labor yet". She checks me and I'm 4 cm 90% effaced and baby was at -2. She goes "well you bought the magic ticket! Go straight to L&D! Do not pass Go! Do not collect $200! Do not stop at McDonalds" lol.
I progressed fast but then stalled at 7 cm like I did with my son. We were trying to do nipple stim but my parents kept coming in, lol. Ended up on pitocin and was ready to push at 7. Pushed for 5 or 10 minutes and she was out! Hurt like hello!!! Lol!
love you lucky women that don't feel anything at a 4 lol I have always had to work hard to get to that 4 lol. stalling can be normal and your body taking a break, usually walking around or switching postions can help. glad everything went well.
P4P, well done love. Hope you're recovering well and being well taken care of by friends & family. Rest up and take good care.
Mrs. P-What a bummer! That's terrible timing to have sick kids in the house and I don't blame you for being worried about babe. Hopefully it passes quickly, nursing always helps with a baby's immunity. Try not to panic, best wishes.
AFM, I just found out that my primary midwife is off-call until Sunday morning and I'm not crazy about my secondary midwife. So I'm laying off the Raspberry Leaf tea, I'm steering clear of spicy foods and I'm clenching my legs together. Wish me luck! Hopefully Maggie can sense what I'm feeling and she'll just stay put a bit longer.
Congrats p4p!!!! Beautiful little girl you have there.
Congratulations! Still seems like ages away for us August mummies! Part of me wants him to come early so I can feel slim again. The other part of me is worried that we've still not chosen his name and my birthday is at the end of July so I'd rather he came after that! ;)
Bama best of luck today with you c-section. I hope everything goes well for you. Can't wait to see a pic of your little girl.
Thanks. Today is the big day! I'm so excited!
Thinking of you, Bama Belle!
Hi all - congrats to all the lovely new borns xx our little man rushed into the world this morning at 11.16. We arrived at birthing centre and was checked at 10.45 only 3cm but went from that to delivery in 31 minutes. Never made it into the pool and never got any pain relief!!!! Ouch!!! He is perfect in every way and peacefully sleeping in my arms. Will update more in few days xx
Congratulations Onelastdream. He certainly was in a rush to meet you.
Hudson had his 4 week check up yesterday - he now weighs 10lbs 11.6oz, he's doing great!!! Today is DS1s 2nd birthday so we have been busy doing things for that.
Hope everyone is doing well and that more babies are just about on their way!
