So I've decided to take Vitex, Saw Palmetto, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid and Zyrtec. And try to get DH to take Licorice Root and Aspirin. Which ones do I need to take straight on through each month to get my body to absorb them and which ones do I take only AF-O when ready to conceive? When and how long does DH need to take his supps? Thanks Girls...
Vitex, SP, Licorice - AF thru day before O and you do not need to wean off these.
Baby aspirin - 2-5 times a week thru cycle, wean off slowly when you get a BFP.
DH can take cranberry if you want or he can use aspirin, guys can usually stand taking it every day with no ill effects.
Zyrtec - 5 days before O, stopping day before O (only in months when you're going to TTC)
Folic acid thru cycle and then continue at the same dose or higher thru the entire first trimester and then gradually wean off.
Thanks Atomic! I was reading that u can take vitex everyday of the month if not trying to conceive yet and then start taking it just from AF-O when TTC. When should be the very first day I start taking it and SP. Do I need to take them on day 1 of AF or can I start anytime in the month? Also when I start taking all these vitamins do I need to take one at a time for a week (that way I will know which one my body don't like if any) and then start another or can I take them all at once or maybe one kind in the morning, afternoon and night? Also my periods are pretty normal. I get it every 31-35 days. I got it on the 7 of April and the 7 of this month. It usually starts on the same day for about 3-4 months and then it will switch days. Should I still take the vitex? I don't know ... Kind of overwhelmed with all this stuff. I think I need help with a swaying plan. Thanks for ALL Your help! I really appreciate it..
Oh yeah... You mentioned that DH can take cranberry or aspirin, which one won't give him the ill side affects? And does he take one from AF-O or every day of the month until we ttc?
Also I smoke (Such a bad habit I know) I plan on quitting before we TTC, but will it interfere with the supps? Will I be at risk for anything if I start taking the supps while still smoking?
What kind of baby Aspirin is recommended? The vitex I have is 500mg and says to take once a day. Is that enough?

1)You can do this but some people have found their cycles got zany (not in a good way!) when they took V and SP every day. Others had no ill effects. It's your call to make. I tend to think it's best for people to just focus on taking them AF-day before O only and not take them all month (except for people on Clomid, that is). But I don't have proof that one vs. the other is superior.Quote:

4)DH can take either cran or baby aspirin. Since he can take it all month long, it's fine for him to take cranberry. The risk of cranberry comes from having to start it and stop it, which women have to stop cranberry at ovulation but men don't (because they can't get pregnant.) Cran does have more side effects usually like headaches/stomach upset, but just start giving him a lower dose and see how he tolerates it.
Smoking won't interfere with the supps in any way as far as I know (as long as you stay far, far away from Sudafed!!)Quote:

There's only one kind of baby aspirin?? Low dose 70-81 mg, and if you can't find it, just split a regular 160 mg aspirin tab and take half.Quote:

So if u recommend taking the vitex and sp from AF-O should I start both of them next month when AF shows her face or wait until the month we are TTC? How long is the recommended intake for the diet and supps before ttc?
You can start vitex a few months in advance if you want to but I prefer people don't take saw palmetto any further than 2 cycles/6 weeks before TTC (so you'd take AF-day before O Month One, then AF-day before O Month Two, and TTC starting Month Two)
