UK SMOG Wannabes - March

Morning ladies. I've just got back from my postnatal appointment (a few weeks late i know lol) and the gp kept going on about how my hubby should have the snip :rofl:

Maybebaby ~ aw i'm so glad to hear you're okay now! i still wonder though if i could ever allow myself to get pregnant again after having been so ill.. the whole experience just scares me so much!

Zanacal ~ I know, it's going so fast :p she's 10 weeks already. and you havent got too long to go now :) have you started buying pink for baby?

Deaks ~ how are you enjoying your pregnancy?

Chocolate ~ i'm so sorry you're feeling so down.. i wish i had a magic wand that could make it all better

Oh sunset, your poor little boy, its horrible when we cant do anything for them, hope your ds1 is better soon too!

Hi Maybe, glad you're well now, im broody too lol, my ds3 looks huge compared to new little babies now :-(

Chocolate, thanks for the advice, i will try that!! he was a bit better last night but his nose is bunged up so propped him up on a pillow which seemed to help a little. Just wish all of these bugs and colds would sod off... bring on the summer!!!!! x

sunset - hope you boys get better soon! nothing worse than sicky boys! the iv sounds horrible. i hate having them so god knows what your ds went thrugh poor little mite and Poor OH i bet his jaw hit the floor lol! i know my oh wouldnt get his done in a million yrs! there his crown jewels!! Give him a big hug from me!! PMSL!!! :rofl:

LOL sunset - this is our plan after this baby as I think for us a family financially and for us mentally (or my mental state) we cant have anymore HOWEVER was talking to a mum at beavers and she has 3 boys always assumed they planned number 3 OHNO he was conceived a year after the snip :O could you imagine and then another boy....she sounded pretty upset by it all! You should have said you were already TTC ;) hehe

LOL - the midwife offered to take DH out to the carpark with two bricks while I was in labour - he seemed tempted at the time :¬)

I keep asking dh, if he wants another but he keeps rolling his eyes at me and saying no! I get so broody when I give birth! Ask me in six months and I am sure I wont want another but right now, give me about eight weeks, ply DH with wiskey and I might jump him! ha ha! Petal - are you seriously broody or just broody with no intention to act on it?

I get broody when they hit about 1 x when they start to wean and I tend to stop BF, they walk etc.....god its going to be weird this time knowing no more!

Hmm - I think I will be forever broody. So sad. I just wish we could stay like this forever they didn't have to grow up :¬(

Your right it does get hard once they past one !! I am really struggling right now as this is the first time we have ever got to this point with a child nearly two and not been preg, ttc or planning on ttc and its so so hard, in fact so hard I am thinking about num 5 !!!

i wont be allowed another.....i think it is for the best but oh my it will be soooooo hard!

I don't know how things baby wise will go for us, for the next 5 years there's definatly no plan for more, I want to do my degree and get some experience in. But I'm only 28, I don't know if in my late 30's we would decide to have another, never say never!

Wowwee I've had a busy few days! Painting, cleaning, studying, had two mock exams in health psychology and chemistry! Feel quite happy with how they went.
Had a skip delivered to the house this afternoon, we had a huge junk pile in the garden that gradually built up and up, weve been sorting all that! Chopped up lots of wood and had a bonfire once everything was cleared! The boys both loved it! And dp of course lol there's just something about boys/men and fire huh!
Got a little space left in the skip so I'll be clearing bits from the house to give more storage space for when the new addition arrives!

Really should go to sleep! All this work has done me in :)

Hi everyone, hope your all ok. Feel like i've missed so much and have lots of catching up to do as since we moved at the end of feb we haven't had broadband as Sky messed up. Whats been happening?

I'm been so ill from the stress of moving etc that i'm wondering if i should start the diet soon or not!? I think it's more to do with the fact that this is prob the last for me and the kids wear me out, lol. Oh disappeared to some charity football thing today so kids to entertain, best get them dressed as we've been up for hours :(

Good to hear from you Wishing, hope you feel better soon, moving is so stressful. I think it is worth starting the diet and you can always decide later when to ttc but at least if you feel ready or have an oops (like we did) you will have been on the diet already.

I'm just the same! so funny that when you already have a newborn you just want another! It is a great feeling, enjoy. You are right though, ask again in a few months and you will be super content with your brood. I hope I feel complete after this one and stop wishing for a daughter, i'd love just to feel 'done' and content.

Sunset- so good to hear that River has improved, what a worry for you, did you know what it was?

Hello everyone i'm doing good thanks. I was really on a downer about not ovulating and just feeling generally bit meh about swaying, TTC and failing!

But my mood has lifted! I handed in my 4 weeks notice at work today just decided today I don't want to work evenings anymore, I don't want to wake up feeling really tired on Saturdays and Sundays, have to miss out on social gatherings because I can't get the time off work.
So rang up tax credits and me not working would raise my tax credits to an ammount comparable to my monthly wage.
So I though sod it. I'm not spending my weekend working anymore!

And then I reaslised that what I've always wanted to do was something creative like paint furniture I painted a toy chest for DS1's 1st birthday with Thomas on the front (the old style illustrations from the original books) and everyone was so impressed. I thought well maybe I could knock a few of these out a month and sell them to order and easily make what I do on weekend on each one for 6 hours enjoyable work. I've been thinking/talking about doing this for 3 years now and tonight it actually became do-able we have a car port that has a fair sized storage area at the back once we've rigged up some lights in there and made a tip run I could make a little studio, where I could paint things and leave them to dry with no fear of little finger prints, cat paw prints or wood dust from DP's workshop ruining the finish. I am beyond excited at the prospect of being creative again!

On the TTC and swaying front not swaying diet has gone to pot. Still eating less than I ever did when I had the boys but much tastier food than the plain pasta and rice that I have endured for the last 5 months :). Just needed real food and to lift the strict restrictions I had on myself. I asked dP to get me some soy tablets from H&B thought they were 120mg tablets (asked for 40mg-100mg tablets) Turns out they were a pack of 120 and they are 750mg :O! I started taking them yesterday before this dawned on me CD5 (taking CD5-9) So today took half the contents of one tab but that's still 375mg of soy equivalent of about 185mg give or take of Clomid. So I'm probaly going to end up not ovulating at all from the shock to the system or having quads all boys because my diet has gone to pot? LOL I was saying how a December baby would be nice but somewhat of an inconvenience (because of x-mas) to friend. So sod's law i'll probably end up with 4 now!

Well look at me going from having nothing much to say to a massive essay!

I'm very pleased with my gifts! I got a mirror jewelery box and a mirrored box for odds and sods! A couple of packs of cadburys nibbles (which Charlie stole at first sight!) and a me to you bear!
The trinket box goes lovely in my nice newly painted bathroom!

Maybe yay so glad Ashton has a name! I liked this one the best :), the last you said was he didn't have a name but it was a long story! Lol

I think sometimes it's good to shake the diet up a bit, I wouldn't worry about being off for a little while.
Your little business idea sounds brilliant! I'm so useless at art and crafts! Maybe the time away from work will be good on the ttc front as well! ;)

Lavender - huge hugs for not ovulating - have you had problems in the past TTC? I wonder if the diet was too much and your body stopped Oing to conserve energy? FX for a BFP although quads i hope not for your sake ;) TBH I think swaying is a load of cr@p looking at the odds on here! If it did work surely we would at least hit even with a girl/boy ratio - i know those who swayed and were successful would probably disagree but really - so much work in our sways and still pretty much alllll boys! As for giving in your notice :D yay go you x I have been saying i will leave the realm of starbucks everytime i have a baby and failed like you i love arts and crafts and always making things we dont really have any room for me to set somewhere up. Good news on the tax credits though :) means you can build things up without having to panic x please though MAKE me leave starbucks this time!! I am hoping to pass my practitioner shiatsu before baby arrives , only basic level but i can practise x FX dh is going to change jobs too so am hoping big work changes will happen x

DH is away so no brekkie in bed - although Nic did remember part way through shoving breakfast down him that it was sunday and therefore mothers day :D both boys brought home cards from school so I have had those x going to see my mum later we have made her scones and the boys have each drawn her a picture x then later they are coming over her and we are getting a wagamamas as both my sisters are home at the same time!! So that will be lovely x

Thanks Charlie and other ladies for the buggy link, that's exactly the one I had (but diff colour). My MIL and SIL very kindly got us one, it wasn't what I'd of chosen and it didn't fit through my front door! So we politely asked if we could swap it for another! Not again what I'd choose, but it fits thru my door!!! A Macarlan twin buggy in red!!! Never had a red buggy, so it's nice. My mum has offered to buy the footmuffs (not Maclaren ones, just nice red universal ones). So I feel very lucky to have a fab family!!!!

Maybe, love his name Ashton is lovely! I get broody after birth too, not sure if I will this time tho!! lol Already asked Dh if he'd consider the Snip! After 3 c-sections, a laparoscopy and 4 treatments on my cervix, think my 'lady bits' have done their part!! lol He's not for it!! I can't take the pill, the hormones from the pill and coil cause cervical erosions, so not sure what we'll do. He might change his mind with 2 screaming babies!! Although my friend's DH had it done and they had baby no 5!

LMW, can't believe ur 18wks!!!!

Went to see Doc on thurs, got co-codamol 8/500 which I take only once a day when pain REALLY bad around tea-time, take paracetamol otherwise. Also got a letter from Consultant to call gp, so been started on Folic acid 5mg and Ascorbic Acid to help my Iron count come up before section. Well, off to soft play, Dh cleaning the carpets and we need to get out the way! Going to see my mum after her work at 3.30pm and then home. Can u believe 16 sleeps till twins here!! OMG!

YAY for buggy hun x i have a red buggy too lol wanted the black first wheels but got the red one CHEAP so whatever!!! So glad they got it for you x and OMFG 16 sleeps how crazy is that x tell DH you could do the op for him with 2 bricks ;) he might change his mind lol x my DH was NEVER going to have it done till i got pregnant with number 4 and it hit him...although now its a boy i am not sure he is so keen again

Charlie, when we found out it was twins he was asking me to pass the scisssors!!! Now realisation has set in!! lol My Buggy was in Boots for £140 (£35 off Maclaren buggies) and I got £14 of advantage card points, so really £126! Bargain! Thankfully my in-laws hadn't paid for the other one! So then I could choose my own and they will send the money. I have an old Maclaren buggy and loved it, used it as the 'holiday' buggy so hope I'm as lucky with this one.

Hi ladies, i've missed you lot!! :)
River came home on friday and is still on antibiotics but is definitely back to his old self :) it's just ds1 that's poorly now lol but he's on the mend too.. he got prescribed antibiotics last week, but trying to get him to take it is a nightmare.. i've tried everything but he just spits it out so i'm at my wits end with him.

Maybebaby ~ love Ashton, such a nice name :) how are you feeling now? hows your blood pressure? are you still on bp medicine?

Inglewood ~ wow, only 16 sleeps (as of yesterday) gosh, how exciting :D you must be feeling ready to pop? have you thought of having your tubes tied while you're having your c/section?

Littlemisswilko ~ eek, not long to go for your scan :D are you gonna find out what you're having?

Indigo ~ it was caused by a blocked nose and an ear infection that had spread to the tissue surrounding his eye.. luckily his eye wasnt infected but since it was in such a delicate area he had to stay in hospital and get his medication through an iv as a precautionary. he was a very brave little man and seems to have forgotten all about it now :)

wishing4pink ~ i agree with indigo. you can always start the diet so that you have the choice to go ahead ttc if that's what you want :)

lavenderlime ~ i am so increadibly excited for you! i think you are so brave to follow your dreams and start up your own little business from home. i would love to do something like that, but i just cant get myself to take that first step. I might order something of you as my son is the biggest Thomas fan that's ever lived lol :)

inglewood maclarens are fantastic x i have the XT one i got when ds1 was 6months old i got it on some half price deal and use it daily at the moment for ds3.....the only thing is the handle has wore where we get it in and out the boot but i cant complain at all about the quality its now 6.5 yrs and still fab

i feel horrendous blood test weds i hope it shows something am so totally tired but not just tired drained of anything i am grey!! and breathless am hoping i can get signed off work for a bit longer although worried i wont get paid :( stress!!!!

Oh Charlie, Im so sorry you feel so rubbish, not at all what you need. The breathlessness is simply the worst, lets hope they can sign you off before you make yourself ill. Thinking of you Hun and hoping blood tests come back fine or show something they can easily treat that makes you feel better X

Maybe, ouch! I can only imagine what that feels like as have never been able to breast feed. Hope the clinic can help!
