Digital pH tester from Dick Smith

I just bought this, please tell me this will work lol i will add a link later when imhome but if u go to dicksmith.com.au and search deluxe ph tester you can find it.

I have that one and it seemed to do just fine. I did have to keep recalibrating it but I wanted to make sure my readings were right.

Thankyou! Does the solution it comes with last long?

Just a quick question I followed the instructions but did not find them very clear :S
It says to gently stir the probe in the solution until the numbers stabilise but I could not get this to happen, unless I layed it down flat for a few seconds???

I found I would stir it then hold it still in the solution with the probe not touching the sides and it would stabilise.

What number do you set yours to calibrate at? I hope I am doing this right...

Ok I tried it again but found the numbers never settled still, they would still bounce around is this normal? Does the movement from your hands etc affect reading?

My cm this time came at around 6.9... was hoping it would be higher =(

I am due to AF any day now and cm is not very much could this affect the reading too?

The bottle I got had numbers to calibrate to depending on temp. I found I had to get a fair amount of CM to get a good reading. I braced my fingers on either side of the container to keep my hands steady, if it bounced back and forth a little like a point or two I din't worry about that.

Ah right how do you work out your room temp or is it temP of the solution? Also how often do u calibrate it??

I never thought it might be temp of solution, I just went for ambient temp off the thermometer on the wall at home. I calibrated every few days, I wanted to make sure it was accurate but most times I checked to recalibrate it didn't need it.

I still can't get it to stabilise while holding in solution so I layed it flat after stirring and it worked, do you think that it ok to do?

Highly likely :) it would have still had the solution on it nothing else.

Are you adjusting the with the screw driver to get the ph you want?
