Girl nub? Really clear, 12 weeks 3 days..
Nubs can still rise at this point. (not seeing a picture tho!!)
Girl guess. Any more pics or a video? Guaranteed is a bit of a strong word. It's looking hopeful, but we cannot guarantee anything based on this pic, sorry!
Nope, I'm afraid not. Boys and girls are identical at 10 weeks (both look like girls) and then the Y chromosome wakes up and starts to make testosterone. It's this testosterone that makes what look like girl parts, into boy parts, and depending on how this process goes a baby can still look completely girly at 12 weeks, even into the 13th week and be a boy all along.
I am not saying it's a boy, I am saying it is too early, guard your heart.
Thanks Automic.
It's not my scan. It's my sisters first baby. I have my much wanted baby girl thanks to my personal sway plan and this fabulous website. I will be eternally grateful. My life is absolutely complete, she is a dream!
It's just this scan is exactly identical to my little girls 12 week scan. The nubs are IDENTICAL. So surely that means a definite girl?
The scan above is 12 weeks 3 days if it helps?!
X
I would say 90% chance of girl for your sister :) I would still wait before buying pink until a later scan, just in case!
Yes I realize it's your sister's scan, I just mean "guard your heart" as an expression, don't anyone get their hopes up high here. I def. remember when you got your DD! :)
I'm not sure how much more clearly I can explain this but NO you cannot use your daughter's scan to tell you anything at this stage of gestation. The nub can still rise at this point and your daughter's didn't because she was an XX baby. There was no Y chromosome to signal the body to make testosterone. But a baby that was an XY could absolutely look like a girl and then testosterone makes the nub rise. All babies look like girls at first. I have seen at least 5 people who I would have sworn were having girls in the 13th week (so a full week after where your sister is at) who ended up having boys. This scan is too early to sign off on. :)
What is the gestation on the above pic?
