Was the tech right??
Hi there. I'm new to this board AND to this NUB theory stuff. Last week at my first trimester screening the tech said 80% it was a girl!! I go to a high risk perinatologist who does this a lot, so I was THRILLED...but now I'm nervous and doubting! The first pic is a potty shot, which I understnad isn't super reliable at 12 weeks 4 days...but that was what she showed me. The second is what I "believe" is a nub...but I'm not really sure. I'd love any input you all have to give!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

I'm no expert and new to this myself, but your bottom pic looks similar to one of mine and I've been getting a lot of girl guesses based on one of my other pics. If that's any help? If you upload the images to photobucket and then copy the img code in your reply, the pics might show up larger and it will be easier to see the nub.

the nub looks flat, that means girl, but you cant tell by a potty shot that early because boy and girl are made the same at that stage but you can tell with the nub theory and its 80% accurate a 12 weeks. I would still say a girl because of the nub.

So I have a question then...why would an EXTREMELY experienced ultrasound tech. say GIRL because of a picture between the legs at 12 weeks?? Do you think she looked at the nub and just used the potty shot because she didn't think I would know about the nub theory(which I didn't at the time)?? I guess I just wonder why you would even guess, let alone say 80% girl if you knew you couldn't tell by that shot that early...odd!!

Because I think sometimes you can tell that early. It was very clear that my DS was a boy at 13 weeks. If she saw the nub and there is nothing there, well odds are, it is a girl.

Thank you all for your comments!! I really hope the tech and you ALL are right...we'd love to give our daughter a sister!! She's the only girl on BOTH sides of the family out of 11 grandkids!!

i dont know u will have to ask her but you can go to anywebsites and they will tell u that boy and girl are pretty much made the same until 13 weeks.

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering if maybe the babe was growing a little fast or something because you would THINK there would have been a NUB between the legs, but the fact that there is CLEARLY nothing there makes me wonder. Interesting stuff!! :)
Time will tell!! I get my cerclage placed on Friday and hope they take another peek!! I'll be 14.4 days preggo!!
