Rainbow-that's awesome you have a couple of friends that have 2 boys and then a girl! That gives you and me hope! I won't get a scan for nub shots tomorrow. They only do the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Tomorrow will just be a Doppler reading and measuring my tummy and that's it. Nothing to exciting but I'm still nervous. I just want to hear the HB and then I will be fine! Appt is at 11am. :-)
Have fun at your appt.....same thing for me tomorrow! These appts are exciting...listening to my baby is hearing a little bit of heaven. It is truely the second best part of pregnancy....I love movement first, then heartbeat...then the big belly!!!Quote:

They are now predicting my due date will be two days earlier. In the grand scheme of things it isn't that much but I must say the closer to Christmas it gets the more I feel stressed. It would be awful to be in hospital on Christmas day (if the baby comes early that is).
For you ladies who have gotten good nub shots did you ask for one or did you just get lucky enough to get one? I found my ultrasounds from my boys and neither one has a nub shot on it. Just curious if you ladies asked specifically for that. I have my ultrasound in a few weeks and I will be 13+1 and am hoping to get a good peek but I don't want to get a weird look when I ask for it LOL.
I asked if they had heard of nub theory, when she looked confused I said the angle of the genital tube and she looked at it...
So just got back from my appt. They couldn't find the HB on the Doppler so the dr checked me and then tried to find it again and still couldn't so they got me a scan and found that sweet HB (163) immediately....and the tech said I am measuring 11 weeks 3 days. I did get a picture of the baby but I know the 11th week is not a reliable guess so no nub shot for me. Ever though by my calendar I am 12 weeks tomorrow. I know either way today is still in the 11th week but I guess this is God's way of saying don't stress on a nub it is what it is and you will find out soon enough. I do have to say that when they couldn't find the HB I was a hot mess! The dr was totally calm and told me he felt good everything was fine but I think he rushed me into the scan room bc I was really getting upset that something was wrong and as much as he was reassuring me he realized I needed to see the baby. So thankful he did! :-)
Anyhow I keep looking at the picture thinking maybe there is a nub but there definitely isn't and I need to be thankful that there was a HB at all! Wowza this
Appt was stressful! I'm off to eat a brownie now! :-)

Soar omg I would have been panicking too. I'm already worried I won't hear one at my 7 week scan on Tuesday. I'm so glad he got you in for a scan so you could have that confirmation and relax. Perhaps your placenta is on front making a bit of a buffer for the Doppler things?
Soar--OMG, so glad they did a scan for you! I would have been a hot mess, too!!! Sweet baby, so glad she/he is fine!
Ladybugs - Thanks for your encouragement. Yeah, it's tough...I know you understand! I hope and pray we both get our sweet baby girls soon!! How did your appt. go?

I asked my doc if he could tell gender at 13 weeks and he found it right away. I didn't even mention the Nub Theory or anything I had heard, but he zoomed into the nub and starting explaining right away that boys usually point up and girls point down. He gave me an 80% chance of having a girl. I guess this is not just a theory in the medical world, but just something not guessed upon often due to the large margin of error. :wink:
