as far as i know hun sugar is ok ???? am i right thinkin this ????
sugar is fine to my knowledge, might even sway pink more by causing glucose spikes
as long as fat and calories are within the right range, I wouldn't worry about the sugar
Yes, sugar is fine on this diet - it can be a very handy way to get your calories high enough without going over on protein and sodium.
The low blood sugar thing refers to how many times a day you eat. On the LE diet, you should keep all your eating to 2-3 small meals a day, with no snacking in between. Most people choose to wait to eat their first meal until 12pm (i.e. skip breakfast), which means they've been fasting since the night before and their blood sugar can get nice and low.
talking of low blood sugar is it better to eat 3 normal sized meals or 2 big meals to get all the calories in ???
Another scary-ish day! But our friends have left now. I was able to skip breakfast but they wanted to go out to lunch. I got a mushroom stroganoff (they had no salads!)... which was mushrooms, some carrots/broccoli/peas, rice, and the stroganoff sauce. The sauce is probably where they problem was, but it wasn't gobs and heaps of it. So hopefully not to bad. I'l going to fill up on empty calories the rest of the night and see how I feel around dinner time and maybe attempt to skip dinner to make up for the last two days... :(
I found it easier to eat 3 meals. My last 'meal' was actually an evening snack, and usually involved empty calories like candy.
ok guys thanks, may sound stupid but what is empty calories ??
That just means foods that have calories but no nutritional value. Candy's a good example, as is full sugar soda. Most of those things have very little protein or sodium, so it can be a great way to make sure you get enough calories in your day (remember that the minimum you should eat on the diet is 1500 calories) without going over on other things.
oh ok great il scoff on candy then in the evening as i find it hard to get above 1400 cals,
hopeanddream-The food choices look good! Are you sure they are adding up to those cal totals though? Seems a little low? Also, you can eat more cals, 1500.
ttc-you can eat sugary things, the idea is to keep your blood sugar levels low overall. When you eat things with sugar your blood sugar spikes and then drops really low afterwards, so as long as you aren't snacking all day, and eating your 2-3 meals a day and staying within the cal, fat, protein guidelines sugar is fine on a girl sway. Lots of my food has been candy, cake or ice cream!
Amari~ I am trying to keep it at 1200 cals somedays more when I need it. I can afford to lose weight so I am aiming a little lower. Here and there I may up the intake to 1500 so my body doesn't get used to 1200. I am tracking everything I eat using myfitnesspal so its as accurate as can be I guess. Also keeping it to 2 meals 1 snack after the kids go to bed (which I guess we can call a meal)!
I have been doing that 2. I try to make sure I don't snack as much.. It is hard for me though with cooking separately for myself and the kids and hubby.. But staying at 1300-1400 right now and before I didn't count calories so I have been loosing weight. I have lost 25lbs so far.
wow ttc thats fantastic about the weight loss you go girl !

As someone who is still breastfeeding, etcetera, I feel like my weight is sort of stopping to drop (I'm about 105.8 in the mornings, give or take), and getting so close to O, should I decrease further or just continue as I am?
Suregena, I am also still breastfeeding and I think you are doing fine. I personally wouldn't decrease any further as you need some extra calories for the BF.
How old is your LO and how often do you still BF if you don't mind me asking? How long did it take you to ovulate for the first time while still BF?
My son turns 2 next weekend. When I'm off work, he has milk when he asks for it, as long as he's already eaten... usually in the morning, before a nap, and once or twice max at night or not at all at night (like last night, when he slept without waking until morning, then had some in the morning.)
I didn't get my period back until September. I'm not sure if it was a period I ovulated for or not, though.

My dinner tonight makes me feel like I'm cheating? The cauliflower was of mammoth sized florets, and I did some extra mushrooms because I did so good today in not eating from when I got up (5.30am) until 1.40pm!! All I had was 1 coffee and 1 low cal hot chocolate in the a.m. I managed to restrain myself of munching on jelly beans until my actual lunchtime.
But I did a grocery shop after work and had to haul home so many heavy bags, and I was shaking by the time I got in so naturally wanted extra servings of cauliflower and mushrooms. Then I added chopped tomatoes, too (plain.)
I ended up giving my son about 1/3rd of my rice, though.
But it felt/looked big, but hopefully it doesn't total big. I tried to put it into myfitnesspal and it all looks okay but my dinner felt big!
Oh well.
I'm SUPPOSED to O tomorrow... we'll see.

Rainbow, you might have missed my post below, but I was just wondering where the hot cross buns you keep mentioning are from as they sound yummy? ;)
um I think I binned the packaging, if I get some more I'll let you know
gecon hun just look on the co op website,
Had a look, but can't see them. Their website is not like Asda or Tesco, where you can look at nutritional info on their groceries...unless I am missing something? Not to worry, I'll have a look next time in Co-op in town, but I am doubtful if they'll have them as it is quite a small store.
il have a look in mine when i pop to town next
Yeah, I looked in my small Co-Op and they did not have them.
I REALLY want bread. A fried egg sandwich with hot sauce.... and a positive OPK. GRRRRRRR!!!!!
I think Co-Op don't list it because they don't do online delivery
but honestly most supermarkets do healthier-choice hot cross buns, although even a normal one isn't too bad as part of a meal
here's a healthier Tesco hot cross bun: Tesco 6 Light Choices Hot Cross Buns - Groceries - Tesco Groceries

You girls eat so little! How do you survive on crackers for a meal? I feel like i am over eating compared to you and I am always starving. Each meal I have either rice or pasta , no breakfast and spearmint tea with low cal cookies or something of the sort when the kids are in bed.
