OMG, that is soooo very sad. So sad.
The world is so very unfair :(
This is sooo sad. I think twins are such a blessing!
I see everyone says it's so sad. Im not reading it.
Heartbreaking! Maybe if she had support and EVERYONE saw the children as blessings she would not have made the choice to abandon the first set and get sterilized after the last, you can tell both those things were hard for her.
Sad!
such a shame for her,its amazing that someone can have 6 sets of twins! i cant believe they kill one of the twins to break "a curse",very sad how the precious gift God gives is seen as such a thing:sad:
I have heard of all kinds of crazy things that about some cultures.... some leave a baby in the woods or throw it in the river if it is a twin, has a birth defect, and was born during a certain time (month, moon, weather, or famine). People believe these things can affect the persons soul... twins means a shared soul, defect means cursed soul.
If my DS2 would have been born to one of these type of cultures who knows what would have happened.... he was born with an ear tag that is 1/4in x 3/4in. It has been removed recently but to us he is a perfect wild over active boy but to others he may have been cursed. Personnal I blamed myself because I cursed God for giving me another boy and God gave my son a small defect. Defect or not I love that little pain in the butt!
:(
That is terrible!!!!!!! I don't think I could've gone back to my family after the 2nd set of twins because they obviously were not being supportive, and I can't help but wonder if she eats alot of that yam that can cause twins
I have read about such things when pregnant with my twins which was not the best time! 6 sets is an amazing blessing. It is a real shame that such 'voodoo' beliefs are still so strong. Poor Women but wow! I find my own set with an older child challenging enough and I have a bit of help from family.
Another interesting but cool twin fact that I think was from an Asian Country. One culture treated the second born twin like the first born. They see it like a bus, the last off must have been the first on. And the first out was kind of like a servant checking the outside world for his Masters arrival and announcing him. I will save that story for if my twin 2 ever gets crap for being a minute 'younger'
