Gender Dreaming pink swaying success statistics

I calculated the results for the trends thread but assume that more people will see it if I put them here... so re-posting!

Total yielding a girl: 67 successful sways
Total not a girl: 42 sways
Total unknown: 6 sways

Total sways = 115
Total sways with known outcomes = 109
Total sways pending results (i.e. too early to tell yet, or not confirmed a recent scan result) = 35

Swaying success of all known results: 61%
Swaying success assuming the unknown results were opposites: 58%



ETA!!
I've received a few comments saying they thought it would be higher than 61%, so I thought I'd add up the children that swayers had BEFORE swaying and see what % were girls, just as a reference point.

For sways with known outcomes:
total preexisting girls: 14
total preexisting boys: 218
percentage girls: 6%

For all sways:
total preexisting girls: 16
total preexisting boys: 229
percentage girls: 7%

so... 61% doesn't look quite so bad compared to 7% ;)

quite impressed that only 6 haven't come back to update us :)

so successful = 67 (girls) / 109 total = 61%; and if assume unreported 6 are male, then 67 / 109+6 = 58%

Gather then a further 35 sways pending not included in total? but will be updated as known?

yes that's right

I'll go through the results again in a couple of months and recalculate them. We've already had one more successful sway too even since I did these :)

I actually may have a few more successful pink sways because some of the sway plan people don't ever post an actual sway...I'm assuming these are just people who posted their sway?? I think we shouldkeep those out of the numbers since for all you guys know I could be just making those people up LOL but just so people are aware.

I actually think an honest 61% where everyone is included regardless of how "good" their sway was, is awesome. I know it's not as great as the promises made by some of the sites out there but this is real world data, not cherry picked to make it look more effective than it really is. It's people who did great sways, terrible sways, people who were on medication and with health issues and all kinds of things (example, one site omits stats on anyone who has PCOS or is on any kind of medication.)

I expect the % may go up now that we are learning more about the best ways to sway (i.e. being on diet longer and doing only one attempt seem to be yielding better results)

Also, The Odds of Having Another Boy or Girl some evidence indicates that for those of us with 2-4 boys to start with, we may not even be starting off with 50-50 odds to begin with so the "sway" may actually be bigger.

no it didn't include those who haven't published their sways publicly

I think that 61% might go up further too (hope so, anyway)
