Ok, just did a little research on the 12-week blood test. It's called MaterniT21, and it is given to determine chromosomal abnormalities...gender is an added bonus. A lot of the women who had it done were AMA (advanced maternal age), and their docs offered it, since it is less invasive than amnio or CVS. Hoping that they offer it to me! As I mentioned in an earlier post, a local friend of mine has 2 friends who were told gender through this blood test at 12 weeks. Hoping it's a trend in my area! It would also be wonderful to know that baby is healthy without any invasive procedures. I know with 1st tri screens, they can assure you that your risks are "normal" or not, but they cannot guarantee things are ok. I think with MaterniT21, it's a guarantee. We'll see.

I've wanted to hide in a cave this week! :( having a very bad time. I always knew that 13 weeks was going to be a hard week for me but to top it off I just passed my old due date :( I'm so scared tomorrow at my scan the baby is not going to be ok! I keep having nightmares which involve it missing limbs or having two heads!!

3boys, I am sorry things have been difficult for you this past week. :hug2: I am sure everything will be fine at tomorrow's scan and hopefully once you see your little one you will feel more at ease and enjoy this pregnancy more.
Lots of love and good luck for tomorrow. Can't wait to see a pic of your little baby.

Hi! Thanks everybody for your support, Am better today, thank god! Am finished with meetings for this week and am going to call in sick tomorrow. Can't believe he hospital though: my dr asked for a scan to exclude an ectopic, but they DECLINED! Can you believe it? Say this was an ectopic, and I walked he dogs as usual and the ectopic burst, I would die if I couldn't get home or help! Am going to kick up a huge fuss tomorrow! Boobs bigger:) 3boys: all will be well tomorrow, wish I could reassure you more!
Will post question on gender scan week 12 on ultra sound forum:)

3boys - So sorry you're having a hard time...totally understandable, considering what you've been through. Will pray your scan goes beautifully tomorrow!
AFM - Got my numbers back today:
15dpo - hcg 297, p4 45.2
19 dpo - hcg 2427, didn't repeat p4
Very happy with these numbers!
Curious: Did any of you have progesterone levels this high with your boys? I ask because this is significantly higher than it was with my first 3 pregnancies (24, 27, 32 respectively). Wondering if a baby girl might somehow trigger higher progesterone? I know, probably not, but just curious what your p4 levels were with your boys. :)

3boys, good luck with your scan today. Can't wait to see a pic.
Mathilde, that is absolutely shocking about the hospital declining the scan. Where are you? Keep us posted about how you are getting on.
myrainbowgirl, sorry I cannot help with progesterone levels as I don't think they are checked as standard in the UK or Germany.

Not great news from me. Baby had a high nuchal. Got scanned twice. Waiting for the results from the blood test to see my actual odds but the doctor was very pessimistic. mentioned about all the tisomys and the higher chance of congenital heart defects!. Said they will ring me and then we will decide whether to have an amino or not.
I'm doomed. I don't produce healthy children any more!

3boys, I am so sorry the scan didn't go as you'd hoped. Please don't think you are doomed. All might still work out for you and your little one. :hug2:
Just take one step at the time for now until you get the results and know where to go from here.
I don't have any more advice at the moment, but we are always here for you if you need us.
