Happy June!
Thanks NBP!
I can't believe it's June and I don't have my baby yet!! At my midwife appointment today I had a sweep but she said it probably wasn't a very good one as my cervix was high and difficult to reach (I knew that, I haven't been able to find it myself in forever!). I've declined an induction for now (ooh, that's interesting - I just had to stop and breathe through a braxton hicks. I have no idea if/how I'll recognise the real thing with all these twinges!) but have asked them to come and give me another sweep on Sunday and I'll ask for another on Tuesday, then I'm booked in for monitoring on Wednesday when I'm 42 weeks to check everything is still ok with baby/placenta/blood flow through the cord etc. I really hope it doesn't come to that though!
Does anybody have any plans for the long weekend/half-term? I've avoided making any plans because I thought I'd have a newborn and I guess I still might - we'll have to find exciting things for the boys to do close to home I guess!
Thanks Nbp! X
Exciting times zanacal! I hope you don't get induced! I hated it both times but saying that ds3 was my best birth by far. Strange isn't it - you think after two they will fly out but nope!
My midwife said today that fourth babies are said to be the easy ones and third babies the pain in the bum! My third was the easiest - he was the day before his due date and much, much quicker than the others. I won't go for an induction unless there's a medical reason for it so if I'm still here at 42 weeks I'll find myself going to the hospital every day for monitoring!
thanks NBP :HH:
My friend has 5 kids 3 boys then 2 girls, she said the uneven numbers ie, baby 1, 3 and 5 were the worst deliveries!! lol
Deaks, did u have a scan today? x
Hi ladies,
oh zanacal, poor you! hopefully she will make a jubilee appearance!
Had lovely scan this morning and although it wasn't confirmed officially, definitely saw his goods again :) Cant believe how excited i am getting! And again it made me smile so much to see how the profile shots of each of my bubs at 20 weeks are identical!! He is going to be a mini bill/jack i think :)
Been gardening all afternoon today and can definitely feel that i have overdone it but i just love gardening so much that when i start i just cant stop!
My plans for the weekend are to see friends tomorrow and do something fun, sunday at inlaws to meet our new nephew, monday at home for street/town parties and tues to our fav beach in norfolk..... all providing the weather is ok.
If i don't get a chance to get back on here, have a fab long weekend everyone and i want to hear of at least one new baby by next week pls!! X
Umm - not sure I like all these comments about how baby #3 is the worst labour!!!! I'm already convinced that this is going to be my longest pregnancy - I seem to go longer each time!
Maybe - oh gawd - imagine having to stay in hospital from what 17 weeks!?! That would be insanely difficult - especially if you have other kids. I'm just grumbling about a little fetal monitoring :D very simple in comparison!
Zanacal - you must be so over the pregnant bit!! I'm feeling really over it today. Been a horrible grump today. And I am only 37wks3days!!!!
Anyhews - better dash...
Awww all these babies so close to being here its all exciting!
Z I really hope things start soon for u :)
Hope the monitoring goes well Monday Pinga.
I've heard 3rd babies are a pain as well :( with ds2 I was excited to give birth but this time I am scared :S I have no reason to be, I guess I'm like some of the other ladies who've commented in the past, I've had two good perfect labours I'm worried this won't go quite as well.
But it's too late now lol!
We have a party to go to on Monday with all my family so that will be nice :)
Today is ds1's 9th birthday so we've been quite busy, but he said its been the best day of the year so I'm happy with that :)
Lots of your kiddies birthdays this weekend! Hope they all have a lovely time.
Maybe, I've had a few lumps and bumps in my groin since c-section, made me paranoid, but antinbiotics cleared them up and remembered after ds2 I had similar probs, but being a Cancer nurse I get a bit edgy about lumps...
We have a quiet few days planned, Dh putting up a shed with my dad. Not doing anything for jubilee, might go a day trip, if brave enough. Not that big up here, no big celebrations that I know of other than the kids at school on wed when they go back. Trying the colief with the girls till tom, then if no luck changing the milk to apatamil comfort and might go see gp if they still have reflux for some gaviscon sachets that ds2 took. Got a no for local osteopath, might call her if those things don't work.
One of my oldest and dearest friend gets married today about 150 miles away and I can't be there :( quite emotional about it today, baby hormones to blame! lol
Z and news???
Pinga, OMG! 37wks now...where has the time gone???? so many babies due in the next month it's amazing we all pretty much fell pg within weeks of each other....
Deaks, what a beautiful house you have! and u wanted to move?? hope he had a lovely birthday, you are looking AMAZING!!! x
Better go, DD1 crying for a feed.
have a good weekend ladies.... x
Oh, remember you ladies were planning on a meet up. When were u thinking? Dh goes camping with boys for a few days each summer, my mum might come with me for the drive to help with the twins, depending on how far it was to drive, legoland was 7-8hrs.
Ooh meet up talk - me likes! set a place and time and i'm there! :)
Deaks ~ I agree with Inglewood, your house is gorgeous and I love how you have decorated it :D i'm happy to hear the scan went well! you will have to post your u\s pic for us to see :)
Zanacal ~ good luck, hopefully you won't have to be induced! My labour with dd was difficult in the sense that I had to be induced because of high blood pressure but it was still a very quick easy labour. Both labours with my boys were quick, natural non-medicated births so i understand what it's like to feel very apprehensive about an induction, but don't listen to the horror stories! not all inductions are bad! :) i am overall very happy with my induction and birth with dd!
hello to everyone else.. sorry for no more personals right now but we're off to a birthday party in 45 minutes and we're all still in our pyjamas and dd is screaming the house down lol stressful times! better run!
where is everyone?? lol
Not enjoying the weather I guess.... I'm still here. I nearly always have baby on my boob on one hand and the phone in the other. I bet your so pleased you didn't start boob feeding with the girls being pickles on the bottle. They would have to design you a bra like the double expressing one for pumping - bit to hold two baby's perminatly in place lol! I am enjoying it more but still waiting for the 'bf is lovely' feeling.
Lol everyone must be guys celebrating our dear queen :S
I'm busy doing course work, only 2 weeks and it's all over :) then I get to panic nest to my hearts content. Got tonnes of cleaning, washing and painting to do
Maybe, my laptop always on, so nip on/off all day. Don't always get to read it all, but catch up in drips and drabs.
Think the hormones are really kicking in today, feeling like I could burst into tears any mo. Put the girls onto Aptamil comfort yest and not sure what to do with colief as it reduces the lactose, which the milk is designed to have less of. So that's stressing me, their crying is stressing me. DD1 taking half bottles and choking with the variflow teat which is needed for the comfort milk is worrying me and then went to postnatal shape up today and now sore, the mums with babies were stress free and had quiet babies, not me.... I can't even take them as they are so restless and I was actually envious they only had 1 baby to take out, I can't go anywhere yet without my mum or dh, which involves taking the boys.... in tesco new mums that could take their babies shopping themselves. So all that's bothering me and lots of other niggly things. They are 9wks today! and think dh is looking for some 'bedroom action' now. lol
Zanacal CONGRATS hun on the birth of your baby girl! she is so beautiful :D how was your labour? enjoy the babymoon! :) :)
Yes congrats z - again!
Inglewood it's still really early days hon! It will get better. Have you tried a swing for the wind? Dave is nearly always upright in the day. He is windy too. I use gripe water but I have had to give it during the day before the wind kicks in for the night. I think dh is after some action too but it's been nine months now! I just don't feel like it most days. It's all normal with a newborn (or two!) take your time, it took nine months to get them so why not a few more months to settle into it I saY ;0)
Oh no action is not something I want! Or could even think about wanting lol.
My oh told me he's forgotten how it works the other day lol
I was like a rabbit with ds2 couldn't be any different this time round!
Awww yay congratulations Z so glad to hear your lil lady has arrived.
Oh dear inglewood, hormones have a lot to answer for :( I know tomorrow you will be feeling different and today will be but a memory. Hope you are ok :)
Oh the baby has arrived!! - Congratulations Zanacal!!!!! :D
Inglewood - sounds like you're having a bit of a stressful time at the moment :( Hope the girls become more settled soon! It will all come good... and then all this craziness will be a distant memory!
This is now officially my longest pregnancy - had DS2 at 5:55pm at 38weeks. Can't believe that my pregnancies are getting longer each time?!?!!!! Am soooo ready to have him now though :D He doesn't seem in the slightest bit interested in evacuating though! Dammit!
Thanks everyone. we did end up falling out last night.....was gonna happen sometime... did try and get boys to bed, girls settled to have some 'time' together but dd1 cried and it never happened. Think he got a bit huffy after getting his hopes up.....bloody men! I haven't really thought about sex and he makes out that it doesn't bother him...when I'm ready and all that then goes huffy when it doesn't happen.....grrr made me feel guity and I don't need that on top on coliky babies!
managed an hour at mums and tots today...yeah!! got out the house! lol
Pinga, not long now...time creeping up on many of you!! can't wait to see these new babies!
Babymad, u ok? not heard from u a while, even on fb....is he here :)
Gonna go tidy my kitchen while they are sleeping...... pop on later xx
Inglewood ~ men!! *sigh* I find it hard to get in the mood for sex these days because i'm constantly tired and i've only got 1 baby nevermind 2! It will without doubt get easier when your babies get bigger, but for now just try and enjoy the early baby days because they don't last long.. you and your dh will have lots of time for sex when the girls start sleeping through the night :)
Pinga ~ wow, any day now! ;) i find it hard to keep up with all the smog babies :P seems so many are due around the same time? are you excited to meet him? have you got everything ready?
Maybebaby ~ I love my sling, in fact I couldn't live without my sling! for some reason my dd hates the pram and I think we have only managed one succesful outing in the pram when she hasn't spent the entire time screaming. These days I don't even bother with the pram unless it's raining. I always seem to carry my baby around in the sling :)
Babymad ~ thinking of you! you must be due any day now?
Just had to post! Just finished making baby's blanket and had to share. Now that I've finished it... he can arrive!!!

Maybe... are you on fb? would love to have you as my friend hehe.
BIG congrats Zanacal, your daughter is perfect!!
Hope your little boy is on his way babymad, i check fb everyday! bet your boys are sooo excited!!!
Inglewood, aww bless you, try and take one day at a time (easier said than done i know) hope the colic soon passes? id it definatly colic they have? my friends baby was really unsettled and would cry all of the time, she changed his milk to another brand and hes like a completely different baby!!!
Hi to Mrs incredible, i too remember you from IG, hope you are well :-)
Hi to all you yummy mummies x
Pinga wow I love the blanket! you are so gifted!! :)
Deaks did you meet up with Babymad? :)
When are we planning on having our smog meet up?
Hi all,
right i finally have a clean sparkly home and two boys in bed...phew!
Thanks for the lovely comments about my house... it took us a long time getting there but we are really enjoying our hard work. And inglewood, im glad we stayed put!
Sunset, no i didn't meet up with babymad in wells, but i know its a favourite beach of hers so thats why i mentioned her!
Seriously anyone who hasn't been there, just has to go! Id love to buy one of the gorgeous beach huts but i found them advertised for a round a whopping £68,000!!!!!! Can u believe it???!
Zanacal, i know i congratulated you on your announcement thread but huge congrats again... she is just gorgeous and im so glad a few of you are getting that contented feeling :)
Pinga, LOVE LOVE LOVE the blanket... you are a clever lady! And yes, now its done, baby needs to show his face so he can be snuggled up in it.... cant wait to see that pic :)
Inglewood, so sorry things are so tough at home. Keep reminding yourself it wont be forever. They say a lot of babies are done with colic at about 12 weeks. FX for you! If there is anymore info i can give you just let me know but if things are really bad don't be afraid to ask the doc for ranitidene. It is brilliant. If he tries to go down the gaviscon route tell him the comfort milk and the gav cant be used together. I personally would stick with the comfort milk over the gaviscon. Oh and ds1's reflux consultant told me that the infacol/gripe/colief don't actually do anything except taste sweet and cheer the little mites up for 2 seconds. So if things are really bad, i personally wouldn't bother with it. And don't worry about dh, he'll get over it. MEN!
Hi everyone else, sorry if i have missed out on some posts. Hope you are all well! X
Sunset, i really am up for a smog meet up anytime. Did we decide on where and also kids or no kids??? Lets try and get something organised!
Meant to add, Mrs _Incredible... Hi, lovely to have you join us (again!)
Hi all,
Zanacal, huge congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Hope the birth went well and you're home and enjoying every minute.
Just to update, I had another scan tonight, had my bags packed in the car ready to stay in until they'd do a c-section in a week's time and...........the cord has moved out the way. I'm so, so relieved. I found an independent midwife who recommended that I look at the Inversion technique on the spinning babies website so I'd been doing that 3 times a day and it seems it has worked.
Getting lots of Braxton Hicks so wondering when Baby Cuddle is going to make his appearance.
Going to catch up on all the posts now.
Love to everyone xx
Morning all!
Petal, have recently wondered if I had changed brands??? as DH not 100% convinced it's colic, but if not, very like it. changed to aptamil comfort now and doing alot better but that's not a long term solution, think they should be back on reg aptamil after 4mths-ish (so HV said). So if they don't settle back on it then could change brand. My SIL swears by cow and gate milk. The boys had aptamil.
Pinga, lovely blanket, wish I could make things like that. Hope he doesn't keep u waiting long :) xx
Girls have the cold, nightmare. Boys had it last week and I knew it would soon get to them, damn the hol wkend! My mum coming to let me get a sleep, shattered.
Pop on later..xx
Maybepink - fantastic news on the cord moving!! You must be feeling so much better. Really not a stress you need! I'm getting lots of Braxton Hicks too - first pregnancy I've experienced them!
Inglewood - you poor tired thing!! Hope you manage to sort the best formula out.
Can't imagine going another 2/3 weeks! Arghhh... I feel like I've been on edge for a possible birth for 3 weeks already. Drives you a bit insane! :) Sorry grumbling here. Not used to going past 38 weeks :D aren't I special?!?
