Hello ladies, I just joined and our 2nd baby is due 4th Sept. I look forward to sharing in your journeys and sharing mine too.
We already have a beautiful DS and I'm hoping to give him a sweet little sister but will be happy with a brother as well.
I hope you are all well, my 1st trimester horrors have ended and I am finally getting my 2nd trimester energy back YAAY!!!

Welcome littlebean. What sort of sway did you do? Congrats on reaching the 2nd trimester milestone!

Flava and Hobber, yes your medical system sure sounds crappy to me. It seems to just put you all under a vast amount of pressure and stress. How are you going now Flava?
HappyLea, how's your grandad going? Was it a small heart attack or has he ended up with surgery? Sorry, my medical brain can't help but always be curious about anyone who is sick! I hope your tummy and back settle down soon. Make sure you drinbk plenty of water. It is easier to get a bladder infection when pg and then it can travel to your kidney if not picked up. See...I'm hopeless!! I'l butt out now!

Welcome to all the newbies!!!

Thank you Peonyprincess and TTC5 :)
Peonyprincess I tried to sway girl using Shettles, which was successful for my boy sway when TTC with DS. I am hoping I didn't BD too early to O though as I think I ovulated earlier than I was meant to so fingers crossed!

So I told DH on the weekend. Took him out to a nice restaurant (OMG there was so much salty food, I actually found it too much!) and ordered a glass of wine. Then when he said 'cheers' I said that unfortunately he would have to drink my wine and put the +pg test in front of him on the table. He was lost for words, looked completely baffled and ended up saying "I don't understand"! The poor guy is still in shock - we were both totally convinced it wouldn't have happened in Feb.
We are going on holiday next weekend and my MIL will be there. He thinks we should tell her because we all normally drink a fair bit of wine and it will be pretty obvious I am not drinking. I have decided I am happy to do that but obviously tell her it is still very early and I took some medication that is not recommended during pregnancy, so we want it kept very quiet, etc. The only thing making me sad is that I am very close to my mum and would love to tell her first of course. But she is travelling overseas and the only way I can contact her is via email. I just don't want to say it on an email. But if I wait until she gets back to Australia, that is not until the 1st of May, when I will be 12 weeks.

Peony Princess, glad you were able to tell your DH is a nice, romantic way! What meds did you take that weren't safe in pregnancy? I think telling your mom over email in this circumstance would be totally acceptable. She will be happy to hear the news!!

Welcome littlebean! I have a "successful shettles" baby girl--I put it in quotes because I actually wanted a boy, was NOT swaying, but she was an oops baby with a 4 day cut off (we were trying to prevent, but I O'ed early, and surprise!). So I learned later that she was perfect Shettles timing!

I took some anti-parasitic medication containing mebendazole, and a herbal anti-parasitic. My boys had intestinal worms (unfortunately it is common living in the tropics) and you are supposed to treat the whole family. We thought the Feb attempt would not have worked, so silly me did not hesitate in taking them. Anyway, it is only an extremely small chance they will cause an issue, and there is nothing I can do about it now except not take any more! I go to the the doctor tomorrow, so will see what they say about it also. AS said taking them so early should not have harmed bub.
I am sure you are right about emailing my mum. She just heard that a friend she was going to visit on their travels has died from the cancer they were battling, so I am sure she could do with some happy news. I'll ask if she can skype me one day and if that's not possible then I'll email her before our trip.
