Cardio 3-4 times a week
I have always been a couch potato, aside from a little walking (not fitness walking, but taking the kids/dog for a walk, pushing a stroller). I was like that when I conceived 2 girls and a boy.
I don't think I qualify as a 'girl mom' since I have three boys and only one girl, but while conceiving dd, I was a complete couch potato.
Mocha, did you exercise when you conceived your boys?
I had a much more active lifestyle when I conceived my twins. I lived in a big city and walked everywhere I went - probably up to 2 hours of fast walking a day.
I wasn't very active when I conceived ds3, though chasing twin toddlers around probably was more exercise than I think ;).
Cardio daily. No weights. Calorie controlled diet.
Yoga 5 times a week + weights, and 45 minute walks daily.
No exercise for me when I conceived my girls
I did weight lifting and cardio (an hour of each) about 5 times a week when I conceived my girls.
Jogging for me 4 x weekly x
no real exercise with dd1 or dd2, but i never ate breakfast and would only have a piece of fruit and granola before lunch at 2pm. and i would wake up at 7am. very little protein in my diet, def. not more than 30g/day.
with dd3 same diet, but i ahd been working out with some cardio/weights 4-5 times wk 30-45 min.
I love this thread!! Thanks ladies!
When I conceived my dd I was trying to loose weight and walked 6 days for 90 mins, but ate a lot of protein and carbs as well as veg
I did weight lifting Nd got 2 girls
It seems to be a real mixed bag of responses. Could it be a change in activity either way that does it? I've never conceived a girl and I'm quite inactive other than chasing kids around. Only exception was my first son who was conceived when I did a very demanding physical job taking care of horses. Interestingly his wedding ring finger is just shorter than his first finger. Google it, it's a good indication of how much or how little testosterone you were exposed to in the womb. Most men's third finger is longer than the first. I reckon I was closer to conceiving a dd back then when I was skinny and working hard!

I was a couch potato...some leisure walks and swimming (read - walking to the beach)...but I was also dieting ferociously when I got my girl...
couch potatoe for DD (I was swaying)
Moderate excerise and wieght lifting with both my boys
long walks every day. but chasing around 2 or more kids is a workout too!
I exercised moderately (cardio). Had a terrible diet, no breakfast, small lunch and then ate so much for dinner and snacked constantly when I got home from work at 6pm and was always dehydrated. My blood glucose levels must have been awful! x
For my recent run of three girls I had become a couch potata after moving to a new house no longer on a big hill and buying a car, my muscle turned into visible flab! Toning was somethin I saw as very important to help me get my new little fella :)
I lived in NYC at the time and probably walked at least 2 hours a day. I was also underweight at the time.
Thanks for all the responses ladies! I am a boy mom, but was a couch potato before having him except for walks with my dog. I had been in a bad car accident about 6 months before so I couldn't work out. I also ate banana's like crazy before conceiving him, as well as lots of red meat, always ate breakfast, healthy lunch and big dinner.
I feel like most girl moms I know do cardio.
Moderate exercise. Walking and Pilates mostly. With DS 1, I was a server. The kitchen was downstairs and the dining room was upstairs so that was a lot of cardio carrying dishes up and down stairs for 10 hours a day.
It's not so much what you do, it's the effect it has on your body that truly sways. So one lady can do X, Y, Z and have girls and another woman can do Z,Y X, and have boys and it's very hard to tease that out because there are so many factors coming into play and our bodies are all unique, both genetically and in terms of history.
Declining maternal condition seems to sway pink, improving maternal condition seems to sway blue, and all our sway tactics are just ways to try and convince our bodies that our condition is declining/improving. We can look for overall trends and try to tap into them, but there will never be a magic bullet that's going to sway for everyone every time - just like there are smokers who live to be 100 and never get lung cancer, but smoking does still cause cancer, of course. Some people have great genes, some have excellent diets, some people just get lucky, others get cardiovascular disease instead and die from that before they can get cancer - overall smoking still causes cancer. Swaying is the same way...even more so because there's also whatever our partners bring to the table.
no exercize for me either
All a lone raising 3 kids. Early morning BD with O then wash afterwards. Quickly walk/run with DS3 a in stroller through snow to catch bus. Skip breakfast sometimes drank Slim Fast in morning. Then a late lunch veggie wrap with Swiss cheese. Busy with work. Active moving job. Highly stressed not worried about conceiving. I was also BF DS3 a little at night.
Potato couch
I have 3 girls did nothing guess it was a chance thing

With my boys I would run 4-5 times a week and do 3-4 days of weight training. With my girl I hadn't worked out in over a year!! Didn't work out at all with this one either and it was in Feb (so cold and no yard work) so we will see:)
Hello,
Just wanted to drop by amd add my five cents :) I conceived all of my daughters (three to be exact ) during my process of loosing weight 😱and I did do lots of cardio and jogging and diet pills. I am not a salty food kinda gal and would rather eat a big bowl of full fat yogurt or glass of milk over a piece of steak or anything salty. Now I know I was doing it all wrong lol. I also was doing jump and dump but it was more of a habit than intentional. The dh always used saliva for lube (sorry tmi😆) and missionary style. Hope this helps 😁

Both girls I was cycling to work about 7 miles round trip 5x a week. It wasn't super intense, but light to moderate speed.
