I don't have any thyroid problems but I understand that iodine is important when trying to conceive.I'm trying to limit my salt intake so I don't take iodized salt. Instead I've been taking this kelp iodine supplement from GNC: GNC SuperFoods Kelp - GNC NATURAL BRAND - GNC
Is this the kind of thing you're saying we shouldn't take while ttc due to plant toxins? Is there another way to get enough iodine without salt or meat?
Yes, I am not a fan of the kelp based iodines. There are a lot of prenatals with iodine in them (and honestly, as long as you've been dieting, I'd recommend this for you anyway!) so what I'd have you do is take a prenatal or Women's One a Day (which I prefer) 3 times a week.
Shellfish is another way to get iodine and you can have that 2x a week.
Wow! So, I've really come full circle in this sway process, haven't I? I never thought I'd see the day when Atomic recommended I take a prenatal.
Would you recommend both the Women's One a Day 3x a week and shellfish once or twice a week? Or just either or? I'm concerned that only getting iodine 3x a week might not be enough.
Also, I see the Women's One a Day has 300% of the recommended dose for vitamin D. I remember you've said vitamin D should be avoided for a girl sway, but I'm not sure how much of a factor it is. Is the D thing a hypothetical maybe situation, or have you seen this to be a big deal in practice?
I also just bought solgar folate tablets since I've heard that it's better absorbed than folic acid. There are no indications that I need it instead of plain folic acid, but this is the safer route to go right?
HI,
Im a bit confused by this diet. I thought that Bananas and Potatoes were a NO-NO when swaying pink, and I see them included here! Also since red meat is another NO-No I decided to change it for Fish, but I see very little fish is included in this diet :nails:
