UK SMOG Wannabes - March

aww charlie sorry your feeling like utter poop at the moment! hope you can get it sorted soon.

is there any spd sufferers here??? i dont know wether ive got it or not and dont know wether to pester the midwife with my problems. I was in agony on saturday which is my weekly day out with my mam. we go shopping so it proberbly the most walking i do throughout the week lol. anyways whilst out with her i kept having to sit down in the shops because the bottom of my back was hurting and the botton of my stomach. never ever had this in previous pregnancys i get it now and then but it was terrible on saturday. at the moment i feel like im dropping to bits. feel like my bodys too old for it but im only 24 for gawd sakes!!!

I hope the drop in place can help, they can usually give you some good tips. BF is hard and often the first 10days or so are difficult. I thought it'd be easy with ds2 since I'd already done it all once but it was really hard for the first 2 weeks, I was in tears it hurt so much. I hope it gets easier soon.

Oh indigo, i was just about to ask when your scan was. Will be keeping my fx for you and wearing something pink! Oh and i will be stalking here after kiddy bedtime!

Littlemiss, ive never suffered from spd so cant give any advice im afraid. Im sure someone will be able to though and definately pester your midwife, thats what they're there for!

Lmw I get SPD, I'd defiantly speak to the midwife or gp sooner rather than later, they can help with physio and support belts usually. My pain is more hip related, I find it very difficult to turn in bed as i can be in agony. Also if I walk too much or do to much housework etc I really feel it the next day :(

We got the crate out for the puppies to sleep in as they've figured out how to jump out the box! However ds2 has taken a liking to it lol

Sunset, did consider that but they don't do it anymore. Know 2 mums that had it done post c-sections and said it was the biggest mistake as it was harder to recover from and more painful.

LMW, I had terrible SPD from 24wks with ds2 had allsorts of supports, it's like someone ripping u in 2 from ur pubic bone up. When u open ur legs it's agony! I have it this pg, but it's only getting bad now, so luckily in 2 wks it should pass, it's my back this pg that's kanckered. Ask ur midwife to see the physio, as I had a month to wait!!

I am so emotional right now. Really sad as I want another baby right now. I miss my pregnancey :-( god I was moaning all the time when I was pg! I wish my mum was more hands on as I really need some emotional support. Dh is being great. He has Been wonderful over the last month. Reminds me why we are still happy after over twenty years. I miss my bf. She would talk sense to me. She is visiting next week.

MAybe - have you tried the lansinoh (sp?) cream we talked about earlier when serena arrived?? Its amazing stuff i remember those early with all my 3 and the countdown to latch them on....i tend to bite the inside of my mouth and make it sore!! Hope you manage to get some help and if you havnt got that cream you can get it prescribed......they might be funny about it as its V expensive but push for it its lussssssshhhhhh x oh and huge hugs for the broodyness......well hun if you want one so much then you never know in the future? Enjoy your gorgeous baby boy and see what fate brings ;) glad your BF is coming to visit am missing mine terribly at the mo x x

Thinking of you today indigo! Can't belive how long we have been at this lark!

I need some advice. Not sure who remembers my mil drama last year? She stayed with us for almost four months, never lifted a finger around the house and when I asked her to, she launched into a attack on me and all she Hayes about me. I threw her out after she shock me while I was pg and dragged my son up the stairs by his wrists while he was screaming. Anyway she wants to come back again in summer for six weeks. We made it perfectly clear that it isn't ok to keep on poking flights to stay with us for months at a time without even checking it's ok with us. Anyway she told me she was looking for flights, so dh asked her what her plans was. She sent him a really rude email saying he was a bad son. He replied saying he was just asking if she could tell us her plans, again she was really rude. Baby was only a week old and I was just out of hospital at the time. We have no where for her to sleep! She will not listen at all! When she is here she spends all the time looking at me as she just trod in me! She hates my friends and family so it's impossible to talk to her. She wants to be here every summer holiday. She wants to know what our plans are but we can't ask about hers. If she doesn't get her way she crys. We only prepaired to have her for seven days at a time but she will not listen and stays for as long as she pleases. I really wanted to run away last year and I can't stand the thought of it this year as I can't escape to work or have family or friends round. I know you can't give advice as all adult suggestions are lost as she always brings out the tears! I work in a male dominated industry and women crying to manipulate people is more than I can tolerate! Gahhhh! What to do???

Maybe- yes, I remember that nightmare of a mil, CANNOT believe she wants to come back after what has happened and with the new baby, that is the last thing you need. You could suggest a hotel? say you just don't have the room anymore...you really have to stand your ground as it will only go wrong if she comes for more than a week. she is totally nuts and like you said, won't listen to reason etc and I doubt she will ever change. You have to think of yourself and the boys. good luck and i hope dh stands by you. you just can't have that stress again.

Just had my last scan!!! Babies both around 5lbs 7oz!!!!! OMG!! Not so teenie twins maybe? Can't believe it, although no wonder my back is killing me with an 11lb'er in there!! lol Date still 3rd April and I've to go in at lunchtime, which I was annoyed to hear, with 2 I'd of thought an early morn section???? However, to go next tues to see Consultant then both sat and sun (wkend b4 section) mornings and evening to have steriod injections 12hrs apart for 2 days. :( eek!

Hi to everyone else...sorry I can't remember all the posts!

We have been away for a few days, we had a lovely time. Just catching up today on washing/ food shop etc. we've got so many projects going on with the house at the moment I don't know where to start most of the time!

Great to hear those babies are doing well :) I am so envious that your babies will be here soon as I'm sure I am only a few weeks behind you And I've got another 10, more than likely 12 weeks to go!!!....arrggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Babymad, part of me wishes I didn't need a section... to have them early, the actual op and recovery...makes me wonder had I had natural births, I prob would go to term or over too (which is awful), but none of the nasty operation risks!! She made me sign my consent form today...explained all about the scar tissue from 2 prev sections causing probs, might of adhered to my bladder, bowel? bleeding, infection......the list goes on.... Fx it all goes well tho. Get scared sometimes that something happens?? but that's a risk in ANY pg and birth, but just having a few 'worry' days.

Maybe your mil sounds like a nightmare, I can't really give advise she sounds like you can't reason with her! If be inclined to suggest a hotel even just for a few days.

We too have lots of jobs on going in the house! Seem to be getting there slowly!

We have sold 2 pups now and we are keeping one as well, we have two more visits over the next couple of days do we may only have 1 little boy left by the end of the week. They are still with us until the Easter weekend tho. It'll be weird when they go!

I'm doing 'ok' - still really struggling health wise so everyday is tough going, that's why another 12 weeks feels like a prison sentence!! I'm quite depressed with it all to be honest, I'm not enjoying it at all and most days I live in regret and feel bad about it but I can't help the way I feel - I just want the baby here so I can 'get on with it'.

Maybe ~ forgot to say, I wouldn't entertain the idea of her staying again AT ALL! The baby bit goes TOO quickly and I wouldn't let ANYONE spoil that! This is your time with your baby, email her a list of places to stay!

Kell ~ pleased everything is going well with the pups :) We've not had pups but our cat had kittens and I loved it. It was lovely having them around and watching them grow, I really missed them when they went to new homes.

babymad - please please please for your sake dont let her stay x sorry i rememer how horrendous she was to you i dont think it is fair to put on you again especially with a new addition - cant some other family 'have' her x she sounds vile if she wants to come for a week then am sure premier inn will deal with her x x

Indigo have been thinking of you all day. looking for ward to hearing your news!

Babymad, been thinking of you as well. Sorry you are struggling healthwise and also with gd, i really hope the next few months go super speedy so you get to hold bubs in your arms and then alot of these feelings will float away. Hopefully the spring time will help and being outside in sunny weather is great at lifting spirits! Iam 10 weeks this friday and have my scan booked in for april 11th! Excited and nervous about the whole nub thing. Think i might avoid that area and stay in my bubble a bit longer!

Inglewood, how on earth your back is coping i dont know! i have never carried more than a 7lbs 2 baby plus placenta and that was bad enough! Roll on 2 weeks!

Maybe, i cant believe you mil is doing this to you again!!!! didnt she get the message last time!! I definately wouldnt let her stay or at least stick to the 7 day rule and then say she has to stay in a hotel for the rest of the time. I dont think thats unreasonable at all considering! You have to make the most of this precious time.

Kell, your ds is so cute and im glad all is going well with the pups. I have idea how i would let go of my dogs pups if she had ever had any. im so sentimental! My boys would love that crate too!

thanks ladies for thinking of me and sending me all those positive vibes. Of course, this is definitely a boy, I knew deep down it was but just had that teeny bit of hope....at moment feeling ok as dh being so supportive and seems to really understand how I feel. I really can't believe I'll be a mum of 3 boys, so so weird. I always used to see families of all boys and feel sorry for the mum, serves me right.

Dh has 6wks off thankfully, a combination of Annual leave, Parental leave and dh works 6 days a week for 5 wks then gets a week off, so all that combined is 6wks! Thank god!

Sorry to hear ur not doing so well, can say I know I'd be the same, esp if 2 boys were on the way! Still not 100% convinced girls, won't be till they are here. Wish there was a way of helping, but know I can't say or do anything. Just hoping u start to feel better all round soon. Have u bought much for baby?

Charlie and Deaks, can't believe they are 5lbs 7!! Can u imagine they let me go to 38-40wks, OMG!! 10lb'ers for sure! lol. Must be all the milk I am drinking??? lol House a bit better, our room is almost clean, just the inside window and blind to do (well, my wee mum) and then the cot can go up! and I can prepare the rest of their stuff. My back is just awful, I unload the dishwasher, sit down, load it again, sit down.....my day kinna goes like that with everything I do!

Had ds2's parents eve, a wee star, so happy with him!! :)

Oh indigo, congrats on your little boy! So sorry you didnt hear girl and glad you are feeling ok so far. Oh what it must be like to have a sensitive husband! I seriously think we should advise any new smoggers to sway using the boy method as the girl method really doesnt seem to work!

ladies, just wandering how much you all suffered with morning sickness? I havent had much and what i did have seems to be disappearing...much like it did with my boys. Have you expereinced the same as with your other pregnancies ? inglewood/kell has yours been much different considering you are carrying a different gender?

Deaks I'm dreading the puppies going :(
The couple who came tonight of course loved them and are having one of the boys, I've told oh I'm going to be a mess when they all go! But on another note 6 is hard work! When they are out which is alot now, they seem to take it in turns to either pee or poo in different areas of the room, you gotta be quick off the mark as well or you end up with pee paw prints over the flooring! Fun times! Lmao! We are keeping one of the puppies ourselves tho.

As for morning sickness, well I never had it with the boys just had back ache.
This time I was quite bad, it lasted until around 14 ish weeks but I really didn't want to pin hopes on differing pregnancies just because I knew the possibility of having another boy was very real even with my pregnancy being so different.

Just popped on as have had no laptop for a few days, Indigo, congratulations, sorry you didnt hear girl though, what is it with the majority of us smog wannabes?? Did you do IG sway? Im wondering now if I should have done the IG way, but guess Id always wonder if the opposite would work if it didnt this time.

Had a nice time with my boys today, beginning to accept boys is all I will have, maybe its because I have a very low opinion of all men in my family so I am sent boys to learn to love boy ways and help them become the best males they can.

Indigo ~ hugs Hun xx Congrats on your little man :) I know you felt the baby was a boy but it doesn't always make it any easier. So pleased your hubby is there for you, as we all are too xx I use to look at mums with two boys and feel sorry for them.....now look at me....FOUR!!!! I suppose that's why I always think people feel sorry for me, but I do get lots of nice comments too, obviously along with the horrible ones but I just don't tolerate them anymore. I'm still in shock I will be a mum of four......I remember having a conversation with my friend when I was in my early twenties and before I had children that I would do gender selection if I had to as I was definitely having a daughter......if only I knew what I was saying!!!
I'm sure you wll enjoy DS3 just as we have.....my DS3 is a character and very loving, joy to have :)

Yes, I've been buying bits, and the boys get excited when I show them what I've bought which is sweet. Still can't help looking at the girls clothes though....was looking on John Lewis' website and the summer dresses are beautiful, why I do it to myself I will never know! I am very girly and love feminine and girly things......so why four boys I will never know!

Babymad, I am the opposite, I have NEVER dared look at girls stuff. I put my head down in girls isles and I wont even let myself look at the girls stuff in the boden catalogue, I'm too scared of how it will make me feel! Just remember, a daughter wouldn't wear that stuff for long! That's what I tell myself anyway! Sorry pregnancy makes you suffer so much. I have to say, this is my easiest pregnancy so far. With both my boys I had mild nausea but I remember lots of food aversions and also smell aversions with ds2. With this one, nausea has also been mild but I haven't had any food/smell aversions, in fact I want to eat a lot! Not sure about finding out as i dont want to stop enjoying being pregnant. Plus my best friend is having her baby girl in may and I think I'd rather find out after that in any case. The house situation took a full turn. We had a great offer on our place, had an offer accepted on the farmhouse and then I realised how much I love where I live and I love being near everything with little ones. Plus ds1 starts school in sept and the village school near the house said for the first time ever they are oversubscribed and couldn't guarantee him a place. In the end there were more negatives to positives. It was a real learning process though so I'm glad we went through it!

Kell, I'm sure the puppies getting bigger and being a lot to handle must mean handing them over is somewhat easier. I remember just having one puppy to look after! Seriously I think babies are easier! But hose little faces....awwwwww! Will you keep a girl then? We chose a girl because boy airedales can be really big, mind you I think ours is bigger than most girls! But seriously, her dad was like a lion! Fun times indeed!
