Happy Thanksgiving!!
anyone else getting Braxton Hicks?--- ugh I wish they would go away!
DEFINITELY having a lot this time around! Started at 28 weeks or so, but now they are starting to get a bit painful. I'm actually ok with it though, my midwife tells me that they should make labor easier so just think of them as getting some of the hard work out of the way :)
Ribbons- how are you doing...you and I are only like a few days apart. Hope you are feeling well
stacey's twin girls arrived!!
just read it on the HT forum
Congrats to her...!

How are you doing, my dream? Still having a lot of bh? I've also started getting terrible pain in my hips the past week :( it's hard to sleep cause they ache so bad and it def makes it worse to lay down on them. I know joints loosen up, but this feels like more than that. Usu would feel better after moving around in the morning, but I've felt like an invalid all day! Think I might fall apart before having this boy! Lol
Here was the post from Stacey for those who can't access it on the other forum
THE TWINS HAVE ARRIVED
Ava Rose and Arianna were born yesterday morning at 10:48 and 10:50 by emergency c-section. I was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after a gush of blood and had an u/s that showed an abruption around both babies placentas but was kept for observation, they wanted me to stay 1 week. Yesterday morning I took a shower/washed my hair and was feeling pretty good. The nurse came in to do a non stress test and I started to feel nauseous, she hooked me up to the monitor and went to get some anti sickness when I just had the worst pain in my stomach. I pressed the call nurse button and by the time she ran into the room I was crying in pain and throwing up. After that things started happening fast, the doctors came in, I got moved to labor and delivery. The room was full of docs and nurses but it was sort of a blur. With the pain so bad they thought I was having a complete abruption so decision was made to do a c - section right away. I was scared because I had eaten breakfast, although had thrown up a lot and I was sad because my husband was at work an hour and a half away. Got to the OR and it took 3 times to place my spinal, felt everything going numb. It was my first section and I was scared to death. I lost 3 liters of blood and it was touch and go for a while. Ava was born first and I was worried because she wasnt crying then two minutes later Arianna. I never got to touch them, they were taken straight to NICU. It took a long time to get me stabilized and I kept thinking I was having some nightmare. I was taken to recovery and had been begging to see the babies but was in a lot of pain and the nurse told me to "rest" and that I could go up later. So at 6:30pm last night I got to really look at my daughters for the first time. They are in two different nursery rooms due to space issues so I sat with Ava first and took in every detail of her perfect but small little face and peaked under her hat to see she has black hair. Then I did the same with Arianna and she surprised me with having blonde hair under her cap. It was a very scary day but so worth it. Oh, Ava is 3 pounds 7 and Arianna is 3 pounds 1. The NICU doc just told me that Ava had to get surfactant in the middle of the night to help her lungs but not to worry as it is pretty typical for preemies to need it. When I go up to see the girls after breakfast I will take some pics to post, they wont be great pics though because they have the CPAP? masks on. Thank you all who have followed me and supported me through my journey for a daughter. Who would have thought that just when I give up on ever getting my girl, I end up getting her and she brings along a sister...
I def know what you mean...I've been staying up later cause the thought of laying down in bed makes me feel miserable. Tell my dh all the time I wish I had a lazy boy to sleep in!
Thanks for posting the update on Stacey! That must have been scary for her, but glad she and the babies are doing ok.
this thread is so quiet..where did everyone go.....it's just me and Yahmama?
Sorry ladies! Just too depressing when I seem to be the only one with an opposite in this thread! It's painful being on the opposite side of everyone and listen to all the stuff you get to experience and I don't, just too hard:(
I'm sorry coocoo...I thought there were quite a few opposites. Right now, I think most of us are going through the same stage together with the aches and pains of the last couple of months, and can help support each other with that.
For example...My dh pulled out the air mattress for me to put on the guest bed bc I was waking up with my hips in agonizing pain every morning from the pressure. I have to admit the air mattress helps, but I miss sleeping in bed next to him :(. Don't know if my body is going to handle 7-8 more weeks of this! :(
Coocoo and Ribbons- I completely understand (((HUGS))). I hope that you will both still visit this forum..even if it is just to vent about anything...aches and pains of pregnancy etc.
I personally have not been feeling so great the past few days, dizzy and nauseous at times.
Dr. said all is ok...that I need to eat and drink more. I probably need to slow down as well and try to rest. Anyone else feeling like this?
Haven't been nauseous or dizzy, but feeling terribly miserable :/ Can't sleep well, lots of Braxton Hicks, feeling lots of pressure. I had a dr. appt today, and he told me unless I'm having more than 4 BH an hour, it's nothing to be concerned about. At my next appt. they will check for dilation, effacement, etc...exciting that it's coming so soon!
Getting closer......
mydream, I felt that way before I had Lillian, and she came two weeks early. Not saying that's going to happen to you but I had much more aches and dizziness than I did with the boys.
I honestly wouldn't mind going a bit early at this point....she is considered full term and I am so happy that I made it to this point. I know I should probably hang onto these last moments of pregnancy but they are really rough for me.
Hope you're doing well! These last weeks are dragging by for me! Christmas was a nice distraction, so now things have slowed down in "life" it's slowing down for the baby countdown too! Hope all you ladies are having a happy new year! Here's to a lot of sweet babies coming soon! xx
Had my dr appt today (35+4wks)...I'm 70% effaced and 1.5cm dilated, & -2 station. Dr said he thought it would be about 2-3 more weeks. I can't believe I'm almost to the end! With my last dd, I was 50%, 2cm& -2 when I was 37 weeks and she came 13 days later...
I am totally with you, ladies! Was cruising through this pregnancy without one complaint until a week or so ago. Was so grateful for our good fortune that I felt it was inappropriate to complain at all. But I can barely walk now. Have to sleep upright because of heartburn. Lower back pain is unbearable. Just don't have anything left to support this 4th pregnancy.
Have one more intense week at work, then can mostly rest and work from home. My sweet friends are throwing an over-the-top baby shower next weekend, and that will be fun too. Yahmama, I have your exact due date (feb 4) but my doc is nice enough to induce me a week early. So Monday Jan 28 it is. Only three more weeks!!!
So glad this is our last pregnancy. Just can't wait to have her in arms.
Best of luck to all during these last weeks. xoxo Rose
Hey ladies, its been a while since i posted here. Trying to read back through to find out what i have missed! All is going well here, bubs is fully engaged and cant get any lower, midwife thinks it will be here in the next 10 days. So going through the whole nesting stage and getting things ready! Still do not know what gender bubs is. Thinkin boy from my 12 week scan since the potty shot had protrusion and the nub shots were mixed as i had perfect girl nubs and perfect boy nubs so its still a mystery, time will tell. Its been interesting having everyone tell me what it is by the way im carrying to the ring tests and all their theories so will be neat to find out who is right! Still have no names on our list we are so so stuck. Everything else is all good though and finished birthing plan with midwife today so just a waiting game. Hope everyone else is well xxx
checking in..how is everyone? As for me...I am more than ready to have this baby!
jjc- hang in there...it will happen soon for sure! Good Luck!
Great news about Sweet Sister
Sorry I haven't updated lately...had my pelvic exam @ 36 wks last week and was 70% effaced and 1.5 dilated, -2 station. I've had TONS of pressure and Braxton hicks all week...passed mucous plug mon/tues. saw dr. again today but didn't want to get checked again. Strange as it sounds I really don't want to go before 38 weeks! Worried he would have some possible breathing problems...I know I shouldn't worry since I will be 37 wks Monday and that is full term. I am tired of being miserable but just not sure I'm ready yet!
I can't wait to hear what you have! I tried to have a surprise for this one but in the end just wasn't patient enough! Hope it makes your birth extra exciting! That's the part I really wanted to experience a surprise for was that extra incentive fr delivery and finding out when he/she could be in my arms. Good luck!
Yahmama- how are you doing?
Jcc- any baby news yet?
Hi everyone... still hanging in here, due on Monday... having a lot of early stop-and-start labor that is driving me CRAZY (this happened with my last one too, so I shouldn't be surprised!) I'm hoping he'll arrive by the weekend.
Anything new with you guys??
I've been having lots of on off contractions too...on mon night they were consistent about 7-9 min apart so I thought they would pick up but they died down. Ok with me I guess as I won't be 38 wks till mon and I'd really like him to stay in a little longer! Also a friend is giving me a shower on Sat and I'd hate to miss my own shower, lol! Hope everyone else is hanging in ok too! Almost the end!
Baby Quinn arrived last night at 5:12pm... He is perfect! We had a beautiful, low-key (but quick) home birth and he came out with the bag of waters still intact, it was pretty amazing. 8lbs 10.5 oz - he's such a sweet little guy and my older boys are so in love with him!
Wishing everyone else a happy and safe birth!
Congrats hun. I just read you sway and it was a good one. I'm sure your little boy is amazing though and he really wanted to be here!
Our baby girl arrived!!! All is well and she is everything I dreamed of. We are so happy and blessed!!
Congrats to you Ribbons!
Congrats mydream, wonderful news!! Xx
