I don't want to say anything to freak you out...but are you sure they are contractions? Sometimes the round ligament pain is quite strong...
They aren't painful, my uterus just gets really tight, then releases.
HUH...sorry but I'm no help on this one. But don't panic, if you're not in pain or seeing any blood I'm sure everything is FINE.
This isn't outside the realm of normal. Your uterus actually contracts regularly all the time, pregnant or not. Most women don't notice this contracting, but some do. I would check my cervix for reassurance. It should be high, firm and closed.
I started getting them early with number three and have been gettifng them for about two weeks now...
the more kiddos i had, the worse they were are i noticed them sooner. fx that all is well.
I've been feeling this sensation since about 7dpo. It's not painful, just feels tight for a few seconds. I was thinking it couldn't possibly be real uterine contractions this early and assumed it must be my bowel being irritable or something.
I got a lot of braxton hicks with my previous pregnancies, but I didn't notice them until my uterus rose above my pubic bone and then I could put my hand on my stomach and feel it tightening.
I'm still breastfeeding and I notice them during a feed - I fed DD1 whilst pregnant with DD2 and I didn't notice them at all then. I figure I've just got an experienced uterus. Hope all is well.
PS We've sort of got the same due date except I know I didn't ovulate until day 17/18. By LMP we're the same though! Not that I've ever gone on my due date before.
Thanks ladies your comments all helped ease my mind. I'm sure everything is fine for now!
Like the others said, I wouldn't worry about it. And they wouldn't be BH's anyways, just round ligament 'pain' at this point.
With subsequent pregnancies everything's just all, well, pre-loosened LOL and that's why you pop sooner and ligaments go whacky sooner. Plus since you've been preggo before your body already knows what to do, and you're also probably just more aware of the feelings. And, well, none of us are getting younger either which doesn't help!!
I can tell you that while I wouldn't term them contractions, I have noticed tightening and pulling sensations especially when I'm working out and doing ab/planks. They're very very different from AF cramps/bloat/heaviness though, so as long as it's not like AF I wouldn't worry about it at ALL.
Mostly I'm worried about my hips going whackadoo on me again (ligaments released so much with DS3 that I had to crawl up the stairs!!!) but I'm also much much fitter physically wise than I was going into my last pregnancy so I hope that'll help!
With my second pregnancy I felt them super early. This time around (third) I'm already 22 weeks and just starting to notice them. I wouldn't worry...I actually kind of enjoy them (I know it's weird), it's like I'm getting "in shape" for labor without having to do anything :)
I had them with all pregnancies and they got earlier and more often with each one. Jury is out on this one of course as I'm only 12dpo. ;-)
I also get the hip/back pain! Last pregnancy I stumbled around like a cripple for the entire third trimester, and by the end I had to use couches, pram, you name it as a walking aid. None of my doctors ever put me on bed rest so my family never helped. Luckily I had to go early at 38 weeks last time as I wouldn't have coped any longer!
