What everyone must understand is it's not DOING any of these things that sways. It's what your BODY does as a result. So for anyone who is in good health and who may be genetically "better" at recovering from harm from the environment, they can shake off any/all pink sway tactics and still conceive boys. As we all know, some people smoke a pack a day and never get lung cancer either, because they're in good health otherwise or just have great genes, but no one would ever say smoking doesn't cause cancer.
I agree that no one should start smoking or drinking to excess because of this thread!!
Just to update, I did indeed conceive a baby girl having 1 drink a day with dinner every night, and then some weekend days, 3 or 4, for a couple months before I conceived. I don't advise more than 1 or 2 drinks a day for egg health and fertility, and of course take pg tests every 2 weeks even if you're certain you're not pg, but just so people know that it did seem to work for me. Or at the very least, did not sway blue.
Why does alcohol sways boy?I didnt know that:-) My sister is not a drinker at all and she has daughters, I dont drink either and I have one. My mom has been drinking a lot in her life and she also has daughters (and one son). My grandmother that too drank a lot had three daughters and one son. Or is it only dh that needs to drink?
It doesn't!! I had 4 boys conceived with no drinking, one girl (OMG) conceived while drinking (not while pg of course, but before)
InGender has made claims that alcohol sways blue because it raises estrogen and has potassium. I don't think the facts support those claims whatsoever.
Neither DH or I drink...we are both lucky to have 1-2 drinks a year! None of our girls were conceived with alcohol in our systems!
:agree: totally that this is the best and safest option when TTC ALWAYS! If I had known that I was going to get pg that month I would NOT have been drinking (we had not used protection in over a year and I had kinda given up hope). But if someone already drinks a reasonable amount or would feel like they might benefit from an occasional drink for relaxation purposes, it does not appear to sway strongly blue like IG has claimed in the past. :)
Just thought I'd add, my grandmother had 2 boys, a girl, and then two more boys. She said the only thing that was different when she conceived her girl was that she was drinking a lot if gin. So it does make you wonder!!
DD was concieved on a few beers.
