Does anyone know if thyroid levels or medications sway? I was taking Armour thyroid for hypothyroidism when I conceived my DS, but things leveled out and I am now off medication and wondering if that has any known effect on gender?

That is a good question. I have had hypothyroidism since age 19 and I have 2 boys.
Although I don't think it sways, I think it's extremely important to take if you have an imbalance of either high or low hormones..because if you don't have a good level on them you can have a hard time conceiving or if pregnant you could miscarry.
I miscarried this month because my thyroid production was EXTREMELY low.. But I know it was a girl, because DH has premonitional dreams.
You are LUCKY your levels are stable now!
very good question. my friend has thyroid problems but did this amazing girl sway plus was on clomid.. she had a boy.
I have had 1/2 my thyroid removed. During my 3rd pregnancy (a girl), they discovered a nodule that was making my thyroid run high (so hyper rather than hypo). We don't know how long the lump was there, so I have no idea if it had anything to with the gender of the baby or the kids that came before it.
I have a friend who has hypothyroidism, but it has been treated and controlled since before she had children, and she has 3 girls.

So far, the half I have has been doing just fine on its own. I was tested about 8 weeks ago and it was fine, and I am getting tested again next week to see how it is holding up. Hopefully it is still chugging along!

We honestly don't know as of yet, but I do know an awful lot of people being treated for thyroid issues that have either all boys or all girls.
hypothyroid sways BOY. It reduces progesterone, lowers temps and RAISES blood suger levels. ALL SWAY BOY!

I have hypo and I have a good friend with hypo. She swayed girl twice and conceived a girl twice. Either way, I really don't think having a thyroid disorder sways at all and the meds don't either. Like atomic said, some have all boys, some all girls. Really wouldn't worry about it. Just go ahead with your sway with confidence :)
I am hypo and was on Synthroid when I had both of my boys. However, in between them I had two miscarriages and was not taking any Synthroid an the time. My TSH levels were within normal range and my symptoms weren't bad at all, but it wasn't until I got back on Synthroid and brought my TSH levels all the way down to what they had been when I conceived my first son that I was able to carry another pregnancy past the first trimester.
I feel very strongly that at least one, if not both, of my miscarried babies was a girl. So maybe not treating hypothyroidism sways pink. IMO, though, it's not worth it if the thing that sways pink also makes miscarriage more likely. My two cents is: error on the side of caution when treating your hypothyroidism and focus on other aspects when it comes to swaying.
Oh and I forgot to mention that there is a major link between hypothyroid/Hashimoto's and PCOS (one study found almost 50% of women with Hashimoto's also had PCOS) so anyone who sees tendencies towards more boys and Hashimoto's, that may be nothing but a coincidence since we know PCOS does sway blue.
Yes, pcos sways boy. I've been tested for it many times as I thought that's what I had but I don't :). Levels always come
Back totally normal. They check you on the 3rd day of your period for certain hormones. And definitely do everything you cam to get your levels between 1 and 2. Anything above that and you are more likely to miscarry. I also have hashi's. Got it after I had my DD.

I have hypothyroidism... 2 boys, now after swaying a girl!
I never went to an endocrinologist to determine the treatment of my thyroid, just my general doc, and that was a mistake. My thyroid function was extremely slow last year due to not enough medication.. and I learned the hardest way once I had my M/C in May.
My former friend also has hypothyroid problems and other health problems but she has an even split of 3 boys 3 girls. She's pregnant again though, and doesn't know what she is carrying yet.
She never did anything to sway at all to get her kids so... I don't know if there's anything to it really.
So Maybe..
I will say this though.. My doc put me on a high dose of medicine when I got pregnant in April but it didn't have enough time to kick in as it takes 6-8 weeks.
But when my OB checked my levels right after I got pregnant again in June, they were GREAT!
So...a healthy functioning thyroid might affect the gender.. or not.
Who really knows..
Butterfly, the thing is, you don't know how your thyroid was functioning when you conceived your boys. Thyroids are changing things, they can work well for years and then suddenly go kaput. One of the most common things that affects thyroid function is pregnancy (just like the gall bladder, the thyroid doesn't handle pregnancy and recovery after pregnancy super well). So your thyroid may have been functioning when you conceived your boys (and in fact, it probably was because doctors check your thyroid via blood tests as a regular part of yoru prenatal care and would very likely have caught it if your thyroid was not working right.)
