Irish twins and gender
So we're talking about babies born within a year or maybe year+few months.
I've read somewhere online that you have 75% more chances of getting the same gender if you conceive next baby shortly after giving birth ( it seems to me you always have 75% chances for the same gender, Irish twins or not )
On the other site, experiences are opposite-you're more likely to have an opposite gender.
Anyone here have or know someone with Irish twins?
I know 3 sets of It:
1. 12 months apart, :bigboy: then :bigboy:
2. 14 months apart, :bigboy: then :bigboy: ( that lady went on and had 3rd :bigboy:, but it's bigger age gap)
3. 15 months apart, :bigboy: then :biggirl2:
-
(the gender is in order of birth)
1.Me and my only sister-12 months apart= .:biggirl2: + :biggirl2:
2.My best friend and her sister-11 months apart= :biggirl2: + :biggirl2: then her mom had another little suprise and had a :bigboy: 11 months later.
3.My friends had - 13 months apart= :biggirl2: + :bigboy:
4.Another friend had- 12 months apart= :biggirl2: + :bigboy:
5.Another friend had- 11months apart= :bigboy: + :biggirl2:
6.My aunt had- 12months apart= :biggirl2: + :bigboy:
7.My other aunt had- 12months apart= :biggirl2: +:bigboy:
8.My cousin had- 12months apart= :biggirl2: + :biggirl2:
There is plenty more but i wont bore you with them all.Nearly everyone i know has only 12-15 months age gap between their children. There is 4 years between my boys and instead of anyone being shocked that there is such a small age gap between their children they are shocked at the age gap between mine.

I thought the definition of Irish twins were two babies born 11 months apart, or closer. I could be wrong though.
Either way, I know some moms who have babies born very close together, myself included. Here are the genders of those babies:
(My kids)
19 months apart - :bigboy: then :bigboy:
(MIL's kids)
14 months apart - :bigboy: then :bigboy:
(Friend #1)
15 months apart - :biggirl2: then :bigboy:
(Friend #2)
18 months apart - :bigboy: then :bigboy:
-
Definition of Irish Twins are babies born within 12 months of each other.
My boys
14 mths between DS1 & DS2, 14mths between DS2 & DS3,
13mths between DS4 & DS5,

One of my best friends would be an Irish twin with her sister. She has had 5 kids all under 7 they go G,B,G,G,G. My sister has 2 boys back to back, then another boy later on.

I have two girls 17 months apart, not sure if that counts

I think that if you're depleted from pg you're more likely to conceive a girl. But at the same time, I think just to be able to get pg that quickly after having a child at all, you have to be in pretty good condition or you won't be ovulating to begin with and/or might not be able to sustain the pg, so people who are able to conceive/carry Irish twins to begin with may be a little bit set for boys.

Interesting AS ... I was also wondering if maybe for some women keeping on the extra weight of a recent pregnancy would sway blue? Also a BF'ing mom tends to take in more calories, still be taking a prenatal, and likely eats somewhat healthy knowing she's sustaining her infant ... all of that would favor blue too. In my case even when I gained weight for my sway, it was all muscle ... I wonder if now that I've got some pudge from the babe would the fat sway blue  NOT saying boy moms are fat, FYI, very much saying that it would be different FOR ME to get pg with some fat.
ZB, both my IL's come from large families where literally every baby was 11-14 months apart. They are:
GGGGBGBBB and GBGBGG.
And friends now, I have two sets with a 12 month gap. One has BG and the other GB.

Thank you all for your answers! I couldn't find a pattern, it seems it's just a flip of a coin.
Begonia- you've probably guessed, I was thinking to TTC again when this bubba is 6 months or so ( do I sound like I'm rushing?) but BF wasn't taken in the equation, btw your point of view is quite interesting about taking extra calories and prenantal
But with both my girls I was losing weight rapidly while BF, so I'm afraid in my case that would sway pink :( Maybe I'll wait until I wean of this baby completely, Idk, I'm pretty desperate right now, I want another pregnancy ASAP!!!!!!
