Babymad ~ CONGRATS on the birth of your beautiful son! he is so gorgeous!!!! xxxx
what's been decided regarding the meet up? where/date/time?
afm, I do apologise for being so awol these days! I'm currently fighting to get my youngest son some speech therapy but everywhere I go I am met with "why dont you wait a while longer, all children are different" bla bla bla bla. I went to see the health visitors 3 months ago when i first raised my concerns but they didnt want to refer him any further and told me to wait and well, 3 months passed and I got tired of waiting! Booked an appointment to see the gp, thinking he would take me serious. I had to wait over 2 weeks for the appointment, only to be told that they don't do referrals for speech therapy, so i have to go back to the health visitors! I rang them this morning and they're on holiday (of course) for another 2 weeks.. I am sooooo frustrated that nobody takes my concerns seriously. The gp today did say it looks like ds2 has got dull ears so was kind enough to write a letter to the health visitors, prompting them to start an evaluation/examination. At least now they won't be able to fob me off again! If only someone would have took me serious 3 months ago! we would have then been well on our way of getting the help we need *big sigh* is it like this in all of the UK?
but on a positive note - we have cracked the potty training!!!! I now have 2 children out of nappies instead of just 1 :cheerteam:
Congratulations Babymad He's gorgeous. Great weight too!! :) Home birth too, amazing!
My Dh knows about this site and doesn't believe in swaying, says it's all chance...but he went along with EVERYTHING I asked, so he must of believed a small part of it would work?? He's not read anything, that I know of!! lol Thankfully after cursing him a few days ago....lol
I wish I could meet up, but too far with the kids, could maybe bring ds1/2, but the prob twins too much on my own just yet as I'd have to stay overnight, too much of a drive for me alone? or travel on the train all day. Dh might come and drive me down, but would stay out the way for the 'meet up'.
Inglewood if we go to wells dh might go with me as would make a trip of it but said he's locking himself in the hotel room or staying in the bar lol!
Sunset I have the same issues with ds. At 18 months I knew things was not right with him as he couldn't walk talk or understand. I still wonder if his a bit autistic. It took a year to be seen. He goes every six months with no help just told he's at the low end of normal - it will come. Guess what? He never did catch up! You get f all help in the uk unless you are a crack head- sorry but that's the way I see it. They look at me - middle class graduate and just think get on with it. Long long story with us. I have piling my hair out for years but have found out some useful things. If you have a sure start centre near you they were very very helpful with advice for me. 100 times better then salt or pead. Sorry feeding now so typing left handed on phone. Also mums net was ace for advice - any problems you can ever have with kids in the uk there are some people been there and done it on that site (also lots of nutters too but the salt advice was great) let me know if I can help and I will dig out some info for you x
Hi Girls...
Thanks for all your lovely messages, means a lot xxx
Still in shock that he is here and he arrived at home!!! I was so prepared (but fed up) to be induced again so delighted I finally got a home birth - it was amazing. Baby is a bruiser :) His head is very swollen at the moment so hoping that eases soon, none of the others had that so seems strange!!
I'm not breast feeding and feel very relieved not to have the pressure - i did try but with all mine and its never really happened - I haven't given up this early before but I didn't have 3 other kids to look after before - we don't have any family to help so I can't just sit and feed all day whilst someone helps out - I have to do everything so I have to be organised!!
Sorry I didn't catch up with you all before he arrived - I didn't have a good couple of weeks to be honest.
Very pleased he is here now and it was lovely to have so many lovely comments on FB too :)
Will catch up properly soon - it is great to know I have you all close by xxx
Lovely to hear from you babymad! So glad birth was such a positive experience and i definitely think you are doing the right thing not breast feeding...it just doesn't suit everyone. Mind you i am one of the (dare i say it) few pro-bottle people in the world! Cant wait to hear the full story and also how you are feeling about it all now. He really is lovely and i hope the swelling settles soon. Your dh and ds1 look so happy in the pics, cant wait to see one of you with him soon :) Enjoy these early days and keep as posted when you can. Much love from our end! X
